Story
Hello there humans! My name's Maverick or Mav for short. I'm a 5-6 years old Shepherd mix and I'm such a good boy. I'm crate trained and potty trained and I get along great with kids. My family had to return me for no fault of my own, because they are in the military and moved overseas. I don't play with other dogs much, so dog parks aren't my jam, but I like to greet them on walks and I'd be good as an only dog or having a doggie sibling that enjoys a little space too. Cats are a no for me. I am a big guy and love to play fetch or with toys, so having a yard would be best. I'm such a smart boy with medium energy. My foster family takes me on a daily short walk, provides me toys, and throws the ball a few times per day in the backyard and I am good. I walk well on a leash and I come when called. I also enjoy looking out the window and taking naps. What's not to love? Do you think you could give me some love and a soft place to lay my head? I would be so grateful and the most loyal companion. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet Gracie, a 3-year-old German Shepherd who is the perfect mix of affection, playfulness, and devotion. She's an overall confident and happy dog who wants to share her love with you. Gracie loves being outside, going for walks and she LOVES to play. A fenced yard and rousing game of fetch brings her great joy - she'll drop her ball at your feet and gaze at you with those soulful eyes while patiently waiting for you to take your turn. Treats are not a big thing for her but she is motivated by toys. Gracie is a stunning beauty at 65 pounds - she's physically and mentally strong, and needs humans who will continue to teach her how to walk politely on leash and who will keep her brain occupied through mental activities. She sometimes forgets her house manners and will try to get on a counter or other high surface, but she's a good listener who takes correction well. Gracie absolutely loves her people and she promises that you will be the apple of her eye, and asks that she be yours in return. She does not like to share your attention with other animals, and should be the only pet in the home. Gracie is fully house trained and crate trained, and quiet in the house. If you're looking for a canine companion to share your life with, Gracie is ready to become your steadfast and loving friend. To meet Gracie, please fill out an online application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Story
Don't let his name fool you, Bunnie is actually a dog ---- a 6-year-old German Shepherd Dog to be precise! True to his adorable namesake, he does bound around the yard like a puppy when he's happy. Bunny is 85 pounds of gentleness, a good boy who loves attention and affection, and is equally playful and easy going. True to his German Shepherd nature, he is protective over his people/person, and will require additional training to help him expand his social circle. Bunny is crate trained and house trained, gets along well with dogs around his size, and is best suited for a home with older children. Cats are unknown. Bunny enjoys regular walks, time in the yard and going for rides in the car. He also loves to be brushed and will nuzzle his head into his people when he wants affection. Story
Hello friends! Are you looking for a loyal and loving companion who would promise to always be by your side and protect you from harm? My name is Tundra and I am a 75 lb. German shepherd mix. I am an older gentleman (probably about 7 years old), so I’m very mellow and well-behaved. My daily walk is probably my favorite thing in the whole world, but after that (and before it too) I am pretty content to snooze around the house. I am a very good boy and I know basic obedience commands like “sit” and “watch me”. I am also very good at coming when called. My nose does reach the counter and I like to sniff around while you’re cooking, but if you tell me to knock it off, I will listen. I am potty trained and I am crate trained as well. My crate is a nice place to take a nap, and I will put myself to bed at night in my crate when I’m tired. I get along well with other dogs of various sizes. I haven’t been cat tested, but I don’t seem to get too worked up with the critters in the yard, so they might be ok too. I like kids and I do just fine with polite kids. True to my German Shepherd nature, I just really want a forever home with a person or family that I can bond with, love and protect. I am a great guard dog and I will keep watch over the place but I’m really just a gentle soul. Oh, and did I mention I love to go for car rides? I just sit there quietly and gently take treats from the coffee ladies. Foster mom says I’m a really easy and sweet boy. I just really want to find my forever home so I can settle in and start loving you!Tundra is fixed, vaccinated, health checked, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet this sensitive girl whose heart is bigger than her adorable ears. She is estimated to be about 2 yrs old. She LOVES to play (and play and play). She's an affectionate goofball with endless enthusiasm who deserves to live her greatest adventure yet. Roxy can be shy/fearful with new people. She is very friendly when people give her the time and space to go at HER pace to get comfortable. When someone imposes themselves on her quicker than what she feels safe with, she may fearfully react. Roxy's foster parents will work with her new family to have a smooth, low-stress, incremental transition for her so that everyone is set up for success. In order to be considered as the future protector of her heart, below are the must-haves: -A fenced-in yard with plenty of open space -An active home with at least 1 other active dog to help her burn energy and save both your and her sanity -Someone home most of the day -A 'controlled' environment that does not have 'strangers' going in and out.Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Alfredo's adoption fee is $200. Story
Hi! I'm Kona! I moved in with my uncle after my dad passed. He has taught me some basic commands like; sit, stay, come, lay down, and roll over. I have lots of love and am looking forward to giving and receiving that from a good family. I will need a place with a backyard. I may be able to live with another dog, but haven't had to do that for awhile now. I may need time to get used to it and you will need to properly introduce me if you have another dog. I am more of a human dog than a dog dog. I prefer older kids. I do well as an only dog. I am a typical German Shepherd dog. So I am smart. But I have my own personality. Loud thunder and fireworks are scary to me. So, help me during these occasions. I will come with all the dog items I've received. I look forward to meeting you soon.
