You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website - not through a 3rd party service.**   If you’re searching for a dog who radiates joy and affection, Buttons may be the perfect match for you!  She’s a suspected Great Dane lab mix (we do not DNA test).  She is about 3 years old and 61 lbs.     This lovable girl is always wagging her tail and is truly delighted to meet everyone she encounters, from young children to adults. She has a friendly, social nature and does wonderfully with our resident dog, so she could be a great fit for a home with another canine companion. She also leaves our resident cats alone.   Buttons enjoys spending time outdoors, loves going on walks, and is always ready for her next adventure. Most of all, she wants to be near her people. Whether you’re relaxing at home or out for a stroll, Buttons will be happily by your side with a wagging tail and a heart full of love.   Buttons is looking for a forever family to share all of that sweetness with. Could she be the one for you?   Button’s adoption fees are  $350.  This includes age appropriate vaccines, completed wellness visit, microchip and completed spay. *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. Story
Meet Rave! Raves story was heartbreaking- abandoned in a cemetery in Aruba with her six newborn puppies, only to have them stolen the very next morning. But this resilient girl didn't let tragedy define her. Today, Rave is a joyful, energetic sweetheart who's ready for a fresh start with a family that truly sees her. At around 65 pounds, Rave is a gorgeous, playful companion who's just discovered the joy of retrieving and she will happily entertain herself for hours with her favorite toys. Shes leash-trained, well-mannered, and loves a good car ride. Whether shes romping in the yard or curling up after a day of play, she brings a spark of happiness wherever she goes. However, she prefers to be an only dog. She appears to be a Dane or Mastiff mix. Rave would thrive in a home with plenty of space to stretch her legs - big yard or farm would be ideal. Shes looking for someone who appreciates her zest for life and is ready to give her the love shes always deserved. Ready to give Rave her happily ever after? Shes waiting to meet you. NOTE: This is a courtesy partner post for Paws Path to Furever Rescue.

Story
Hi, I'm Luther and I'm ready to find my forever home! Dog's Name: LutherLocation: Sun Prairie, WIAge: 4 yearsGender: MaleBreed: Great DaneWeight: Approximately 130 lbs Gets along with:Dogs?: Luther can live with a calm, larger dog with very slow introductions, but he would also be perfectly happy as the only dog. Small dogs are not recommended because he becomes overly interested in them.Cats?: UnknownKids?: Yes Training:Leash Trained: Walks nicely on a loose leash and happily cruises for 2–3 milesCrate Trained: Yes; settles quickly and keeps his crate cleanPotty Trained: Yes!Car: LOVES car ridesCommands: Knows “no” and “leave it”; continued obedience training recommended Meet Luther Luther is approximately 130 pounds of Velcro Dane, champion napper, and professional soft-spot seeker. His life before rescue is a bit of a mystery, and many of the everyday comforts of living in a home seem to be new to him. He arrived with callouses on his legs, feet, and belly, suggesting that soft places to rest that giant body may have been hard to come by. Now? Luther has discovered soft beds—and he is making up for lost time. His foster loves hearing the sweet little moan of appreciation he makes when he settles into a cozy spot. And don't expect to move to another room without him noticing. Luther is a true Velcro Dane who happily follows his favorite people around the house, relocating from nap spot to nap spot just so he can stay nearby. Luther loves head pats and ear rubs and has already mastered the famous Dane lean when he'd like a little more attention. He actively seeks out people to give and receive affection and even moans with delight when his ears are cleaned. Apparently, Luther has decided spa treatments are another perk of his new life! He's also remarkably quiet. His foster has only heard him bark twice—and both times were because something startled him. But don't let all that napping fool you. Luther loves a good walk. This long-legged guy will happily cruise for two or three miles before heading home to begin his next scheduled series of naps. He isn't reactive toward dogs on walks and can be redirected from tempting rabbits and squirrels with a firm “leave it.” Small dogs get a little too much of his attention, though, so they wouldn't be the right roommates for him. Luther can live with a calm, larger dog after very slow introductions, but here's the good news for anyone looking for just one giant best friend: Luther would be completely content as your one and only. And if there's an open car door nearby? Luther assumes you've obviously opened it for him. This boy absolutely LOVES car rides and is always ready to climb aboard. Luther also does wonderfully meeting people. With slow, calm greetings, he happily accepts bonus pets from shopkeepers, walkers, bikers, and other new friends he meets along the way. At home, he's an easygoing companion. He's potty trained, settles nicely in his crate, isn't destructive