Hi, I'm Charlie! I had quite the adventure before landing here! I was on the run for a while before I was finally caught and brought to the shelter. Sadly, no one ever came looking for me, so now I'm ready to find my next chapter with someone who truly appreciates a shepherd like me. When you first meet me, I might seem a little hesitant and barky - it's just my shepherd instincts kicking in. Give me a little time, though, and you'll see how quickly I warm up. Once I'm comfortable, I'm all about the affection and being close to my people. I'm still young and learning, and when I get excited I can be a bit jumpy and mouthy. I don't mean any harm - I just need someone to help teach me polite manners and how to channel my enthusiasm. The good news? I'm a smart guy, and training should be a breeze for someone willing to put in the time. I'd do best with respectful kids who understand that I'm still figuring out the best ways to say hello and play nicely. I'd also enjoy having another dog friend who can match my energy and help me burn it off. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. On 12/6, she made it safely out of Arkansas and traveled to Wisconsin, where she is now settling beautifully into her foster home. From Her Foster: Sweet Pea is settling in very nicely! She loves to play with the resident dogs and absolutely loves the snow. Sweets slept overnight in her crate and is definitely living up to her name.
