Good with kids, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Female German Shepherd, approximately 6–7 years old, looking for a loving and responsible home. We have had her since she was a puppy after purchasing her from a breeder in Columbus. She is spayed, microchipped, potty trained, and crate trained. She has lived with our 5 children and has always done very well with them. She also does fine around our cat and usually pays little attention to him. She is a very loyal and protective dog. A few years ago we sent her to professional training, and since then she has become more protective around food and while on a leash. She may bark or growl if another animal approaches her food bowl, and she can become nervous and go into “protect mode” if strangers approach while she is being walked. She has never bitten anyone. Because of her personality, we believe she would do best with an experienced owner, preferably as the only dog or with larger non-dominant dogs. fee may be waived for the right person after talking and determining it is a good fit.

Story
Meet Bear 🐻💙 At first glance, Bear can look a little intimidating — tall ears, serious face, that classic German Shepherd presence. But give him about 30 seconds and you’ll see the truth: Bear is just a big love wrapped in a “tough guy” package. Bear is 2½ years old and absolutely thrives once he feels safe. He loves affection, leans in for pets, and bonds deeply with his people. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be near you, quietly loyal and incredibly sweet. Bear would do best in a home with a secure privacy fence, where he can feel protected and relaxed while enjoying time outdoors. With the right space and a patient, loving family, Bear will blossom into the devoted companion he’s meant to be. Behind the strong exterior is a dog who just wants a chance — a chance to belong, to be loved, and to finally have a home to call his own. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a heart as big as his paws, Bear is waiting 🖤🐾

Story
Howdy, Cowboy! Cowboy came to the shelter as a stray, so his history is largely unknown. Based on what staff have observed, he appears to be a 1½-year-old intact male Shepherd mix with a sweet and affectionate personality. This handsome boy loves getting attention and enjoys spending time outdoors, where he can explore the world around him. Cowboys seem comfortable around the other dogs at the shelter and is currently learning how to walk on a leash. With his loving nature and young age, he has great potential to become a wonderful companion for the right family. He did great for his exam where he weighs in at 85 lbs. and was given Bordatella, parvo/lepto/distemper vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and is heartworm negative. Our adoptions are $100 cash/check. Visiting hours are Monday–Friday 8:00am–11:45am and 1:00pm–4:00pm. We are located at 5066 County Home Rd., Greenville, OH 45331. You can reach us at 937-547-1645
