Story
Wylie is not just a dog; he’s a testament to resilience and the power of community. At 10 years young, this handsome senior has a heart as big as his beautiful, well-groomed coat—one that requires a bit of daily brushing but rewards you with endless cuddles in return. For years, Wylie lived a life that many would find difficult. Alone on the streets, he faced challenges that would leave most feeling defeated. Yet, thanks to the kindness of local construction workers who made sure he had meals, and the teenagers and children who took time to sit with him, Wylie developed a spirit filled with love and gratitude. Generous souls along his journey even laid out warm beds for him, ensuring he had a safe place to rest each night. Now, Wylie is ready to find a forever home where he can finally experience the love and warmth he deserves. He’s a gentle companion who thrives on human affection and companionship. Whether it’s snuggling up on the couch or enjoying leisurely strolls around the neighborhood, Wylie brings joy wherever he goes. Wylie has a wonderful knack for getting along with everyone—adults, kids, and other dogs alike. His sweet demeanor makes him the perfect addition to any family looking for a loving companion. Plus, his heartworm negative status means he’s ready to start this new chapter of his life without any health concerns holding him back. If you’re looking for a cuddly friend who embodies the spirit of resilience and joy, Wylie is your guy. He’s ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and plenty of wagging tails. Will you be the one to give him the forever home he’s been dreaming of? Discover the love and warmth that only a senior dog can offer. Together, let’s give this beautiful soul the happy ending he truly deserves. Why should you consider adopting a senior dog? Adopting a senior dog is a truly rewarding experience that brings immeasurable joy and companionship. Senior dogs are often overlooked in shelters, yet they come with countless benefits. They tend to be calmer, well-mannered, and already past the hyperactive puppy stage, making them perfect for families or individuals seeking a loyal companion. Many have been trained and have established routines, making the transition into a new home smoother. Plus, senior dogs are incredibly grateful for a second chance, showering their adopters with unconditional love and affection. By adopting a senior dog, you’re not just saving a life; you’re gaining a devoted friend who will fill your days with warmth and joy. Give a senior dog the love they deserve, and experience the profound bond that comes with adopting a loving, wise companion. To add Wiley to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. He is wagging his tail and wiggling his butt at just the thought of finding his forever home and his story is just beginning! His next chapter could be with you! Our adoption fee includes transport, all age required shots, microchip, & a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. We look forward to receiving your application! We will review it shortly and give you a call to set up a phone interview.  We are thrilled to offer transport services every 3 weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest and the East Coast, ensuring that these incredible pets can find their way to you no matter where you are. This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2039507##

We offer transportation for this sweet boy to the Pacific Northwest and the East Coast, making it even easier for him to join your loving home. Story
OBSERVED BY SHELTER STAFF: Hank is a friendly dog that gives a warm, noticeable greeting. He has a high energy level is very affectionate and would make a great dog for an active person or family with respectful children. He is nervous around the other dogs here at the shelter and would most likely do okay with a dog-friendly dog that is similar to his size; we recommend a meet and greet. He’s a dufus and would probably play too rough and annoy smaller dogs. He is scared of cats, but was also a little interested at the same time. Although he needs some work with his leash manners, he does know the sit and shake commands. Weighs 64 pounds; $25 to adopt.

Story
Prepare to fall in love with Sunshine, the sweet and affectionate girl who gets along with everyone she meets. With her easy-going nature, Sunshine is a breeze to have around. She's housebroken, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash—truly a gem among our fosters! Sunshine's Journey: This brave mama was found in North Houston with her nine tiny pups. Despite facing harrowing stormy nights, she never strayed from their side, even moving them under pieces of collapsed fencing to keep them safe. Despite her past hardships, which included being kicked and pushed around, Sunshine's loving and gentle spirit remains unbroken. She has permanent damage to one eye, but can see out of it. According to our vet the eye does not need to be removed.  She adores other dogs and is eager to be part of their circle of trust. With Sunshine, you'll always know how much she cares. If you're a loving adopter searching for a loyal companion, look no further! Sunshine is fantastic with humans, incredibly gentle with kids, and completely non-reactive to cats. Don't miss out on this diamond in the rough—Sunshine is ready to bring joy and love into your home! Story
Honey is a sweet girl she also very energetic and loves to play. She also loves to sleep she has a very funny personality and also has a big attitude and love to judge everyone with her looks. She loves to be outside and to run around she also love to bark at everything she also love ice cubes, water and dog bones. Honey love to be loved and loves everyone in her family. Honey is not trained on the leash she will drag you everywhere but she does know how to sit and give paw when she wants too honey will also run away if given the chance to do so. She loves food and treats she good with other dogs I’m not sure about cats or kids. Honey is house trained and will whine and sit by the door when she needs to go potty. I think honey would do best with a gated yard for her to run around in to get all of her energy out.Gypsi 801-425-9637

Story
We got Charles when he was about 3 months old (He is 4 years now). The family we got him from were not experienced dog breeders so we think he was poorly taken care of after birth. He took to my wife and I really fast but we noticed he was already aggressive to strangers. We took him to special training after getting his puppy shots taken care of. They let us know he was already showing signs of aggression and that we should give him back if we could. We took him to training pretty regularly for around 4-5 months. Scent, command, leash training, shock collar training. Hes a very smart dog and took well to all the training. But the aggression wad still there. We were able to make him comfortable with both of our families and he's a good boy when he's familiar with everyone around. Next year we're planning to start our family and will have babies in the house. Despite the work we've put in we can't take any chances, but would like to find him an experienced dog owner.

Story
Tippy is the sweetest of sweethearts! I hate to give her up, but my resident cat has drawn a hard line. She's hoping for a new home with a yard, and maybe even other dogs or kids! Strengths: 1. Excellent recall; also trained on e-collar for back-up recall. 2. Knows sit, down, stay, and heel very well (still practicing "place"). If you enforce it, she knows to sit at the threshold of a door and wait to be released before continuing through. 3. Dream outdoor dog! She loves hiking and camping. Could be an ideal trail running or backpacking companion. 4. Tires from mental stimulation (e.g. training, sniffing) on low-exercise days. 5. Passive- as the runt of her litter, she is extremely passive, has never escalated a fight with other dogs, has never come close to hurting my cat despite multiple opportunities. 6. Great on long car rides. Challenges: 1. Busy nose- loses focus 2. Minor separation anxiety- prefers her crate when left alone during the day.

Story
Sunny came to us in 2020 from a loving family, who had adopted another pet and had need to rehome sunny (who was better behaved). Sunny has been a good dog for our small family. But with busy schedules and child care needs that come first, Sunny has not been able to receive the active play and running /walking that she deserves. She loves to run up and down along the fence to bark at the neighbors dog. She needs room to run and play with her new owners. She is a house dog and usually prefers to be inside where the people are. If you are outside frequently with her, she will be out with you. Same for inside. Comes with a kennel and two large beds. Plus dog food.

Story
Tundra is a seven year-old German Shepherd dog. She’s silly, goofy, little lazy and very sweet. She loves cold weather and camping and will snuggle up by the fire at night. Loves to go on walks, but does need to be with someone who is experienced since she is reactive to dogs that she does not know. She currently lives in a household with one other dog and they do great together. She just needs to be introduced if there is another dog. She does have a history of nipping at kids and should not be around young children. She needs someone that has patience and preferably does not live in an apartment because she has anxiety and does bark when the owner is gone. She’s a sweet, loving girl that is ready to be someone’s new best friend.
