Story
We are so excited to introduce Luna. This absolute charmer is a 6-year-old German Shepherd mix. Luna was extremely loved by her owner, and they had a deep bond; however, her owner was involved in a devastating accident that left the owner hospitalized and unable to care for Luna. Luna was out of sorts at the shelter. She doesn’t like being crated and wants to be near people. She has been in a foster home for the last month and is thriving! Luna is incredibly friendly and easy-going and has been a wonderful house guest. She loves running in the snow and going on long walks. While she is unphased by other dogs who walk by her while on a leash, Luna must be the only pet in the home because she doesn’t want to share her human’s attention! Luna is a big girl at 106 lbs., but needs to lose weight, so she should be with an owner who can provide her with a healthy lifestyle. Luna must undergo Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) surgery, which will be provided by PK. Although she cannot be formally adopted until surgery is complete, we are open to foster-to-adopt arrangements to help get her into a loving home as soon as possible. Even though Luna has been through a heartbreaking loss, she still has so much love to give and can’t wait to find another family with whom to develop a deep bond. Whoever adopts her is going to end up with a new best friend! Apply to adopt Luna at lvpeaceablekingdom.info. Peaceable Kingdom, PA Kennel License #04131, 1049 MacArthur Rd., Whitehall, PA 18052

Story
Meet Allie! Our vet estimates her to be 8yrs old and she has been spayed. Allie weighs about 50lbs.  We wanted the vet to check her right eye since it presents somewhat smaller than the left eye. The vet agreed that it was most likely trauma from goodness knows how long ago. Upon testing, she does have limited sight in that eye but nothing that really effects her.  She has gone through and recovered from much needed FHO surgery since she had some old trauma to her right rear leg as well as treatment for Lyme.  She absolutely adores attention from people so we think she didn't have much in her past :( She walks fine on a leash and is housetrained. Occasionally you'll see her with a toy but it's not a standard thing for her. The foster she is with is certain that right now, she is the most grateful dog in the house - her sighs of contentment while getting a belly rub for no reason says it all.  While she currently lives with other dogs in fostercare, it took us months for her to accept and trust them. But with slow & steady crate rotations, introductions & limited interactions, she has become part of the pack.  She should not be in a home with cats though is our gut feeling.  Check out our site for an application to make Allie a part of your family and FaceBook for adoption event details. (www.endingthesadness.org) Our adoption fee is $325 and all of our pets come with full vet records. All animals are up to date on vaccinations & dewormed. Please keep in mind we are a Rescue Group and most of our pups come to us with little or no background info regarding breed, eventual size, age or prior health issues. We rely on the expertise of our veterinarians and make estimates based on past experience. Also, when you're adopting from a Rescue, you should ask questions! You should always get shot/medication records and the rescue should have had the dog for a bit of time to check for disease. Take the time to educate yourself before adopting. A reputable rescue will have nothing to hide and will answer ALL your questions!!! Please visit our Web Site to see all of the pets we have for adoption. Our site contains information about our adoption process and fees, our application, and answers to frequently asked questions. Please read it carefully before contacting us. If you are interested in adopting THIS wonderful pet, we strongly encourage you to complete our adoption application now. Once we receive and approve your application, we will notify you of approval. The first application to be received and approved will get 1st choice - be sure that your references are available and willing to speak with us. Thank You Visit us at one of our next adoption days. Details are on our site under the How to Adopt tab. Hope to see you there!April 7, 2024, 12:07 am

NOTE:  If you see this post, we are still taking applications.  If interested, please visit our site directly rather than going thru a search engine like PetFinder to show interest or fill out an app - they are not affiliated with us, we just post there and many other places. Hey y'all!  My name is Lager - nice to meet ya!  I come from the great state of KY, but being in rural NJ is a lot like where I was born on 5/24/2022 - I'm still just a youngster.  I can't even imagine city life & think it would be too scary for me.  My fostermom says I live thru my belly - there's no shame in liking food & treats in my book.  Heck, I'll figure out how to do just about anything for a reward!  I'm told that I'm goofy in a good way (whatever that means), but my fostermom always seems to be laughing at my shenanigans.  The fosterhome I live in has other dogs and a fenced yard and there are tons of toys to chew on 'cause I still like to do that too.  My leash training is limited, but I've been told that there may be treats involved in learning about it so sign me up!  If you talk to me I look & listen with a head tilt, but I gotta be honest I haven't mastered all the words other than my name, go potty, put that down & good boy.  In general, I've been told that I'm the strong, silent type of pup and I'm fairly laid back for my age.  Are you my furever home? He needs training at this point so if you are interested in making him a part of your home and have the time & patience to teach him how to be the perfect companion, visit our site (endingthesadness.org) to submit an application to be considered. REQUIREMENTS:  Adopters must be within 2hrs driving distance, have recent dog experience, no young children please, and are home more often than not.April 7, 2024, 12:07 am
