Story
Shotz will be 9 years old in January of 2026. She is active, loving and intelligent. She would probably do best as the only pet, but is a good fit with a large male dog she cannot bully. She is not a fit with a female dog that will not submit to her. We believe she is a GSD/Chocolate Lab mix, mostly shepherd though. She is good with cats and strangers. She tends to steer clear of children when they are here, but no signs of aggression. The reason we are in need of rehoming is that she has again attacked our smaller female dog, causing injuries. She had not done this in 2 1/2 years and so we thought she was past this. She has not shown aggression towards any of our cats, nor our male dog. She was last seen by our veterinarian on 11/5. she is 74 lbs and is up to date on her shots for 3 years. She loves to be outside with her people, whether working in the yard, sitting outside, or on a walk. That is her very favorite thing.

Dean recently had a day out to the park with one of our volunteers and here's how it went: Meet Dean, James Dean. Just kidding, it’s just Dean. However this guy is a heartthrob ?. Dean is a sweet dog that does well with people and other dogs. I had the pleasure of taking Dean out for an afternoon. At our first stop, we encountered one of my neighbors with their dog. Dean did amazing! He went over to sniff, was wagging his tail and even knew to back away when the other dog growled (it was older and was upset about not going on its potty walk). Dean said hello to both the man and women walking their dog and had no issues with either gender. I had other friends walk to the car and say hello and were able to love on him as well. We then went to a park that had little kids ridding bikes and rollerblading past us. While the “wheels” were scary, we just moved out of the way and kept a curious eye until they were a safe distance away. Dean seemed to settle more at the end and started demanding a lot more attention, including forcing pets by rubbing up against my hand if I got distracted, which of course I apologized for. I got a ton of kisses during this time and saw him attempt to play with a ball, although he seemed a bit unsure what to do with it. He concluded the day by eating about half a bag of pup-peroni, which might be the fastest way to this dog’s heart. Dean is a sweet dog that let his kind nature shine thought out the whole day with every person and dog he met. He will make an amazing companion and friend, whose love for you will only rank behind his love of pup-peroni. Dean is a 1 year old Shepherd mix and is just the sweetest boy.   The rescue story of our perfect German Shepherd boy called Aries as told by his foster mom. He is about 6-7 years and just under 80 pounds: Aries is probably the happiest dog I’ve ever had! He has a lot to celebrate and I think he knows it… I heard that a GSD was at a full local “kill” shelter and made up my mind to rescue him when I heard he had 1 more day.When I went to the shelter to pick him up, his demeanor was to maintain his distance. You could tell he was confused and on his back foot about where he was and why. Then he got a whiff of my farm boots and the great outdoors and his expression changed.Upon arrival at my farm, his personality came alive. I turned him loose in a big grassy field and he ran and sniffed and explored, always coming back to check in with me to make sure I was ok with his enthusiasm!!Since that day he has never looked back. The freedom and carefree abandon he is experiencing is evident in his happy eyes and tail wags.His best friends are two Heelers who he frolics with for hours. His most favorite toy is a big blue ball that he happily plays with when everyone else is resting. Every morning and evening when I feed him he expresses gratitude with wags and a loving lick or two to my face.The best situation for him would be a home with a big yard and lots of room to run and play. He is is a mature and settled, calm dog who has thrived here with me and his new dog friends.
