ZIGGY is a beautiful, shy girl looking for a home. She's around 5 years old and 34 pounds. We do know a bit of her history, her mama was a pure-bred golden retriever, so her daddy must have been a smaller dog to account for her size. You can see the golden undertones in her gorgeous medium-length coat. Ziggy spent her life living on a farm and as a result she's shy in new surroundings and when meeting new people. She was surrendered to a rural shelter and we pulled her because we knew she would crumble in that environment. She has a lovely disposition and so wants to trust and be loved. She needs a home with a patient adopter willing to take some time to earn her trust. Ziggy seeks out the companionship of other dogs and needs a home with another friendly dog who can help her navigate life. She needs a home with a physically-fenced yard. If you'd like to meet Ziggy and you're willing to take the time to earn her trust, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Ziggy at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Meet Kolbi! She was adopted last June but is returning due to no fault of her own. Kolbi is looking for her forever home in an environment she can thrive in! Kolbi is a loving, loyal dog with so much affection to give and thrives in the right environment. She is wonderful with children and a great companion. Kolbi is very affectionate, loves to snuggle, and enjoys being close to her people. She is food and treat motivated, which makes her fairly obedient and eager to please. She also loves her toys and enjoys playtime just as much as cuddle time. Kolbi can be a little nervous around men and takes time to build trust, so she does best with patience, consistency, and a calm environment. Kolbi is not a big fan of other female dogs and would likely do best as the only dog or possibly with the right male dog after careful introduction. She also does not do well around chickens or ducks, so a home without poultry would be best. She would thrive with someone who understands her boundaries, will give her time to feel safe, and wants a loyal, loving companion. We are happy, playful puppies who got a second chance thanks to a kind Samaritan who found our mama living under a tree, where she had dug a little hole to keep us safe. That’s how we got our gardening herb names! Our foster mama says we are sweet, high-energy love bugs who are always ready for fun and cuddles. We love everyone — kids, other dogs, toys, and playtime are totally our jam! Our mama appears to be a Lab mix, but since we all look a little different, we’re not exactly sure what breeds make up our adorable crew. One thing we do know for sure: we are super cute and ready to find loving forever homes of our own!
