Story
Ralph is a smaller shepherd mix who is around a year old. He weighs about 40 pounds at the moment. But is still very thin. He was found on the side of the road and was thought to be dead. As I approached he attempted to live but was unable too as he had been hit by a car. He couldn't walk so I quickly wrapped him in my jacket and rushed him to the nearest vet. They informed me he had broken his pelvis in three places. The poor guy was skin and bones and scared of absolutely everything (most likely feral). He was put on crate rest and continued to be nervous and scared around any person or dog that came close. Slowly he has opened up and began trusting us. Although he still gets nervous at times he is extremely food motivated and that is the easiest way to win him over. He loves head and neck scratches as well. A complete sweetheart once he trusts you. He would thrive in a quiet home with a more confident dog or no dog at all. He has food aggression with any food that touches the ground and this should be closely monitored if in a multiple dog household. He can be friendly with other dogs but it takes a day or two for him to warm up to them. He is kennel trained and potty trained. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Local adoption only

Story
Hey! Have a seat and let me tell you more about me and my journey! My name is Ella, and as you can see I am a gorgeous German shepherd mixed girl, 65# of love and GSD personality :) If you love shepherds you know the breed- we are loving and goofy, hairy and protective- all rolled into one! I am typical of the breed, and so I need a shepherd knowledgeable family! I love my peeps, don't get me wrong, I just feel I need to protect my peeps too- duh, it's GENETIC! However, YOU need to be in charge, cause I am not a good leader :) OK, so on to the fun stuff! I am a happy go lucky girl, I am great with other dogs and love kids. I am 3 yrs old and was saved by my rescue in 2020. I was adopted shortly thereafter but returned to the rescue last month because I thought I was in charge and a protector.... SO, I am back in the adoption arena and ready for just the right family to love me for who I am, but not let me be in charge :) Simple enough, if you are that family then ADOPT ME!!!! HURRY! See you soon!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Sweet Calista came to us with her little family of siblings. Caught roaming the streets we were able to capture them all and get them safe from starvation. Calista is a shy girl. She is going to require someone who has patience and understanding. In a matter or a minute her world was flipped upside down going from having to hunt and scavenge for food to a kennel and food and a bed. It was a lot for a little puppy to take in that had been on her own for so long. She is slowly opening up to her foster mom and every now and then will let her get on her level and come over for some pets/ licks of the hand. Treats and smelling like hot dogs/ peanut butter helps! Calista loves other dogs and gets along great with her foster homes pack. She is playful and energetic with them. Sometimes maybe too energetic as she can be an escape artist and find even the smallest of holes in the fence to see if she can fit and make a b-line to the neighbors house! Calista will need to stay local to Texas for the time being. Each day she is gaining confidence and understanding and realizing that people are not all mean and that there ares some out there that really do love dogs and want nothing but goodness for them. If you think you are ready to give Calista love, attention and help her build trust and confidence in herself and you then please apply!

Story
Poor Bella was seen being dumped by her owner on a commercial street where big rigs constantly are passing through. It took a few days for us to build her trust to bring her to safety in our yard. Full of ticks and fleas we were able to clean her and give her love and attention which by the looks of it she never had love since she had the collar marks embedded into her fur where she had been tied up :( Bella loves toys and gets the zoomies when excited. She loves to run so preferably go to someone with a big yard or an active person. She is always high alert so she is always taking care of the house. She is very loyal to her person and shows how grateful she is to her foster family. She has her own personality and just wants love attention and she is ready to be spoiled by her forever family. * she will need a 6 foot fence * she does get along with dogs but gets jealous about her person *no cats *loves to Play in kiddie pool *walks on leash ok but still learning not to pull Bella Marie deserves a real home and will be your most loyal buddy ever!!! Love me back and that is a recipe for an AMAZING LIFE!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they are adopted. ALL our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Sandy - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Sandy after Sandy Olsson from Grease. My vocals might not be as good but when I get excited I got the dance moves down, just like Sandy. I'm dreaming of 'Summer Nights' and winter mornings in a home of my own. No more 'Tears On My Pillow' now that I've found a family to love me and cuddle with me and give me belly rubs and oh yeah, some tasty treats too, please! I'm about 2 years old and that perfect medium size of 38lbs. An active gal I am and looking for an active family to go on adventures. 'We Go Together' like two peas in a pod! 'You're The One That I Want' to spend my days having the time of our lives. Then back home for my favoritest time, yep you guessed it, snuggletime!!! With some daily exercise, I should do well in a home in town, out in the country or anywhere in between. Are you looking for that soul mate that is happy doing anything as long as we can do it together? Look no further, I could be your gal!!!!

Story
Meet beautiful "Harriet", she is a 6 year old German Shepherd, weighing 80 pounds. She was surrendered of not fault of her own. Harriet will require a home with shepherd experience, she does have a high prey drive, and is an escape artist so a secured fenced yard would be most beneficial. Harriet will need follow up care for her medical needs. She just loves everyone she meets, and walks nicely on a leash. Harriet will need to meet any other dogs in the family and no children under 10.

Story
I've had Kingston since he was 11 weeks old. Him and my other dog(American Staffordshire terrier), started having issues when he was 4 months old and only escalated as he got older. We tried getting him neutered but it didn't help. They have a few severe fights resulting in Kingston needing surgery and drains. Since then they have been separated and we've gotten a trainer involved. A year later they still don't get along. It's not fair that they have to stay in their kennels all the time. Kingston is dog reactive as a result of this and would be best in a home with little chaos, no dogs, no children, fenced in yard. He is able to goto the groomer and he has been boarded as well with no issues. He is currently being trained on a herm-sprenger collar. We are working on socialization but it is a slow process. He is a very sweet boy and loves to play in the right environment. He requires very slow introductions. Very good motivated.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hello, my name is Muffin! I recently needed to be returned and I`m looking for my new forever home. I do not do well with other animals so I should be the only pet in my new home. I display some guarding behaviors when I am behind a barrier. Other than those two things most of my other behaviors seem to be what should be expected from a German Shepherd. I would most likely do best in a quiet home with adults only. Please keep checking my profile for updates as the staff gets to know me better! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neuteringAdoption fee: $135.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2022 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. The cost of the license is $7.00. (Senior Citizen or Person with Disability-$5.00)Leash and collar included

Story
We are looking to rehome our 3-year-old German Shepherd mix. He is great with other dogs and most children, a good hiking buddy, a loyal protector, and eager to please. He has been a great dog, but we need to go back to having one dog for a multitude of reasons. He would do best in a home where he has a fence to roam and/or can be walked a lot (preferably for 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week). He is up to date with shots. And, he has been through a few months of a basic training class. He's probably best in a home with children 4 and up. If you can give him a good home, we're willing to drive him to you (we're praying for a good home for him). He's a great buddy!!

These pups are in Carnegie, Pennsylvania too!
