Story
Bear is a very handsome German Shepherd Dog mix. He is 9 months old and weighs 65 pounds so he will be a large dog when full grown. Bear is a friendly and outgoing dog, doesn't appear to have had much training but they are such smart dogs he should pick it up very quickly. Shepherds are very intelligent and need mental and physical exercise every day. When they get bored they will find something to do if they aren't given a task. That will likely be something you don't like, such as tearing the siding off your house. Previous Shepherd experience preferred. Bear is up to date on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm disease and his adoption fee includes a voucher for the mandatory neuter and microchip. Bear and his brother were surrendered when they scaled a 6 foot fence and got into mischief. Adopters should either have a taller fence or be committed to leash walking.

Story
Ranger is a 9 month old who looks like a full blooded German Shepherd Dog. His previous owners realized he was too much for them to handle. He currently weighs 77 pounds, so he will be a very large dog when full grown. GSD's are very intelligent dogs that need both physical and mental exercise every day. Ranger is very sweet and loving. He would benefit from basic obedience training. He is a young adult (basically a teenager) so when he gets out of his enclosure he has big energy. He settles down quickly and asks for belly rubs. He is up to date on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm disease and his adoption fee includes a voucher for the mandatory neuter and microchip. He was surrendered because he climbed the owners 6 foot fence. He will need either a higher fence or an owner committed to leash walking.

Story
Meet Marshmallow – the sweetest, most easygoing pup you’ll ever meet! This special little guy may love a good romp and playtime, but his absolute favorite spot is right by his people, lounging and soaking up love. Marshmallow does have a few challenges, but he doesn’t let them slow him down one bit! He’s deaf and has limited vision, but he can still see enough to explore, play, and enjoy life to the fullest. He takes everything in stride and has the most inspiring spirit. Oh, and he snores a little—but we think it just adds to his charm. To meet Marshmallow is truly to fall in love. Story
Mac is the biggest pup of his litter, but don’t let his size fool you—this handsome guy is a laid-back sweetheart most of the time. He absolutely loves outings where he can soak up attention and charm everyone he meets. Mac is a social butterfly who’s always up for making new friends! At home, he’s a playful goofball who keeps us laughing with his antics—especially when he grabs his sister Macy’s tail and takes off! Mac plays hard with his siblings and lives life with a fun-loving, adventurous spirit. Mac is also a special needs pup—we believe he is most likely deaf or at least significantly hard of hearing. He’ll need a patient, experienced adopter who understands the importance of structure, boundaries, and ongoing training. While he can be a bit of a challenge at times, he is absolutely trainable and will thrive with a strong, confident handler who can help guide him. A full hearing and sight evaluation is recommended to better understand his needs and help set him up for success. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a joyful, smart, and uniquely lovable pup, Mac might just be your perfect match. Apply to adopt at hsdavie.org/dogs and help Mac find the home—and the leader—he deserves.
