Story
Meet Oak – A Sweet Soul Learning to Trust the WorldOak is a 3-year-old Shepherd mix who is just beginning her journey into a safe, loving life. At 46 lbs, she is currently underweight but steadily gaining and is expected to fill out into a healthy 60–70 lb dog. Despite her rough start, Oak’s gentle, loving nature shines through more every day.She absolutely adores people. While she can be a bit nervous at first—cowering at loud noises or sudden movements—it doesn’t stop her from seeking out affection. In fact, one of her favorite things in the world is a good head pat. She wants to be close, she wants to trust, and with a little patience, her sweet personality truly blossoms. As Oak settles in, her playful and energetic side is emerging. She’s a true shepherd at heart with high energy and would love a home with a yard where she can run and explore. She’s still learning the basics—leash walking is a work in progress, and she may pull or jump when excited. She’s also almost fully house-trained and knows commands like “sit,” with more learning underway. Oak does best in a calm, patient home that can help build her confidence and continue her training. She can be vocal in her crate when left alone and is still working on feeling secure during those times. Because of her sensitivity, a home without small children would be ideal, and she would do best with experienced adopters who understand shy or under-socialized dogs. She has shown selective behavior with other dogs and a strong interest in small animals like chickens, so careful introductions—or being the only pet—may be best. What makes Oak so special is her resilience and her desire to love. Even when she’s unsure, she leans into connection. She’s the kind of dog who, with time and trust, will form an incredibly deep bond with her person. If you’re looking for a dog to grow with—one who will reward your patience with loyalty, affection, and a truly special connection—Oak is ready to find her forever home.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet Broski! This 11-month-old sidekick is pretty laid back for a youngster, but always ready to be there when you want a buddy to talk to, hang out with, or head out on an adventure. He loves attention and petting, yet he's totally fine relaxing while you do your own thing-just happy to be nearby and greet you with enthusiasm when you're ready. Broski is confident, affectionate, active, and athletic, with a big love for toys and treats that make training and giving him a job to do extra fun. He walks well on a leash and, like any growing pup, still needs some training, but with guidance and consistency he's an easy, enjoyable dog to have around.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots program "Please email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 62.0625 Age: 0yrs 11mths 1wks

Story
Becky 385-239-9523He`s a 2 year old dutch shepherd mix. He`s smart, sweet and definitely has a personality. He is crate trained, knows basic commands also with hand commands. He takes treats out of your hand gently. He is good around children but I haven`t been able to break his habit of jumping on people. He does like to hold your arm in his mouth and hand or anything he can get his mouth on so I`ve been working on him having a toy in his mouth before giving him attention. Unfortunately with my work schedule and moving he doesn`t get the attention and time.
