Story
Goose is a 2-year-old, 85-pound lovebug who adores walks, car rides, backyard play, and snuggling with his people. He’s been wonderful with our 8- and 9-year-old children and is a loyal, affectionate companion. He is up to date on all vaccinations and recently had a great vet checkup! Goose has a poultry allergy and eats specific food, so we’ll send a bag home with you to get started. We adopted Goose in October from this website! We love him dearly, but after careful consideration, we feel he would do best in a home that can better meet his needs. Ideally with a tall, fenced in yard.He has done well overall with our other dog, but may thrive best as the only pet or should be in a home with another dog who is also young or closer to his size.We are committed to finding Goose the perfect home and will keep him safe and loved until then.

Story
This gentle giant is Sasha! She was surrendered to the shelter on 4/1 along with her brother, Dino, because their family is moving out of the country. Their former family did note that both dogs are house-trained, good with children, and good with cats and dogs. What a dynamic duo! Ending up in a loud, overwhelming shelter after being in a loving home has been very confusing and sad for these two pups. The volunteers describe them as friendly and gentle on leash. Of the two, Sasha is a little more shy and reserved. They sit nicely when asked. If you have room in your heart and home for XL-sized lovebugs, please come meet Sasha & Dino! Sasha is 8 months old, and weighs 78 lbs. She still has growing to do! Sasha is UTD on vaccines, and did test negative for heartworms. She will be spayed and microchipped upon adoption. Sasha is waiting in kennel 872; her ID # is 17933. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Hi... Im Zeus.
Yeah, I know-I sound like a big deal. King of the gods and all that. But honestly? Im just a really tall guy whos trying to figure out what it means to feel safe and loved.

Im a Great Dane (so yes, I come with the full Dane lean experience), and right now Im working on gaining some weight and strength. I didnt come from the best situation, so my body-and my heart-are both still catching up. I also dont have a tail, but I promise I still wag my whole body when Im happy... which is often, especially around my people.

Ive met just about everyone-dogs, humans, even cats-and Im pretty chill about it. I dont cause drama. Im more of a you do your thing, Ill be over here with my person kind of guy. Because if Im being honest... I really, really love my humans.

Im what they call a velcro dog. That means if you sit down, Im there. If you stand up, Im there. If you go to the bathroom... well, Ill at least consider following. I just feel safest when Im close. I bond deeply, especially with my foster parents-theyve shown me what kindness feels like, and now I dont want to let that go.

I can be anxious sometimes. Loud noises, new situations, or too much change can make me unsure. But when I trust you, I melt. I just need someone patient, someone gentle, someone who understands that love, for me, is about closeness and reassurance.

Oh-and food time? Thats my moment. I get SO excited. Its honestly one of the best parts of my day, and Ill happily show you my best happy dance (again... full body, no tail required).

What Im really looking for is a person (or people) who gets dogs like me. Someone who loves that big, leaning, slightly clingy Dane energy. Someone who doesnt mind that Ill want to be right by your side, always. Because I dont just want a home-I want my person.

If youve got love, patience, and maybe a little extra space on the couch... I think we could be something really special.

Love,
Zeus

Hi… I’m Zeus.Yeah, I know—I sound like a big deal. King of the gods and all that. But honestly? I’m just a really tall guy who’s trying to figure out what it means to feel safe and loved.I’m a Great Dane (so yes, I come with the full “Dane lean” experience), and right now I’m working on gaining some weight and strength. I don’t cause drama. I’m more of a “you do your thing, I’ll be over here with my person” kind of guy. Because if I’m being honest… I really, really love my humans.I’m what they call a “velcro dog.” That means if you sit down, I’m there. If you stand up, I’m there.
