Just like the little blue fish from “Finding Nemo,” Dory the approx. 1-year-old Retriever mix is sweet, curious, and full of heart. While she doesn’t suffer from short-term memory loss, she does have a quirk — new people, and environments, can be a scary at first, and she will bark to let you know she’s unsure. But give her time, patience, and slow introductions (especially with men), and you’ll see her true heart shine.Dory loves walks and *lives* for her outdoor adventures — no squirrel distractions here! She would love a fenced yard to run around, and play her favorite game, fetch! She adores squeaky toys (especially squeaky balls!) and will happily spend time playing, or lounging with her favorite stuffie by her side. She’s dog, cat, and older kid friendly, but we think she’d thrive best in a calm, easygoing household where she can feel safe, and will be given time to settle in at her own pace. She would do best in a home with another confident, and playful, dog to show her the ropes. Once she feels secure, Dory is affectionate, cuddly, and incredibly loyal.This smart girl is fully house trained (she’ll even sit by the door and whine to go out!), sleeps soundly in her crate at night, and can be trusted loose in the house during the day. She knows commands like “sit,” “come,” “walk,” and “outside” — what a good girl!Dory is looking for a forever family who’ll love her for the gentle, goofy, soul she is.
