Story
Meet Emma (aka Emma Bean) Breed: Mixed Breed (Shepherd mix suspected) Personality: Gentle • Introverted • Sensitive Energy Level: Low Gets along great with other dogs and ignores cats Emma is a quiet, soulful girl who prefers calm spaces, soft blankets, and a predictable routine. She is the definition of an introvert’s introvert—thoughtful, observant, and slow to trust, but deeply loyal once she feels safe. Emma did not have an easy start in life and has experienced hardships early on. She was originally found with her seven tiny puppies. A good samaritan took her in during this time and cared for her and pups until it was time for puppies to be adopted. All of her puppies have been adopted and Emma has since been spayed and up to date on vaccines. We do not know a lot about where she came from but guessing she roamed the streets not knowing where her next meal may come from. She approaches new people and situations cautiously. She is not fearful or aggressive—she simply needs time and patience. What Emma Loves Peaceful environments and quiet companionship Cozy corners and comfy places to relax - a nearby couch or bed Gentle belly rubs Treats and snacks Calm, understanding people What Emma Needs Space to adjust at her own pace A low-chaos home environment Calm animal companions (She is being fostered right now in a home with 7 other pups and gets along beautifully with all of them... They are all couch potatoes) Emma’s Best Qualities Low energy and easygoing indoors Fully leash trained Potty trained Not destructive—no chewing shoes or getting into trash Does not steal food (with the rare exception of unattended cheese) Ideal Home Calm, quiet household Patient adopter who understands that trust takes time A fenced yard, as Emma enjoys having space to comfortably do her business without pressure No wild toddlers or overly chaotic pets; relaxed, respectful animals are welcome Final Thoughts Emma is not broken—she is simply introverted. She does not need perfection, just consistency and kindness. She may not bond instantly, but with time, she will show her affection in subtle, meaningful ways: waiting at the door when you come home, resting her head on your foot, or quietly sharing space beside you. Emma will be a deeply rewarding companion—proof that the slowest bonds are often the strongest. Emma is being fostered in Mississippi but can be transported to you. Our rescue sends dogs and kitties on transport to Pittsburgh every 3 weeks. Please reach out if you are interested in learning more about Emma!

Meet Flacko ******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you area not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Flacko is a neutered , 8 month old male German Shepherd Dog mix, weighing around 40lbs. He is in a foster home in Houston , TX, and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is found. Handsome Flacko is a a certified good boy! He LOVES people, dogs and really wants the foster cat to be his buddy. He may have too much enthusiasm for most kitties to enjoy however. He’s a quick learner & he just wants to please you. All he’s missing now is his forever person! This energetic pup is a bit of a wild man when playing with his dog friends (15-60lbs), but is great at reading their cues and respecting their boundaries. Flacko got an A++ from Doggie Daycare Playgroups and enjoys snuggling with a smaller puppy friend. Flacko has been great with his foster’s 10 year old nephew and they feel he’d enjoy a human sibling to play with. He is working on his puppy manners, jumping and pulling on a leash, so would need to be supervised around the smaller kiddos. After a rollicking play session, Flacko loves getting cuddle time with his people, rolling over to show his belly! He is a HUGE fan of pool time and will entertain himself with his favorite toys. This good boy is house and crate trained and will flourish with an experienced adopter that will help him navigate the world with confidence. Flacko is ready to win your heart, and we can’t wait to watch him grow up in a loving forever home! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him? WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌼🐾 Meet Daisy — Sunshine in Fur Form, Ready to Bloom in a Home 🐾🌼 Daisy is a 1-year-old, ~40-pound sweetheart who has spent her entire puppyhood waiting for something most dogs never have to wait for — a family to call her own. Born into an unwanted litter, Daisy and her siblings grew up without the comfort of couches, bedtime snuggles, or humans who made them feel chosen. But despite it all, Daisy’s heart stayed soft, hopeful, and full of love. Daisy is gentle, affectionate, and wonderfully friendly, with a playful side that comes out once she feels safe. She does great with other dogs and kids, and has a calm, loving presence that makes you want to sit down beside her and stay awhile. She’s the kind of dog who leans in close, quietly soaking up affection like she’s making up for lost time. Her mom is a heeler/border collie mix around 40 lbs, and dad? Well… dad was apparently a traveling salespup, charming his way through town and leaving us with a mystery — possibly shepherd, possibly heartthrob, definitely good looks. Whatever the mix, Daisy inherited the best parts: brains, athleticism, and a deep desire to be close to her people. Daisy would love an active but loving home — one that enjoys walks, playtime, and adventures, but also understands the magic of slowing down and just being together. She’s ready to learn, eager to please, and so excited to finally experience what it means to be part of a family. 🐕 Daisy’s Darling Details: ✅ 1 year old, ~40 lbs ✅ Sweet, gentle, and affectionate ✅ Great with dogs and kids ✅ Playful with a calm, loving heart ✅ Smart and ready to learn ✅ Has waited patiently for her chance at a home Daisy is ready to bloom into the best version of herself — all she needs is someone willing to give her the love she’s been missing. ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and help Daisy finally plant her paws where she belongs: right in your heart and home. 🌼🐾

