Story
Meet Cherry!  Cherry is a beautiful 2-year-old female black German Shepherd mix who should weigh around 70 pounds once fully filled out. She welcomed a litter of 11 puppies in late November and has truly been an incredible mama from start to finish. Cherry is vaccinated and will be spayed.  Cherry’s gentle temperament and patient, loving nature with her babies—and the other dogs in her foster home—have been nothing short of amazing. Now that her puppies are ready to move on, it’s Cherry’s turn to find a family of her own. This sweet girl adores people and is happiest when she’s near her humans, soaking up attention and being part of everyday life. Whether she’s lounging nearby or quietly following you around the house, Cherry just wants to belong.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. ** January 7, 2026, 8:46 am

I`m sponsored! Thanks to donor support, my adoption fee will be waived! Please contact my foster at: shedds.sheps@gmail.com Meet Bogi, a super playful, loving, and intelligent German Shepherd! Quick Facts About Bogi:Housetrained—YesNon-destructive when left home aloneReaction to new people—FriendlyEnergy level—ModerateGood with children—Yes (older, dog-savvy kids recommended)Other animals—Bogi needs to be the only pet in the homeBogi is 90 pounds of fur and love! He’s an incredibly sweet, playful, and intelligent dog who just wants to be with his person. He is a moderate-energy level dog who loves to go on long walks and play fetch, then lounge on the couch to relax. Bogi is a mature pup, but he still has lots of life left to live! He is obsessed with squeaky balls and recently started playing tug-of-war with his foster mom. He’s very strong and always wins, but is still pretty gentle while playing! He also does really well in the car and loves to go for rides.Bogi loves food, but he is not food-obsessed, which provides a perfect balance for a dog who can be trained with food without getting crazy for treats. He also can be trusted to roam while home alone.Additionally, Bogi is a moderately vocal boy—in the best way possible. He grumbles, whines, and even gives baby barks when he wants to communicate his needs or express happiness. He has not howled at all though. He can be a little sassy sometimes, which his foster mom finds very amusing. You never have to wonder what he’s thinking!Bogi is your typical German Shepherd, so prior breed experience is highly recommended. GSD behaviors can be off-putting if you are unfamiliar with them. He is leash and barrier reactive, so he is not a good fit for a first-time pet owner. Bogi also needs to be the only pet in the home.Bogi has come a long way in his leash-walking skills and does very well for his foster mom when exploring the neighborhood with her. She has also been working with him on his reactivity and has already seen improvements when redirecting his attention from other animals. This is a very intelligent dog who would benefit from working with a trainer or experienced pet parent.Bogi would do well in a multi-person home, family environment (older children only), or with someone who is single and has plenty of time to devote to him. He’d thrive in a home where at least one person stays home during

Story
Contact foster at: shaylalynn92@yahoo.comEdgar is a gentle giant & loves being cared for while showing his appreciation through gentle licks. Hes slow to let people love on him, but he does love head and neck scratches. He does great for baths and tolerates being wiped down with dog wipes!Even though hes estimated at around 1, he has low energy for a German Shepherd and would rather hang out than do much.  Hes weary/shy when meeting new people- giving him time to warm up works best (along with providing yummy treats and verbal praise for good behaviors). He enjoys walks, short because of his heartworm status, and is easy to walk on his leash- even through his small spurts of energy- once he gets to the end of his lead he slows his pulling down to an enjoyable walk again. Walks well in a looped slip lead or martingale collar & leash. Hes nonreactive to his foster siblings, who like to walk by his gated area and sniff towards him while he sits or lays and waits for the day he can meet them face to face- we`re still decompressing from the shelter. He does great in his kennel, and will protest some with barks initially.  He needs slow intros to new environments, which is why hes still gated off from our pack. He likes to observe and see how our dogs live in our house. Hes not sure what to do with the toys in his kennel because hed rather rest and observe than play/chew on them- so not a heavy chewer or chewer at all. He knows sits, and even likes to do a little hop up before he sits down for a treat.Hes very food and treat motivated which makes training easy and fun!Not cat tested, but is very interested in small dogs and cats he has seen from a distance on walks. Hes not spooked by yard decorations (halloween season). Does not mind the vacuum cleaner/is not afraid of it and does not bark when it is on & near him. Will hop over baby gates inside, so needs some patience & training on his boundary awareness - should adjust nicely the more he adjusts to a home environment. Hard to tell his `house training` due to having foster siblings distracting him, but hes a smart boy who is eager to please/food motivated so house training should not take long. Just learned how to lay down for a treat & praise.Bonds quickly to his people and does great in public places with patience and consistency on training. Could also see him enjoying just being at home with his family, and not going out to
