Meet Julie!Julie is a petite 2-year-old Golden Retriever mix weighing 54 pounds. She came to us from a local shelter with her ten puppies and immediately showed what an incredible soul she is. Julie was a loving, patient, and devoted mother who raised every one of her puppies beautifully. Now that her job is done, it’s finally Julie’s turn to relax and enjoy life in her furever home.Julie embodies everything people love about Golden Retrievers—she is warm, friendly, gentle, patient, and deeply affectionate. She thrives on human connection and has a way of gazing into your eyes with her big, beautiful amber stare that makes you feel truly special. She would do wonderfully in most home environments, especially with loving, engaged humans who enjoy a loyal companion. In the home, Julie is a perfect lady. She is trustworthy and does not require a crate, calmly waiting for her humans to return when left alone. Even now, she sometimes sleeps curled up in a nursing puppy position—a touching reminder of her nurturing heart. With time and love, we believe Julie will rediscover her playful inner puppy.Julie is a dream on walks—calm, attentive, and closely tuned in to her handler. Her focus and responsiveness can be described as service-dog-like, as she truly enjoys being by your side and connected to her person.Julie has not yet been tested with cats or small children, but given her gentle temperament and steady nature, it would not be surprising if she did well with both.Julie has given so much love already in her young life. She is now ready to be someone’s cherished companion and best friend. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt.
