Story
Clive is a handsome male black German Shepherd with a calm, gentle spirit and a heart as big as his paws. This sweet boy enjoys getting out for walks and has lovely leash manners—he walks right by your side without pulling, making strolls with him relaxed and enjoyable. Clive has a soft, easygoing personality and loves spending time with his people. He’s the kind of dog who’s happy to join you for a walk around the neighborhood and then settle down nearby while you relax. His gentle nature makes him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal and steady friend. If you’re searching for a well-mannered, affectionate companion who will walk happily by your side, Clive might just be the perfect match. Come meet this sweet boy and see if he’s the one you’ve been looking for!Few can resist a puppy. These adorable, soft bundles of energy are similar to four-legged children with tails. And like children, puppies need a lot of time, care, love, and patience. A puppy will depend on you for frequent and regular feedings and walks, for guidance and training, and for much of your time and your love. Before you plunge into puppy parenthood, make sure to research! There are many rewards to caring for a puppy, but there are also many requirements. Puppy classes are highly recommended for socialization and a positive transition into your home. Puppies love to learn how to be the best dog for your family! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- Initial DHPP vaccination- Rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24-Petwatch microchipping- Flea treatment/preventative- Spaying or Neutering-Heartworm testingAdoption fee: $185.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2026 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. Story
*I am currrently in foster! Please contact the shelter if you`d like to meet me!*Meet Dempsey – Your Smart, Snuggly Sidekick! Looking for a loyal best friend with brains and good looks? Let us introduce you to Dempsey, our handsome 3-year-old German Shepherd mix who is ready to find his perfect person.Dempsey is incredibly smart and loves having a job to do. Whether it’s chasing a ball, learning new tricks, or exploring the great outdoors, this guy thrives when his mind and body stay active. A home that can provide plenty of physical exercise and mental enrichment will help Dempsey shine. But don’t let his athletic side fool you—Dempsey is also a world-class cuddle champion. After a good play session, he’s more than happy to curl up on the couch and soak up all the snuggles he can get. He loves playing ball and running around in the snow, making winter his personal playground.Dempsey has been patiently waiting at the shelter for quite some time, and we would love to see him finally head home with someone who understands and appreciates him. Because Dempsey is such a smart and driven dog, he will do best with a confident, experienced handler who can set clear boundaries and provide structure. With consistent guidance and leadership, Dempsey thrives and is able to make the best choices and show off what an amazing companion he can be.What Dempsey is looking for in a home: An experienced dog owner (breed experience preferred), A firm but loving handler who will provide structure and boundaries, A home without other animals, No young childrenSomeone committed to giving him the exercise, structure, and enrichment he needs Because Dempsey forms strong bonds and we want to make sure it’s the perfect match, multiple meet-and-greets will be required. Story
Meet Emma (aka Emma Bean) Breed: Mixed Breed (Shepherd mix suspected) Personality: Gentle • Introverted • Sensitive Energy Level: Low Gets along great with other dogs and ignores cats Emma is a quiet, soulful girl who prefers calm spaces, soft blankets, and a predictable routine. She is the definition of an introvert’s introvert—thoughtful, observant, and slow to trust, but deeply loyal once she feels safe. Emma did not have an easy start in life and has experienced hardships early on. She was originally found with her seven tiny puppies. A good samaritan took her in during this time and cared for her and pups until it was time for puppies to be adopted. All of her puppies have been adopted and Emma has since been spayed and up to date on vaccines. We do not know a lot about where she came from but guessing she roamed the streets not knowing where her next meal may come from. She approaches new people and situations cautiously. She is not fearful or aggressive—she simply needs time and patience. What Emma Loves Peaceful environments and quiet companionship Cozy corners and comfy places to relax - a nearby couch or bed Gentle belly rubs Treats and snacks Calm, understanding people What Emma Needs Space to adjust at her own pace A low-chaos home environment Calm animal companions (She is being fostered right now in a home with 7 other pups and gets along beautifully with all of them... They are all couch potatoes) Emma’s Best Qualities Low energy and easygoing indoors Fully leash trained Potty trained Not destructive—no chewing shoes or getting into trash Does not steal food (with the rare exception of unattended cheese) Ideal Home Calm, quiet household Patient adopter who understands that trust takes time A fenced yard, as Emma enjoys having space to comfortably do her business without pressure No wild toddlers or overly chaotic pets; relaxed, respectful animals are welcome Final Thoughts Emma is not broken—she is simply introverted. She does not need perfection, just consistency and kindness. She may not bond instantly, but with time, she will show her affection in subtle, meaningful ways: waiting at the door when you come home, resting her head on your foot, or quietly sharing space beside you. Emma will be a deeply rewarding companion—proof that the slowest bonds are often the strongest. Emma is being fostered in Mississippi but can be transported to you. Our rescue sends dogs and kitties on transport to Pittsburgh every 3 weeks. Please reach out if you are interested in learning more about Emma!
