Story
Hi, I'm Lumi! I'm a young German Shepherd mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for adventure. If you're looking for a smart, active companion to join you on walks, hikes, playtime, and everything in between, I might be your perfect match! I love playing fetch, tug, and spending time with my people. I'm a quick learner who already knows several commands, and I enjoy showing off my brains when treats and praise are involved. I'm friendly, affectionate, and always excited to meet new people. Because I'm an energetic girl, I'll do best with a family that can keep both my mind and body busy. Continued training will help me become the very best version of myself, and I have so much potential to shine. I would do well with respectful kids and I am good with dogs that match my energy If you're ready for a fun, intelligent, and loyal best friend who's always up for the next adventure, I'd love to meet you! Story
Meet Cupcake Cupcake is a beautiful long-haired German Shepherd born on 9/2/2017. He is neutered, fully vetted, and has even had a dental completed — this handsome boy is ready for the right person to give him the second chance he deserves.Cupcake came into our care after his beloved owner passed away. The two shared a very close bond, and understandably, Cupcake has taken time to adjust to all the changes in his world. He forms deep connections with his people and thrives in a calm, predictable environment.Cupcake will require a specialized home without children or other pets. He does best in a quieter household with minimal visitors, as he values his space and needs time to warm up to new people. With patience and consistency, he shows his sweet, loyal nature. He is currently working on his manners and has been doing well with structure and training here at the shelter. Cupcake is learning to trust again — and watching him open up has been incredibly rewarding. If you have the time, patience, and heart to invest in this sweet older dog who is learning to love again, we encourage you to apply. To learn more about Cupcake, please submit a pet application at eastshoreha.org. Once approved, our staff will contact you to schedule your personal meet and greet.

Story
Kahla is a 2-year-old German Shepherd who narrowly escaped death at a high-kill California shelter and is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Highly affectionate and people-driven, she thrives on human companionship and loves nothing more than being snuggly by your side. She cherishes her humans and forms deep, loyal bonds with them. She has excellent recall and a solid foundation in basic obedience, making her both responsive and eager to please. Her training reflects her intelligence and eagerness to learn new things and she thrives on consistent routines and positive reinforcement. One notable aside: Kahla would do best as an only pet and can become intensely aroused when she sees other dogs. She's been working with a trainer, however, and with a calm, structured approach and controlled introductions, she continues to improve. She responds well to management and guidance from a confident handler, and she excels in environments with clear boundaries and predictable triggers. Her ideal home would consist of a single-family household with experienced owners who can provide daily mental and physical stimulation, simple secure space and ongoing, positive socialization. Kahla's devoted heart and trainable nature make her a wonderful, loving companion for the right family who can give her consistent love, attention, and leadership. She's currently located in Houston, TX but is eager to come to the Midwest for the right foster or adopter anytime!

Adopt a Pet from Mutt Life! Looking to add a furry friend to your family? At Mutt Life Rescue of Wisconsin, we have loving pets waiting for their forever homes. Explore our adoptable animals and find your perfect match today! For the latest updates on the mutts, follow us on Facebook: @muttlifewi Visit our website: Muttlife.org __________ Lionel Needs a Foster or Adopter Lionel is looking for a new foster or adoptive home through Mutt Life Dog Rescue after being surrendered back to rescue. His current owner cares deeply for him, but due to multiple health issues, she is no longer able to give Lionel the time, training, exercise, and socialization he needs to truly thrive. Meet Lionel Lionel is a handsome German Shepherd mix with a story of resilience and second chances. Estimated to be 5–6 years old, Lionel originally came from an Arkansas shelter after being found as a stray in heartbreaking condition. He was severely underweight, malnourished, suffering from mange, and heartworm positive when he entered the shelter. He was scheduled for euthanasia, but was rescued just in time and given the opportunity to recover. After spending time in foster care completing heartworm treatment, Lionel made his way to Wisconsin in December weighing around 70 pounds. Since then, he has fully recovered, gained about 20 pounds, and is now a healthy 90-pound boy ready for a fresh start with the right family. Lionel is not a wild or overly excitable dog, but he does need a home committed to giving him regular exercise, continued training, and stimulation. He is a big boy so needs someone who can handle his size. He is potty trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on leash with a pinch collar. He also knows commands like sit and has a solid foundation to continue building from. Lionel is good with other dogs and has done well around children, though because of his large size and possibly bumping into the littles, older respectful kids would be the better fit for his next home. He has also been around outdoor cats. Lionel has generally done well when the cats are calm, stay nearby, or rub on him, but may want to chase if they run, so a cat-savvy home or slower introductions would be ideal. Lionel is a loyal, beautiful, intelligent dog with an old soul who has overcome a lot. He simply needs a home that can better meet his needs. Age: About 5 years old Gender: Male Weight: 90 lbs Breed: German Shepherd mix Spayed/Neutered: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Leash Manners: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Has been around outdoor cats, chase risk if they run Good with Kids: Yes, older kids preferred Lionel deserves a home that can continue helping him succeed and give him the structure, activity, and companionship he needs. If you can foster or adopt Lionel, please apply today. www.muttlife.org __________ Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer, vaccinations, and heart worm prevention (age appropriate). Adopt a Pet from Mutt Life! Looking to add a furry friend to your family? At Mutt Life Rescue of Wisconsin, we have loving pets waiting for their forever homes. Explore our adoptable animals and find your perfect match today! For the latest updates on the mutts, follow us on Facebook: @muttlifewi Visit our website: Muttlife.org __________ Kory Needs a Foster or Adopter to Secure His Ride to Wisconsin Kory is currently in a shelter in Texas and needs a foster or adopter to secure his spot on transport to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue in early June. The transport date is still to be determined and will depend on how many dogs receive fosters or adopters. A committed home is required for Kory to make the trip, and we’re hopeful the right person is out there for him. Meet Kory Kory is a sweet and friendly puppy with a whole lot of growing left to do. At only 13 weeks old, this big boy already weighs 40 pounds, and judging by the size of his paws, he is going to get a lot bigger. Kory came into the shelter alongside his mom, Katya, after the two were found as strays with no signs of ownership. Now he is looking for a loving family ready to help him start his next chapter. Despite his size, Kory is still very much a puppy. He is social, affectionate, and enjoys meeting people. He is dog friendly and would likely do well in a home with other dogs. While he has not been cat tested, he would likely do fine with proper introductions. He is also expected to do well with kids. Kory is still learning the basics, especially when it comes to leash walking. Right now, he is unsure of what he is supposed to do on leash and tends to put on the brakes rather than walk forward. Like any young puppies, he will need patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as he builds confidence and learns new skills. Because of his age, size, and expected adult size, Kory would thrive with a family prepared for a large breed puppy and all the training, structure, and fun that comes with raising one. If you are looking for a lovable big puppy to grow alongside your family, Kory could be the perfect fit. Age: 13 weeks old Gender: Male Weight: 40 lbs Breed: German Shepherd Mix Spayed/Neutered: Likely will be for transport Potty Trained: Not yet Crate Trained: Not yet Leash Manners: Working on it Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Likely with proper introductions Good with Kids: Likely yes Kory is ready to keep moving forward and would love a foster or adoptive home to help make that happen.
