We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Polo looks like a mix but take it from us - that dog is a prime example of the sporting breed - German Shorthaired Pointers. Keen nose, high intelligence, and boundless energy - check, check, and check! He's up for plenty of mental and physical enrichment - advanced agility training, nosework, lots of running in parks, or lots of of long excursions out in nature or any combination thereof will make Polo a happy, tired dog. AND all those will help bond Polo and his humans intensely while having so much fun. He and his forever family will be very lucky to have each other! What My Foster Says About Me: Polo is a stunning, rare solidâliver 2âyearâold German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a classic Velcroâdog personality—affectionate, peopleâoriented, and wonderfully snuggly. He was exceptionally tolerant and gentle, allowing baths, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and paw handling with ease, and he has been great with housebreaking. Polo gets along beautifully with other dogs and has done with children he's met on walks. He loves playtime, and settles well after walks or outdoor activity. Like many young sporting breeds, he’s curious and enjoys exploring, but he redirects easily and happily trades items when encouraged. He has a solid foundation of obedience from prior professional training and reliably demonstrates sit, stay, down, place, and come; he is highly treatâmotivated and would thrive with continued positiveâreinforcement training. Polo is working on feeling secure when crated, and he has already made significant progress with consistent routines and gentle reassurance. His ideal home would include someone present most of the day and familiar with the energy and intelligence of sporting breeds. Everyone who meets him comments on his calm demeanor, responsiveness, and striking good looks—he’s a truly special dog. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.
