Story
Meet Ferguson! Ferguson is a 1 year old Goldendoodle with Megaesophagus. Normally when a dog swallows, their esophagus moves the food from their mouth to their stomach to be digested. In Megaesophagus, dogs are unable to swallow food normally because their esophagus lacks the muscular tone and motility needed to move food and water. Instead, their esophagus dilates and food backs up, causing them to regurgitate the meal.Thankfully dogs with Megaesophagus can live long and happy lives some some modifications to their day! Ferguson needs to eat and drink in a Bailey chair and sit up for 20-30 minutes after each feeding. He can't have large meals or fatty foods so 3-4 meals a day is important, he is also on a specialty diet. Ferguson is a sweet cuddly boy who just wants love. He is smart and learns quickly even though he can't have treats for motivation. Some love and attention is all the reward he needs. He enjoys playing with his foster fur brother and would love to have a fur sibling in his forever home. He does well with kitty friends too. He needs a home without younger children. One of the most important things with Megaesophagus is that there's nothing for them to eat off the floor. Even though Ferguson is a little extra work this boy is more than worth it!To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Meet India! This girl is the sweetest Golden Retriever mix with a heart of gold. India is 9 years old but is young at heart- she loves playing with her foster dog siblings and zooming around the yard at full speed during play time! The rest of the day is for her two favorite activities- cuddling and napping. She is a breeder surrender and is so happy she gets to soak in all the 1 on 1 attention she can get. She has excellent house manners and will gently come put her head on your lap or ever so slightly extend a paw to let you know it's time for pets :) She is timid but will warm up quickly. India gets along will dogs and kids, and is respectful to cats (even though she may find them a bit scary). She is good in the car, 100% house broken, and loves her crate because it's her safe place. India is on the smaller side for a retriever and has a stunningly deep red coat. Truly she is the unicorn you've been looking for!To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. Story
I adopted Koda when he was around 6 mo (estimated) after he showed up on an uncle’s farm and we could not locate an owner. He is close to 2 yrs now. He came w/ some behavioral challenges I was mostly able to work through. But after moving to an apartment earlier this year, he developed new issues that I think stem from all interactions outside the home being on a leash/restrained. He is very anxious and overly excited around other people and dogs. It has only gotten worse w/ time. He was banned from daycare for aggressive humping 2 mos ago. He’s great w/ my kids (5 & 7) 99% of the time. However, he’s become toy possessive and recently bit my youngest when he went for a ball Koda was chasing. The bite required stitches. He is a very sweet, lovable, goofy boy. I love him and don’t give up on pets, but I know my home is no longer right for him. The ideal home for Koda would have a yard, no young kids and no other dogs unless you’re able to work through re-socializing him.

Story
Rollie is a great dog - truly one of a kind. He is 3 years old and is a blend of American Golden Retriver and English Creme Golden Retriever. He is great in all ways, he just doesn't get along well with other alpha male dogs, which I have. Rollie would thrive in a home with a single dog parent or a couple. He is good with kids but can be a little overwhelming when he gets excited! He is very protective. He is truly the funniest, quirkiest, most entertaining dog I have ever had. He sits like a person, barks like a seal, and is the best walker. You will love him!

Story
ABOUT ME: Greetings, I'm Buddy. While I may not have opposable thumbs, my culinary skills are top-notch when it comes to tasting treats. I've mastered the art of leash walking, but my true passion lies in the kitchen, where I create paw-some moments with my human, whipping up delicious dishes and savoring every bite. FOSTER TYPE: Healing and ComfortFOSTER REASON: I need to gain a bit more weight before I am big and healthy enough for my neuter surgery. I need about 2 - 3 weeks in a foster home.DREAM HOME: I am not too picky! Anywhere I can get treats, cuddles, and lots of fun sounds great to me!SPECIAL NOTE: While I am not available for adoption yet, I am available for foster-to-adopt!APPOINTMENT TYPE: Scheduled - Please fill out an application or email FOSTER@SPCA.ORG to meet me!

Story
ALL PETS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION ONLY TO RESIDENTS OF THE DALLAS/FT WORTH METROPLEX MEET AND GREET APPOINTMENTS SET UP WITH PRE-APPROVED APPLICATION ONLY Honeybee is a gorgeous Golden mix girl who found herself in a terrible high kill shelter in South TX. Thankfully we were able to beg for a foster for her and she has since settled into her foster home. We do not know a whole lot about her history but what we have learned so far is Honeybee needs a home with NO CATS. She is fostered in a home with other dogs but she does not do well with other female dogs with a strong personality. Honeybee adores her foster mom and follows her around so we think she would do best with in a home as an only dog so she could truly relax and be the best girl she can be. Older children would probably be best. Honeybee has some very endearing qualities and she thinks it’s perfectly fine to want to be the center of attention! She hopes you do too! If you would like to meet Honeybee, the first step in the process is to complete an application. Please go to roadtrip4paws.com and click on the Adopt tab to find a link to our online application. Home visits required for all dog adoptions We reserve the right to refuse placement of an animal for any reason
