Story
They call me Hoot because I like to use my pretty singing voice to get your attention. At 9 years old, I`m a pretty chill guy. I like to sniff around and then sleep in a comfy bed. I like short walks and human attention, but I still like my independence. I have a lot of friends here at the shelter! I have been known to hang out at the front desk and greet all the people coming in and out. If you think your home might be the place for me to spend my golden days, come to the shelter and meet me!

Story
My name is Amory. I was rescued from a breeding operation where I was found neglected, used for profit and then forgotten about. Miami Valley Pit Crew heard about me when one of their shelter partners reached out for help. MVPC swooped in and decided to bring me in until the most perfect home could be found. I am a stunning lady, but don’t let my looks fool you, I love to get down and dirty like any good GSD does. I keep my crate clean and dry, and as long as I’m kept on a schedule, won’t have any accidents in my home. I would love an active family with a big yard to patrol. ADOPTION FEE: $350 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested and on prevention, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained) ADOPTER: Dog experience FENCE: Required (an electric fence is not an acceptable form of containment) DOG FRIENDLY: Yes! DOGS IN HOME: Yes, can be solo CATS: No, I will chase! CHILDREN: Yes, 8 and over Adoption radius is 75 miles from Dayton, OH I AM READY TO GO HOME!! If you are approved to be my new family, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $350 when MVPC comes to visit your house with me! INQUIRIES: ALL inquiries begin with a submitted adoption application, which is found on our website, www.miamivalleypitcrew.com. We do not adopt to individuals under the age of 25. DO NOT: USE THE PETFINDER CONTACT/ADOPT BUTTONS--we are unable to monitor those and you will not receive a response. PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case-by-case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding! Story
Hello there, my name is Gage! I came to MVPC from a 3 strikes and you're out family. First strike, they kept me outside in a kennel my whole life where I caught a couple different parasitic infections. Second strike, they taught me nothing. Third strike, they weren't very nice to me. Thank goodness I wound up here! I'll be honest with you, I'm a high energy work in progress. Luckily, I'm also a smart guy who wants to please you. I just have a lot to learn, and I got started a little late. I am super sweet and am finding that positive attention is the bee's knees! I am adjusting to being a house dog, and I like it! I'm picking up on my commands, and learning to settle down. Leash manners and being less mouthy are also on my agenda. I don't really like my crate after 3 years in a kennel, but I am doing a little better every day. I do have my potty manners down! Other dogs are pretty awesome, but I need to learn proper play. I don't know much about cats yet. I want to be with you or near you at all times - I absolutely need a family with GSD experience that will understand me and my needs because I don't really understand them myself yet. But I am willing and anxious to find out. If you are looking for a loyal and loving new pal and are willing to help me become the best version of a GSD, I would love to meet you! ADOPTION FEE: $400 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested and on prevention, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained) ADOPTER: Dog experience BIRTHDAY: 8/21/20 FENCE: Required (an electric fence is not an acceptable form of containment) DOG FRIENDLY: Yes! Story
Hi! My name is Judge. I was surrendered to the shelter with my brother Jacoby by a backyard breeder at only 5 weeks old. I’m getting to be a big boy now and am ready to find my family. I am a typical shepherd puppy and don’t have an off switch. I can get very vocal but it's just because I have so much to say! I love to explore and get into things. I have had a great start at socialization and am very brave in new experiences. My favorite past time is digging holes and climbing on things. I am crate trained and am working very hard on learning my commands. I'm good at sharing my toys and even do good with the cat! My new family must understand my needs and what it will take to make me a happy, well adjusted adult. Daily vigorous exercise, and exposure to new things is a must. I'm going to be a big boy. Right now I’m all legs and ears, but that won’t last long. I am still young and working very hard my house training (so I may still have accidents). ADOPTION FEE: $400 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested and on prevention, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained) I AM READY TO GO HOME!! My new family must understand my needs and what it will take to make me a happy, well adjusted adult. Daily vigorous exercise, and exposure to new things is a must. You may be questioning my blue eye… it’s likely a recessive gene. I am going to be a big boy. Right now I’m all legs and ears, but that won’t last long. I am completely crate trained and housebroken. Hi, my name is Zeppelin! My nickname is "Zippy Zeppelin" because I like to run really fast. My favorite activities include playing tag, exploring outside while hiking, running really fast, chasing balls, chewing on sticks and bones, cuddling and looking cute. You know, the typical GSD stuff. I get along really well with people and dogs, haven't met a cat yet. New places, like stores, can be tricky sometimes, but I really like going to Lowe's! With enough training, I could hold a flashlight, fetch tools and even supervise -I'm pretty smart!
