Yogi is with a neighboring rescue that is having a family emergency. If you would like to adopt Yogi, we will pull him into our rescue to complete the adoption. Yogi is a handsome 8 month German Shepherd who weighs approximately 40 pounds. Yogi came to them from a rural shelter with what they thought were new leg injuries from being hit by a car. After xrays, it was determined his broken front and back leg were actually old injuries that had completely healed unfixed by his previous owners. The pain he must have been in as a young pup is heartbreaking. They did an FHO to fix his back hip, but his front leg has a definite 90 degree angle. He is not painful at all and can run and play still. The surgeons recommended for them to amputate his front leg but he he actually uses it so they said no. Yogi is extremely affectionate with people both tall and small and also with the other foster pups. Although cats are unknown at this time. Yogi is an happy active boy with a moderate energy level that still enjoys running, playing and adventures even all that he's been through. He is also housetrained so he's ready to get to all the fun stuff!! This incredible boy is ready for a loving family of his very own. One with kind words, gentle pets and some fun filled adventures...could it possibly be with YOU?!!!

My name is Barron and I be wanting a family of my very very own so I'll start by telling you a little about me! I'm not much more then a toddler, they're guessing about 5 months old. I was found dumped on the side of the road by this really nice man. He couldn't keep me but he made sure I got to a rescue where I'm in a foster home...for now, til a family picks ME to add to their home! Could it be YOURS?! I'm working really hard on my house and crate training. I do great with people and other dogs. I come in at around 20lbs so I do have a bit of growing up to do before I get myself fully growed up. I will be a pawsome mediumish gal coming in somewhere in between 35 and 40lbs. I've got a moderate energy level but am very inquisitive about my surroundings, sweet natured and playful. Now tell me a little about you! Do you love adventures? Well let me tell you a secret...me too! Do you love going for walks? I'm getting my leash! Do you love playtime with toys? I'll go get one, do you want a ball or squeaky one? Do you love belly rubs? I may not do so good giving them but I sure do love getting them! Do you love treats? Oh you know that's what it's all about! Look at that...we love all the same things, a match made in heaven!!! Fill out my adoption application and we can be BFF's in no time!! Story
FROM HAZELWOOD MO, NOT CINCY, OH. She is named Freyja and responds very well to her name. She is 8 months old, born Dec 1st, 2023. She is not spayed. She already knows a few tricks, such as sit, down, come, get/go, outside/inside, finished/no more, and is learning free. A husky/malinois father, she can be very stubborn. However, she tends to act more like her GSD mother. We have another GSD and she loves playing with him and following him around like a shadow. She is not a big barker, but she does tend to whine or whimper when she gets jealous or wants something, which is very endearing. She is also very gorgeous. I think she would be a perfect fit for a family with lots of dogs and/or kids. She can be shy or standoffish at first, but once she feels safe, she believes herself to be a lap dog. She loves humans, dogs, cats, and chasing birds. And of course, her favorite toy is a ball, which she pounces on every chance she gets. She is not crate-trained.

Story
Hello, fantastic friends! I'm Vader, a soon-to-be 2-year-old with a heart of gold, celebrating my birthday on Dec. 5th! 🎉 Here's a glimpse into why I'm the perfect fit for your loving family: I'm a cuddle connoisseur, belly rub enthusiast, and expert kisser. Treats make my tail wag, and I'm a smart, gentle soul eager to please my new family. A certified conversationalist, I'll gaze into your eyes as we share our thoughts. Rescued with my brother Celery after a West Virginia tornado, my foster parents adored us. While they can only keep one of us due to some sibling logistics, I come with heaps of love, ready to capture your heart. I'm an 70lb Border Collie German Shepherd mix, currently living harmoniously with two fabulous female dogs. I'm open to meeting more furry friends, with a preference for females. Cats, however, aren't my cup of tea. Dreaming of a bustling home with kids and furry companions, a fenced-in yard or a sprawling farm would be ideal. I'm a Gary's Professional Dog Grooming and Training graduate, well-behaved, crate-trained, and ready to learn more. A bit of extra training won't hurt, but patience is my forte. I may need a gentle reminder for commands like "off," but my excitement is just a friendly jump. Seeking a loving, playful, and gentle giant? That's me! Let's embark on this journey together. If interested in meeting Vader please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org.

Story
Meet Lennox!! He is a little over a year old (born 10/22) German Shepherd mix who weighs 65 pounds! He is looking for his forever people. Lennox is a very active boy who will do well with clear instructions and consistency. He is working on the words “no, stay, sit, back off, leave it, drop it, house, and done”. He still has an occasional accident in the house especially when he is focused on play. He loves a good tennis ball and can play for hours. He is learning to walk without pulling, gets excited when he sees dogs his own size and seems to want to chase cats that run. He has lived with cats before, but testing is critical. In his foster home, he has a fenced in yard, but does not like to be out on his own. He really wants someone to play ball with him. Currently he is working on “house’ during the workday and ‘house’ overnight. He does well through the night, but he will bark for a short time until he settles down. He is still working on spending the day in the crate. He would thrive in an active family who could take him out for several walks or to play ball. He is a loving boy with a big heart, loves to cuddle on the couch, and did we mention he loves his tennis balls. If you would like to meet Lennox please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org

Story
Meet Peanut!! Peanut is a beautiful 4 year old shepherd mix and weighs 63 pounds. This beautiful girl found herself and her 2 six month old puppies at a high kill shelter on the euthanasia list. The day all 3 were set to be euthanized her 2 puppies were saved but she was not. Minutes away from being killed she began to have another litter of puppies. That litter of 7 puppies saved her life for a few more weeks. When her time was up at the foster home, she and the 2 puppies left were set to go back to the high kill shelter where they would again, be on the euthanasia list. Peanut and her 2 puppies were rescued and came to Ohio to look for their forever homes. Peanut does not have to worry ever again about being back at that shelter and wondering if someone was going to step in and save her life. She is safe and has been given a second chance to find her forever home and the loving family that she deserves Peanut is an amazing girl who loves nothing more than to be in a yard with several balls or to be snuggling up against her human. Again, she loves balls and can be outside all day long playing catch if given the opportunity. She is still very much a puppy herself in that she does love to play and be active. She does well with walks but can pull at times in the leash. She is crate and house trained and loves chewy toys and treats. Peanut would be an amazing addition to any family. She just wants to love and be loved. If interested in meeting Peanut please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org!
