You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website - not through a 3rd party service.**   If you’re searching for a dog who radiates joy and affection, Buttons may be the perfect match for you!  She’s a suspected Great Dane lab mix (we do not DNA test).  She is about 3 years old and 61 lbs.     This lovable girl is always wagging her tail and is truly delighted to meet everyone she encounters, from young children to adults. She has a friendly, social nature and does wonderfully with our resident dog, so she could be a great fit for a home with another canine companion. She also leaves our resident cats alone.   Buttons enjoys spending time outdoors, loves going on walks, and is always ready for her next adventure. Most of all, she wants to be near her people. Whether you’re relaxing at home or out for a stroll, Buttons will be happily by your side with a wagging tail and a heart full of love.   Buttons is looking for a forever family to share all of that sweetness with. Could she be the one for you?   Button’s adoption fees are  $350.  This includes age appropriate vaccines, completed wellness visit, microchip and completed spay. *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. Story
Meet Rave! Raves story was heartbreaking- abandoned in a cemetery in Aruba with her six newborn puppies, only to have them stolen the very next morning. But this resilient girl didn't let tragedy define her. Today, Rave is a joyful, energetic sweetheart who's ready for a fresh start with a family that truly sees her. At around 65 pounds, Rave is a gorgeous, playful companion who's just discovered the joy of retrieving and she will happily entertain herself for hours with her favorite toys. Shes leash-trained, well-mannered, and loves a good car ride. Whether shes romping in the yard or curling up after a day of play, she brings a spark of happiness wherever she goes. However, she prefers to be an only dog. She appears to be a Dane or Mastiff mix. Rave would thrive in a home with plenty of space to stretch her legs - big yard or farm would be ideal. Shes looking for someone who appreciates her zest for life and is ready to give her the love shes always deserved. Ready to give Rave her happily ever after? Shes waiting to meet you. NOTE: This is a courtesy partner post for Paws Path to Furever Rescue.

Story
Hi, I'm Luther and I'm ready to find my forever home! Dog's Name: LutherLocation: Sun Prairie, WIAge: 4 yearsGender: MaleBreed: Great DaneWeight: Approximately 130 lbs Gets along with:Dogs?: Yes! Luther can live with a calm dog with very slow introductions, but he would also be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as your one and only.Cats?: UnknownKids?: Yes, ages 8+. Luther has been gentle when meeting younger children on walks, but because their quick and unpredictable movements can startle him, an 8+ household will be the best fit. Training:Leash Trained: Yes! Walks nicely on a loose leash and is a champion walker for a solid two miles.Crate Trained: Yes. Luther settles quietly, keeps his crate clean, and sleeps well overnight.Potty Trained: Yes!Car: LOVES car rides! An open car door is basically an invitation as far as Luther is concerned. Commands: Knows recall, “leave it,” “off,” and “no.” Continued obedience training will help this smart guy add even more skills to his résumé. Meet Luther — Your 130-Pound Best Friend If your dream dog is sweet, quiet, affectionate, potty trained, great on walks, obsessed with car rides, and perfectly happy spending much of his day napping near you, Luther would like to submit his application. This handsome Great Dane is a true Velcro Dane whose favorite place in the world is wherever his people happen to be. Move to another room? Luther will probably relocate to a new nap spot nearby. Sit down for a minute? Don't be surprised if he wanders over for head pats, ear rubs, or gives you his very best Dane lean requesting a little extra love. And Luther is REALLY good at relaxing. He's a champion napper who has discovered the joy of soft beds and cozy places to rest his giant body. His foster loves the little moan of pure happiness he makes when he settles into an especially comfortable spot. He's also an incredibly quiet guy. His foster has only heard him bark a couple of times, both when something startled him. Around the house, he's content simply being part of the family. But when it's time for an adventure, Luther is ready! He walks beautifully on a loose leash and happily cruises for about two miles before deciding he's completed his exercise requirements and should return to his regularly scheduled napping. He isn't reactive toward other dogs while walking and knows “leave it” when rabbits and squirrels catch his attention. And then there are car rides. Luther absolutely LOVES them. If he spots an open car door, he assumes you've obviously opened it for him and is ready to climb aboard. He's also becoming quite the social butterfly. Luther does wonderfully meeting new people when introductions are slow and calm and happily collects bonus pets from shopkeepers, walkers, bikers, and other friends he encounters on his adventures. At home, Luther is refreshingly easygoing. He's potty trained, quiet in his crate, keeps it clean, and can sleep overnight in his crate or happily snooze on a dog bed in the bedroom as long as his people are nearby. No fenced yard? No problem. Luther's foster says his daily walks are enough to keep him happy, and this giant couch potato could even be an apartment dog with someone committed to giving him his regular walks. He can share his home with a calm dog after very slow introductions, but he absolutely does not need a canine companion to be happy. Luther would thrive as someone's one-and-only giant best friend, too. And here's another great thing about Luther: you don't need years of giant-breed experience to love him. His foster believes a first-time giant-breed owner could be a great match. He'll benefit from continued obedience training as he learns more about life as a beloved family dog, but he's already built a pretty impressive foundation. Luther's previous life may be a mystery, but he's made one thing very clear about what he'd like his future to look like: A soft bed. A good walk. Car rides. Plenty of ear rubs. And a person he can follow from room to room for the rest of his life. If you've been waiting for a gentle giant who wants to be your walking buddy, road-trip copilot, couch companion, and oversized shadow, Luther just might be your perfect match. Could Luther be the giant piece your family has been missing? Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. Dog’s Name: PaprikaLocation: New Smyrna Beach, FLDate of Birth: 1/20/2020Gender: FemaleBreed: Great DaneColor: BlackDog's Weight: 149Adoption Fee: Fully Sponsored! Gets along with:Dogs?: Yes! Paprika recently had a successful introduction with a calm, well-mannered dog, greeting politely with loose body language, play bows, and appropriate disengagement. She does best with thoughtful, slow introductions and calm canine companions.Cats?: Paprika has shown calm curiosity around safely contained cats and has demonstrated the ability to disengage and return to her handler. She has not yet been evaluated with free-roaming cats, so any introductions should be slow, structured, and supervised.Kids?: An adult home or one with older, respectful teenagers would be the best fit for Paprika. Training:Leash trained: Walks loose on leashCrate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on commandPotty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidentsCar:  Rides well in the car Meet Paprika Adoption Fee: Fully Sponsored! Some dogs wear their hearts on their sleeves. Paprika wears hers quietly. She isn't the first dog to rush into every new situation, but give her a moment to look around, decide everything is okay, and you'll discover one of the sweetest, most loyal Great Danes you'll ever meet. Paprika is a gentle, intelligent girl with a curious spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. She loves leisurely walks, exploring the world with her nose, relaxing in her dog run, riding in the car, and simply being part of whatever her people are doing. Once she knows she's safe, her playful, goofy side begins to shine. And Paprika has come a long way. Over the past several months, she's blossomed into a much more confident dog. She now greets new people politely, settles into new environments more quickly, and enjoys meeting visitors through calm, structured introductions. She's incredibly responsive to positive reinforcement and genuinely loves learning with her people—especially when treats and praise are involved. One of Paprika's biggest recent milestones deserves celebrating: she recently had her first successful playdate with another calm, well-mannered dog. She greeted politely, offered play bows, responded beautifully to her handlers, and showed relaxed body language throughout the interaction. It was a wonderful reminder of just how much progress this amazing girl has made. While she still does best with thoughtful introductions and calm canine companions, Paprika has shown she absolutely has the ability to make dog friends. Paprika is observant by nature. She may give a few alert barks when something catches her attention, but instead of rushing to investigate, she's learned to check in with her people and recover quickly. Every day she chooses connection over concern a little more often, and it's been beautiful to watch. At home, Paprika is affectionate, calm, and happiest simply being near the people she loves. She doesn't need constant excitement—she just wants to be included. Whether you're relaxing at home, taking a peaceful walk, or heading out for a drive, Paprika is happiest when she's by your side. Her ideal home is one with adults or older, respectful teenagers who appreciate an intelligent, thoughtful dog. She thrives with routine, kind leadership, and positive reinforcement, and she'll reward that investment with unwavering loyalty and companionship. Calm, well-socialized dogs may also be wonderful companions with proper introductions. Paprika isn't looking for someone to change who she is. She's looking for someone who will appreciate the incredible dog she has already become. Her adoption fee has been fully sponsored, so all that's missing is the person who's been waiting for a gentle giant with a heart full of love. Could that person be you? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact BRu for more information about this pet. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Indigo is a 2 year old female Great Dane who weighs in at 86 pounds. This dog's adoption fee is $500. If you are still interested, please read more below. Indigo (Indy) is an extremely affectionate dog and is adamant about seeking pets and hugs from her foster mom. Indy is a little hesitant upon first meeting someone but she warms up quickly, especially with treats, and likes to lean on the person for affection.  Indy is an energetic dog who gets the zoomies and "bounces" the minute she's let outside. She isn't aware of her size and strength when playing, therefore a family with older children would be recommended. Although Indy has been diagnosed with mild degenerative joint disease in her right hip it doesn't seem to slow her down. Her foster mom jokes that Indy has 2 speeds: full throttle and sleep mode. Indy would do well with an active family to help her burn off some of her energy. Indy has been treated for heartworm and will need to keep her energy contained until about mid August to keep her heartrate down. After that she will be all good and will have no negative health effects from it. She will be able to get back to her zoomies! Indy is extremely food motivated which should make basic training easy, however she shows some fearfulness complying with training commands. She will need a family with patience to continue her training. She has learned what "nose off the counter/table" means and complies well.  Indy is potty trained and lets her foster mom know when she needs to go out by jingling the bells hanging on the back doorknob. She is crated when her foster mom goes to work but is left out during the night. She is a really good girl! Indigo is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and spayed.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are  based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/  Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events.  Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop! August 22, 2026, 1:58 pm
