*I am currently in foster! Please call the shelter if you`d like to meet me!*Hello! My name is Dempsey! If you are looking for an incredibly smart, heartbreakingly handsome, snuggly, cuddly pup, then I am your guy! I am a very sweet boy looking for a forever family. I love meeting new people and making new friends, I truly get along with pretty much everyone I meet. I am very active, energetic, and quite athletic. I love to chase toys, play fetch, and find pesky squeakers to squeak! I love to train and spend a lot of my time learning new skills here. If you have owned a shepherd before, you know that my mind is sharp and ready to work, and I can`t stand to feel bored or lazy. I want to learn new things and you know what? I`m really good at it! When I`m not learning or training, I can usually be found in an office here at the shelter. I am so well-behaved, I am an office fave! I am polite, sweet, and give the best cuddles. I am already housebroken and crate trained, and I am wonderful with the medical team (they say I`m the goodest boy around). I do need to be the only animal in my forever home and I need a family who enjoys working with a smarty-pants like me. If you have have owned a shepherd or similar breed before, you`ll be the best fit for me. I need a special family who can spend time with me, train me, cuddle me, and take me on adventures. Come meet me today! Here`s what the staff have to say about Dempsey, `Dempsey has the best hugs. He will cuddle right in and snuggle you up. He`s fun to train and teach new things and he`s always cracking us up. If I share a little snicky-snacky with him, he`ll eat what`s in the container and then bring me the empty container! He is so affectionate and is always happiest when he has someone to hang out with. He`s just the coolest dude.`If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals

Story
Uraso is a pure bread protection dog. He was born in Germany. We have 14 generations back on his bloodline. He won several awards being a Schutzhund ( a protection dog). We bought him three years ago from a dog trainer in Ohio. He isn't good with other dogs. He would do best with someone who has time to take him out and provide a fenced yard for him to run around.

Story
2-year-old Male Black German Shepherd - Needs Loving Home This sweet, affectionate male black German Shepherd is looking for a new home due to unexpected financial hardship and downsizing to a smaller home. He is 2 years old, extremely loving, and thrives on attention. He is good with other dogs and has been around children, though he can sometimes be possessive of food or toys, so continued structure and training would be ideal. He has not been around cats, so we are unsure how he would do in a home with them. He iss a beautiful boy with a lot of potential in the right home, ideally with someone experienced with German Shepherds who can give him the care and boundaries he deserves.

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Zuri. I'm about 1 1/2 years old and I weigh about 55 lbs. My sister Zara and I were dropped off here at the pound after hours, so our back story is unknown. When we first came in, we were very timid, we didn't know how to walk on leashes or know how to do pretty much any other "normal" dog stuff. We've really came out of our shells since our arrival here at the pound. We are doing well with walking on leashes. We are also a good bit more social around people. We've been pretty good around the other dogs we've met as well, but the pound does always recommend meet and greets with any other dogs you may own to make sure we get along well. We will definitely need patient families that can take the time to work with us on basic obedience, potty training and all the other stuff we will need with having not been well socialized. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable.