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Jameson – a Shepherd/Aussie dream boat! Jameson is 6 months old, about 22 pounds, and comes with an amazing combination of breeds. His dad was a purebred German Shepherd and her mom was a Mini Australian Shepherd, giving him the intelligence, loyalty, and athletic ability these breeds are famous for. If you love smart dogs who bond deeply with their people, Jameson is going to steal your heart. He may be a little shy at first, but once he feels safe he quickly turns affectionate and loves to be near his humans. In his foster home, it took less than a day before he started seeking attention and settling in. ✨ Why his mix is so special: • Extremely intelligent • Eager to learn and please • Naturally people-focused • Athletic and fun • Devoted, Velcro-dog potential Jameson is very food motivated and has already mastered sit, which is a huge indicator of how trainable he will be. With his genetics, he would likely excel in obedience, tricks, agility, hiking adventures, or any activity that lets him use his brain. He’s in his teenage phase, so curiosity sometimes gets the best of him — especially if food is involved. But with structure and consistency, he’ll mature into an incredibly well-mannered companion. He did wonderfully with children at his adoption event and gets along nicely with the other dogs in his foster home. Jameson is almost housebroken and just needs his forever family to help him finish the job. If you’ve been hoping for a loyal, brilliant, loving dog with that classic Shepherd devotion and Aussie smarts, Jameson is ready to wiggle his way into your heart and home! Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Jameson brighten your days and bring boundless joy into your life!!

We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Meet Tommy – The Gentle Giant with the Million-Dollar Smile Tommy is a 3-year-old, 75-pound German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his grin. He was rescued from an overcrowded Houston shelter and came to us extremely shy, fearful, and unsure of the world- likely the result of a very troubled past. For months, he needed very patient, gentle fosters to help him feel safe. Because he was given that time, love, and consistency, Tommy has blossomed into the sweetest, calmest, most loyal companion. But it’s important for future adopters to know: Tommy absolutely requires a slow warm-up. He needs people who understand that trust for him is built quietly, steadily, and on his timeline. Once he lets you in, though… it’s magic. In his foster home, Tommy quickly found comfort in his kennel, learned to use the doggy door, and chose an elevated bed as his favorite spot. He’s a slow-paced, easygoing guy who loves lounging on the porch, stretching in the sunshine, and - his signature move - lifting his face to sniff the breeze with a big, content smile. Tommy will likely thrive best in a home with another confident, friendly dog. He adores following another dog’s lead, which helps him feel braver and more secure during new experiences. As his foster family, we LOVE Tommy deeply. We are committed to being an ongoing resource for his success. If, for any reason, the adoption isn’t the right fit, please reach out - we will gladly take Tommy back and continue fostering him to ensure he finds the most perfect home. If you’re looking for a calm, gentle soul who will be your quiet shadow, your breeze-sniffing porch buddy, and your loyal friend once he trusts you, Tommy may be the perfect match you’ve been waiting for. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 💙🐾 Meet Scout — A Loyal Heart Ready to Finally Belong 🐾💙 Scout is a 1-year-old, 40-pound bundle of sweetness who has somehow grown up without one very important thing… a family of his own. Born into an unwanted litter, Scout and his siblings missed out on the comforts most puppies take for granted — couches, bedtime routines, and humans who call them theirs. But somehow, Scout never let that dim his spirit. Scout is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and playful, with a heart that’s clearly been saving up love just waiting for the right people. He’s great with other dogs and kids, and greets life with a wagging tail and a hopeful look that says, “Is this my family?” His mom is a heeler/border collie mix around 40 lbs, and dad? Well… dad was apparently a traveling salespup, charming his way through town and leaving us with a mystery — possibly shepherd, possibly heartthrob, definitely good looks. Whatever the mix, Scout inherited the best parts: brains, athleticism, and a deep desire to be close to his people. Scout is playful and energetic, and would thrive with an active family who enjoys walks, adventures, games, and the kind of everyday moments that mean everything to a dog who’s waited so long. He’s the type who will happily run beside you one minute and lean his whole body into you the next, just to be sure you know how grateful he is. 🐕 Scout’s Highlights: ✅ 1 year old, 40 lbs ✅ Sweet, affectionate, and people-loving ✅ Great with dogs and kids ✅ Playful and active — adventure buddy approved ✅ Smart, eager, and ready to learn ✅ Missed out on puppyhood comforts, but not on love Scout doesn’t want to miss another second of what he’s waited his whole life for — a home, a family, and someone to love him back just as fiercely as he’ll love them. ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give Scout the happy ending he’s been scouting for all along. 🐾💙
