Story

Echo was rescued from living in a hotel. His owner is not able to care for him any longer. He is adjusting beautifully to being in a home with other dogs and having plenty of space to play. Echo is scheduled to get new vaccines (I don't have previous records) and to be neutered on 12 October. I will still pay for this appointment if he finds a new family before that date.Echo is: - a loving, happy boy that loves to play, run and get chased by his foster sisters- learning his manners quickly- potty-trained with doggy doors, he'll need to be shown which door to use to go outside- great at taking walks with another older dog, we are still learning to slow down and not pull- very affectionate and loves to be close to his human whenever possible- needs to find a home without cats, he loves to chase them- approximately one year oldI would love to adopt Echo, but I'm not able to be as active as a puppy needs to be.

Story

I'm Sylvia-and I'm still wondering why it took so long for someone to stop for me. I was found on the side of the road, not doing well. Car after car passed me by until one kind person finally stopped and gave me the help I needed. Thankfully, I recovered and showed everyone at the shelter what a sweet girl I am. No one ever came looking for me, though, so now I'm hoping someone will finally choose me.I'm a petite 35-pound shepherd mix who LOVES treats, aims to please, and is a world-class cuddler. I even spent a week in a home and did well with cats! I'm curious, affectionate, and happiest when I'm close to my people.I've already learned that the right person will stop for you. Now I'm just waiting for mine. Please email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions. Primary Color: Black Weight: 35 Age: 1yrs 0mths 0wks

Story

MAMA PENELOPE IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Mama Penelope has finished taking care of her babies, and now it’s finally HER turn to find someone who will love her just as fiercely as she loves her people. â¤ï¸ And when we say fiercely… we mean this girl LOVES HARD. Penelope is incredibly sweet, playful and affectionate. She becomes deeply attached to her person and wants to know where you are, what you're doing, where you're going and why she wasn't invited. She would probably burn the house down trying to find her person if she thought they disappeared. Okay… maybe not literally. But we're not completely ruling it out. A little about Mama Penelope: Absolutely OBSESSED with kids — she adores children and is naturally very protective of them Plays well with other dogs â¤ï¸ Extremely loyal and bonds HARD with her person Sweet, playful and affectionate Goes into her kennel beautifully Was NOT impressed by bath time… until she saw another dog doing it, then she decided she could be brave too She is currently very skittish around men and will need patience, positive experiences and time to build trust Penelope's devotion also means she has some things her future family needs to understand. She can become possessive of her person around other dogs. She may happily play with them, but if another dog approaches the person she's bonded to, she can become protective and try to keep that person to herself. Her adopter will need to be willing to work on boundaries and resource guarding of her favorite human. She also struggles with separation anxiety. When left loose and she knows her person is gone, she can become destructive trying to find them — including attempting to get through windows. For her safety, she is kenneled when nobody is home. She goes into her kennel well, but beds and blankets currently become CONFETTI. Penelope isn't looking for someone who expects a perfectly polished dog on day one. She's looking for someone patient and committed who understands that underneath those behaviors is a girl who attaches deeply to the people she loves. â¤ï¸ With structure, training, reassurance and the right family, this sweet mama has SO much potential. Now that she's spent all that time loving and protecting her babies, let's find Mama Penelope someone who chooses HER.
