HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED! PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED PERRY! Please meet Perry, a 4 year old handsome mixed breed boy (possible combination of GSP and Bluetick Coonhound), weighing in at +\-50 pounds. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Perry's zest for life is evident in his love for play. Whether it's a game of fetch or playtime in the yard, Perry's enthusiasm is infectious!  Perry's dedication to training is remarkable. He has an impressive grasp of basic obedience commands such as "sit," "down," "stay," and "heel." He also understands the "place" command, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to learn. His training progress is a testament to his willingness to please and his adaptability to new situations. Perry is both crate trained and fully house trained. Perry LOVES his person (or people). He is a relationship driven dog that will bond tightly with his caretaker(s). He loves to engage in play and share mental and physical stimulation inside and outside his residence.  Perry is a very well behaved gentleman out in public, having socialized well with people and other dogs of all sizes in a variety of situations/environments. However, inside his home, the sudden movements of younger children can tend to make Perry nervous, and as such, older children (12+) are recommended to reside with Perry in his home. That being said, Perry is perfectly fine and content to utilize his crate in situations where young ones may be temporary visitors. Perry enjoys the companionship of other dogs, provided they are introduced properly and will respect his boundaries. He is able to participate in playgroups with others; however, Perry's primary interest and focus is his person (or people), which also makes him a great candidate as a solo dog in a new home. Perry has a unique vocal talent - the "hound" howl. However, this distinctive trait only surfaces when he feels bored, adding a touch of character to his already charming personality! To ensure Perry thrives, he should be placed in a loving home with plenty of room for him to run and play. He's an active dog who relishes outdoor adventures. Most importantly, Perry deserves a home that will shower him with boundless love and affection, just as he wholeheartedly gives in return. If you're seeking a loyal, playful, and loving companion who will bring endless joy to your life, Perry could be the perfect addition to your family. Don't delay in completing an application to meet the handsome Perry today! I adopted Koda last year from the Aurora animal shelter. She was 5 years old. She came from the same and only owner with her brother. I have a new work schedule and feel bad about the amount of time she is alone. She loves walk and cuddles. Very sweet and well behaved girl.

Story
Hi, this is Maverick. He is a full energy purebred German shorthaired pointer. He just turned four in April and he is looking for a new home as his family since four months old has moved to an apartment. It is heartbreaking for us, but he needs more room to roam. He is a very loving and fun dog, however he cannot be around any other dog!! We are not sure why that is as he has lived with our other dog since he was a puppy. He is completely housebroken but not crate trained. He spends most of his time in the home, but loves to be outside. He pulls on a leash and will aggressively bark and lunge for another dog if in his site. He likes all kinds of people but is nervous at first and needs a slow introduction. His absolute most favorite thing is to play with a tennis ball and can do so all day! He prefers it is hit to him by a bat as we have baseball players in the home. Let me know if he would fit your home with the understanding that being around another dog is not an option. Thanks!

Story
We rescued Jasper from a tough situation where she was going to be abandoned. Jasper is loved by our entire family and we are sorry to see her go. The fact is we did not ask for her and we are not equipped to take care of her. Life changes have only made this more difficult. Jasper is a happy dog who is determined and loyal. She is very inline with her breed. What we love most about her: Loves to work. Loves to cuddle. Loves her family. Loves to learn new things. Loves the outdoors. Behavioral issues: Jasper is scared of strangers and will charge, bark, and nip at heels when nervous. She has bitten someone one time when they entered the house unannounced. (Very small). Ideal situation: An Outdoorsman with some experience with reactive dogs. Summary: If you are looking for a best friend who will stay by your side no matter how small the task, you have found the one. Jasper loves to support her person, and her drive is relentless.

Story
I adopted Arlo as a 3 month old puppy. I was a sucker for his sweet white spotted paw and was searching for a play mate for my female dog. Once he got strong and too smart for my training skills, I put him through SitMeansSit board and train program ($$$), so he has good recall/listening, and gets free life time lessons so we go a few times a month. I met my now husband about 6 months after I adopted Arlo, and he has an adult male dog. Arlo and my female get along, but having another alpha male dog in home once we moved in has not been ideal. Arlo is a sweet boy, but he is very protective of me (especially if I have food) so he will growl if the other dogs come in his vicinity during that time, and has lunged a few times. He has shown recent behaviors of separation anxiety which I’ve started work on. I’ve worked on him with group and private training. I just believe he needs an only dog home with folks whom may be retired or work from home. Free to love!

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 All animals are UTD on vaccines (may need boosters) and microchipped From the foster: This sweet, playful little beauty is Shay. She’s a very loving and lovable girl who will have perfect manners one day with a little more practice and fine tuning. She is potty trained and is getting used to the dog door but doesn’t quite know yet that she can go out on her own so she sits by the door when she wants out. She knows how to fetch and loves racing her foster sister for the ball in the backyard. Shay is one smart cookie and mastered our after dinner walk and bedtime routines by the second night. Although she would really prefer to sleep in bed with us, after just a little coaxing to get in her kennel, she slept quietly all night. Like most pups, she loves pets and snuggles from her people and gets along great with her furry foster siblings too. Shay would do great with any family so if you are looking for a cuddly, quiet, playful little shadow, Shay is your girl www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
