Just like the little blue fish from “Finding Nemo,” Dory the Retriever mix is sweet, curious, and full of heart. While she doesn’t suffer from short-term memory loss, she does have a quirk — new people and environments can be a scary at first, and she will bark to let you know she’s unsure. Give her time, patience, and slow introductions and you’ll see her heart shine. Dory loves walks and *lives* for her outdoor adventures — no squirrel distractions here! She would love a fenced yard to run around, and play her favorite game - fetch! She adores squeaky toys (especially squeaky balls) and will happily spend time playing or lounging with her favorite stuffie by her side. She’s friendly with kids, other dogs, and cats, but we recommend she go to a home with only X chromosomes (no men allowed). Another confident and playful dog in the home would be an added bonus to show her the ropes. Once she feels secure, Dory is affectionate, cuddly, and incredibly loyal.This smart girl is fully house trained (she’ll even sit by the door and whine to go out!), sleeps soundly in her crate at night, and can be trusted loose in the house during the day. She knows commands like “sit,” “come,” “walk,” and “outside” — what a good girl!Dory is looking for a forever family who’ll love her for the gentle, goofy, soul she is.
