He likes to sit outside, he cuddles, loves treats and is learning his basic commands. He likes toys and wants to play, but is also pretty calm and likes to sit with people (Maggie taught him that). Oh. And housebroken. Not one accident!!

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from Second Chance Dog Rescue in Snyder, TX, Mama Merry and her 9 puppies, 3 male / 5 female. Mom and pups surrendered to the shelter and have been there ever since. *I should be ready for adoption on 12/27* From the foster: One look at this handsome fluffy, sporting his flashy coat and no doubt, you are smitten. Miles (pup 900) is basically that one friend who owns three flannel shirts, knows all the best hiking trails, and would rather hang out with your dog than with you. He is the quintessential rugged Colorado mountain dude in puppy form. He'll certainly be cordial enough to accept your snuggles and hand out a few kisses, but don't take it personally when he dumps you two minutes later to go back to his canine crew. We have three large resident dogs (ages 3 - 11) and he follows them around endlessly hoping for their attention. As you might imagine, having another playful and gentle dog in his adoptive home would be a huge benefit for Miles. Miles is a smart pup, who may be a bit shy at first, but will light up if another dog walks in the room. He'll benefit from all the standard puppy staples of obedience training, consistent schedules for housetraining, and positive socialization with other people and the outside world. Miles came to the care of the rescue with his mother and siblings, and we still are a bit stumped by his breed mix. His mom appears to be a pitty/hound (Catahoula?) yet he is the only one in his litter with such glorious floof, making him a total genetic mystery. He currently sleeps in a crate with his littermates with a puppy pen and newspaper/potty pads. They are good about keeping the crate dry and clean and using the provisions of the paper and pads for their "business". They also always appreciate and opportunity to eliminate outside so we spend lots of time outdoors. Miles is probably the most vocal of his littermates that we are fostering. He's been known to bark himself "hoarse" when unhappy with his circumstances, whether it be a kennel, or a car ride. It'd be best to keep that in mind and potentially reconsider if you have a shared walls living situation, otherwise you'll likely be hearing from the neighbors about his vocal theatrics. Miles has been fostered with two young children, ages 4 and 7 and does alright with them but does need pretty consistent redirecting for his puppy chomps on fingers and feet. Overall, Miles is certainly a special pup. He'll make a great friend, instant bestie to another friendly doggo, and has all the making of a expert adventure pup. If you think you can match his Colorado "cool", perhaps he's your guy! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
