Story
Meet Jimmy! Jimmy is a sweet, gentle, and incredibly loyal 6-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who will be turning 7 in October. At around 60 pounds, he is a big-hearted boy with an even bigger capacity for love. He has been with his foster family for four months, and during that time, he has gradually become more comfortable and confident in his home. Getting to know his personality has been such a joy, and it is clear that Jimmy has so much love to give to the right family. Jimmy is a people-loving, affectionate, quiet boy who truly just wants to be near his humans. One of his favorite things is curling up next to you on the couch or sleeping in bed with you. He loves to cuddle, and when you tell him what a good boy he is, he is especially happy to show you his affection. He will nuzzle his head into your side, roll around happily next to you on the bed, or rest his head on your lap and look up at you with the sweetest, most loving eyes. He is also wonderfully loyal and listens very well to his people. Jimmy knows come, stay, sit, down, and up, and he enjoys going for walks, runs, and bike rides. He walks nicely without pulling, and with his beep collar, he can be trusted off-leash outside in appropriate settings. He also absolutely loves car rides and is an easygoing travel companion. Baths don't bother him, and he isn't bothered by harsh weather or music either. Jimmy is a very quiet and shy dog. He has never shown aggression toward people or animals, and he is good with children. He has lived with another dog before and is interested in getting to know other dogs, but he is nervous around them and generally won't approach them on walks. Even when another dog confronts him, Jimmy does not react aggressively—he tends to be shy and unsure. Because of this, and because he shows interest in small animals/prey, he would likely be happiest as the only pet in the home. Jimmy isn't particularly food-motivated and doesn't spend his time looking for food. He doesn't counter-surf, although an unattended open garbage can can occasionally become an interesting opportunity for some investigation. He enjoys some toys, although fetch isn't really his thing. His favorite toys seem to be... his foster family's stuffed animals! He would much rather lounge beside his people than spend hours entertaining himself. One of Jimmy's biggest needs is companionship. He has significant separation anxiety and will bark when crated or left alone in the house. His ideal home would have someone around for the majority of the day—a retired person or family, or perhaps a household with opposite work schedules where he would rarely be alone for long periods. He isn't looking for a family that is constantly on the go; he is looking for his people. Jimmy is also still working through some house-training challenges. He is house-trained for the most part, but he has sensitive bowels and currently has accidents in the house almost daily, particularly on carpet. He also prefers having someone outside with him while he goes potty and may whine if he is left outside alone. His foster family is actively working with him on these issues, but his future family will need to be patient and willing to continue that work. He has a few other quirks that make him uniquely Jimmy. He is not a fan of the vacuum, mop, carpet cleaner, fly swatter, or cleaning supplies, and he doesn't enjoy having his paws handled. Despite that, he has no problem with nail trims at home and has never been aggressive about handling. Sometimes he crawls underneath the bed—not because he is trying to hide from his family, but because he finds it comforting. He also has a tendency to get excited enough to tinkle, something his foster family is working through with him. Jimmy takes thyroid medication and anti-anxiety medication, and his future family should be prepared to continue his established care routine. He takes these meds super easily with his daily feedings. Despite his challenges, Jimmy is one of the sweetest dogs you could ever meet. He has spent the last four months slowly learning that he is safe, loved, and part of a family, and watching him become more comfortable has been incredibly rewarding. He has so much affection to give when he trusts you, and he really thrives on being told what a good boy he is. And then there are his ears.  When Jimmy gets especially excited, he tucks his giant ears backward and proudly shows you the inside of them. His foster family's nickname for him is “Elephant Ears,” and it is one of the many little things that make him impossible not to love. Jimmy isn't looking for a perfect home—he is looking for the right home. A patient family who can be present for him, give him consistency and reassurance, continue working through his potty and separation-anxiety challenges, and let him settle in at his own pace could discover an incredibly loyal and loving companion. If you're looking for a dog who wants nothing more than to be your shadow, curl up beside you, go on an adventure with you, and then come home and rest his head in your lap, Jimmy might just be your guy.  ##2714911##

