Story
Kiwi is just shy of 6 months old, spayed, and fully vaccinated. She learns quickly and has mastered “sit” and “down”. Kiwi is still a puppy, however, and often gets so excited about doing what was asked that her butt bounces right back off the floor. She loves ice cubes and will sit patiently and wait for you to give her her ice tax anytime you get ice. She is learning to play fetch and would carry every tennis ball she could find at once if she could fit them in her mouth. Kiwi is crate trained and potty trained. Her favorite toys are hard plastic durable toys, she also likes to collect and carry rocks in her mouth. She is spirited, sweet, and full of energy. She enjoys tug-of-war as much as curling up on the couch with you. She runs like a horse and pounces when she chases after toys. She has polka dot boots, a paint brush tail, and a heart shaped spot on her head. She can be shy around new people, but warms up quickly. Kiwi loves to play with other dogs but doesn't like sharing her toys!! She could live with another submissive dog or be solo.  ##2798821##

All people inquiring about pets listed as Courtesy Listings on the EAPL website and/or EAPL posting adoption boards should contact the current pet owner/rescue/shelter for answers to any questions and for final approval and placement. Please do not contact EAPL  about courtesy listings. The pet owner/rescue/shelter and new owner shall make all arrangements on transferring the pet, including information on history, vaccines, etc.    Petra is a 1.5‑year‑old female, born October 30, 2024, and is a loving mix of German Shorthaired Pointer and Pit Bull, weighing about 50 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations except for an upcoming rabies booster. Petra has lived with me since she was just eight weeks old, and in that time she has grown into a playful, cuddly, and high‑energy companion. She knows her basic commands—sit, stay, settle, and is still working on come and heel—and she loves to “talk” when she’s excited. She loves car rides, and I mean LOVES! She gets very excited when I take her to a trail she knows, which is many. Petra barks loudly during play and when new people come to the door, and she can be vocal toward other dogs while on leash. She pulls a bit strong on walks and would benefit from continued training with someone who enjoys working with an energetic, eager dog. Energy levels are fairly high, so walks and runs are great for her. She attends Bergen Bark doggy daycare once a week, where she gets the stimulation and social time she loves. Petra is not a great fit for homes with children as I do not have kids and she has not had much exposure. I also have a large German Shepard mix, female as well and they get along wonderfully, great with other doggos. I also have a spunky cat and Petra loved playing and chasing with the cat!    Rehoming Petra is an incredibly difficult decision. I lost my husband suddenly in January, and despite how much I love her, I am no longer able to give Petra the level of time, structure, and energy she needs to thrive. My priority is finding her a safe, stable, and committed home. To help ensure she goes to someone prepared for her needs and to offset a portion of her care and veterinary costs, I’m asking for an adoption fee of $300–$400. Petra will make a wonderful companion for the right person or family, and my hope is to find her a home where she can feel secure, stimulated, and deeply loved. I am available to text or email with any inquiries or questions!   crystalism20@gmail.com 720.590.2567 August 25, 2026, 2:18 pm