Story
There’s No Need to Fear… Underdog is Here!   Speed of lightning, roar of thunder, fighting all who rob or plunder, Underdog….… Underdog! 10-month old Arthur and his heroic alter-ego of Underdog will mesmerize you and steal your heart right from the start. His super powers: he is faster than the speed of light, has the ability to leap tall things in a single bound, is quick at adapting to new environments, and has a calm demeanor to blend in with any canine sidekicks. He bonds and loves his chosen person immediately, entrusting you will save him forever. He is a champion in both his fortress of solitude and free ranging when left alone with other household dogs in the home. And move over Flush Gordon, as he does all his duties outside, excelling in potty training power! His only actual crime fighting abilities are intensely combatting flies as they are no match for his superhero prowess!   The true Arthur is a wonderful puppy, but very timid and shy.  He has no actual roar of thunder and is not vocal.  He would benefit with a fellow stronger superhero canine companion to help him fight any wrongdoings.  He needs routine and structure, and someone who is adept at fear responses in dogs.  He is a happy, social butterfly loving any dog he meets, thrives at play, both self-soothing and engaging with other dogs. He loves car rides, nose work, and has typical puppy antics, but overall is a mild-mannered puppy with appropriate exercise.  He does not destroy household non-toy items when left alone; he will chew on bones, and annihilate soft toys.  He has been exposed to an e-collar, pulls a little on a leash, and walks better alone than with his canine comrades. His recall is not the strongest, and knows his name, wait, sit, down, go, and come.   He is showing signs of desire to flush, stalk, and pounce on chickens, and explore what lies in the woods. But bad guys beware, he will chase deer out of the vicinity.  Arthur’s kryptonite is being afraid of night time noises, lack of light, garages, porches, swimming, and any obstacles out of place.  His flight response is quite strong; because of this, a fenced-in yard is strongly recommended.  He may enjoy swimming at some point as he certainly loves to be pampered in the shower and the rewarding towel snuggles afterwards.  He easily lets you handle his paws, ears, mouth, and trim his nails.  He is moderately affectionate.   Arthur has made huge strides in a very short amount of time, with continued proper exposure, repetition of commands, patience, and a quiet household this pint-sized pup is going to be a great addition to your family.  With time, and some TLC this underdog will be ready to shed his cape to show you his true Superman spirit! ##2815542##

Story
Daisy is a 5 year old German Shorthaired Pointer. She is a dog full of energy and love. Loves to play fetch, run around anywhere she can, or even chase some birds. Daisy is neutered and up to date on vaccines. She is great with other dogs and with kids. She is potty trained and kennel trained. She does get put in the kennel if we will be gone for a while, otherwise we let her roam the house. We are looking to rehome her to a home that has lots of space for her to run and the time to give her the love she deserves.

Story
Meet Blarney (Bear)! 🐾 Hi! I'm Blarney, but my friends call me Bear. I'm about 7 years young and looking for my forever home! I'm my foster mom's shadow and love being with my people. I get along great with my foster dog brother and sister, although I'll happily push my way in if it means getting extra attention! I'm house-trained, kennel trained, neutered, microchipped and up to date on my vaccinations. I love treats, enjoy carrying toys around, and have lots of energy in the mornings before settling in for a relaxing afternoon. One thing to know about me—I'm a bit of a Houdini and can jump low fences, so I'll need a home with a secure, tall fenced yard where I can safely explore and sniff around. I'm looking for a patient family who wants a loyal companion to share a quiet, mellow life with. 📍 Fostered in Sparta, WI 💲 Adoption fee: $350 🏁You can see more about the rescue at https://lastpawrescue.org. Nash is a very sweet dog. He’s very social and just wants to be friends with everyone - humans and dogs. He is very high energy and athletic. He loves to play fetch! He’s also very smart - somewhat trained but definitely not to his full potential. He knows the basic commands, he knows shake and high five, and he waits for your signal before he starts eating. He’s used to living with other dogs. No experience with small children or other animals. His birthday is December 12th. He will be 2 this year.