or chewy, and is equally delighted to sleep on a dog bed in the bedroom as long as his people are nearby. He doesn't require a fenced yard and could even do well in an apartment as long as he gets his daily walks. Luther is still gaining some much-needed weight and would benefit from continued basic obedience training, but his foster believes even a first-time dog owner could be a great match for him. Luther doesn't seem to be asking for much from his next chapter. A soft place to sleep. A good walk. An occasional car ride. Plenty of ear rubs. And, most importantly, a person he can follow from room to room for the rest of his life. If you've been looking for a sweet, laid-back giant shadow who wants nothing more than to be part of your everyday life, Luther may be the one you've been waiting for. ##2800322##

Dog’s Name: PaprikaLocation: New Smyrna Beach, FLDate of Birth: 1/20/2020Gender: FemaleBreed: Great DaneColor: BlackDog's Weight: 149Adoption Fee: Fully Sponsored! Gets along with:Dogs?: Yes! Paprika recently had a successful introduction with a calm, well-mannered dog, greeting politely with loose body language, play bows, and appropriate disengagement. She does best with thoughtful, slow introductions and calm canine companions.Cats?: Paprika has shown calm curiosity around safely contained cats and has demonstrated the ability to disengage and return to her handler. She has not yet been evaluated with free-roaming cats, so any introductions should be slow, structured, and supervised.Kids?: An adult home or one with older, respectful teenagers would be the best fit for Paprika. Training:Leash trained: Walks loose on leashCrate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on commandPotty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidentsCar:  Rides well in the car Meet Paprika Adoption Fee: Fully Sponsored! Some dogs wear their hearts on their sleeves. Paprika wears hers quietly. She isn't the first dog to rush into every new situation, but give her a moment to look around, decide everything is okay, and you'll discover one of the sweetest, most loyal Great Danes you'll ever meet. Paprika is a gentle, intelligent girl with a curious spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. She loves leisurely walks, exploring the world with her nose, relaxing in her dog run, riding in the car, and simply being part of whatever her people are doing. Once she knows she's safe, her playful, goofy side begins to shine. And Paprika has come a long way. Over the past several months, she's blossomed into a much more confident dog. She now greets new people politely, settles into new environments more quickly, and enjoys meeting visitors through calm, structured introductions. She's incredibly responsive to positive reinforcement and genuinely loves learning with her people—especially when treats and praise are involved. One of Paprika's biggest recent milestones deserves celebrating: she recently had her first successful playdate with another calm, well-mannered dog. She greeted politely, offered play bows, responded beautifully to her handlers, and showed relaxed body language throughout the interaction. It was a wonderful reminder of just how much progress this amazing girl has made. While she still does best with thoughtful introductions and calm canine companions, Paprika has shown she absolutely has the ability to make dog friends. Paprika is observant by nature. She may give a few alert barks when something catches her attention, but instead of rushing to investigate, she's learned to check in with her people and recover quickly. Every day she chooses connection over concern a little more often, and it's been beautiful to watch. At home, Paprika is affectionate, calm, and happiest simply being near the people she loves. She doesn't need constant excitement—she just wants to be included. Whether you're relaxing at home, taking a peaceful walk, or heading out for a drive, Paprika is happiest when she's by your side. Her ideal home is one with adults or older, respectful teenagers who appreciate an intelligent, thoughtful dog. She thrives with routine, kind leadership, and positive reinforcement, and she'll reward that investment with unwavering loyalty and companionship. Calm, well-socialized dogs may also be wonderful companions with proper introductions. Paprika isn't looking for someone to change who she is. She's looking for someone who will appreciate the incredible dog she has already become. Her adoption fee has been fully sponsored, so all that's missing is the person who's been waiting for a gentle giant with a heart full of love. Could that person be you? Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Don't let the name fool you! Charlie is a 2.5 year old FEMALE Great Dane who came to ARF very skinny and now weighs in at 95 pounds. This dog's adoption fee is $650.  If you are still interested, please read more below. Charlie is a typical Great Dane - a sweet girl full of love. She will be right there with you on the couch taking all the attention you can give. Charlie loves to meet and play with other dogs of all sizes but is not friendly with other small animals. She has not been cat tested. She loves to play with the other dog in her foster home in the backyard. Charlie is housebroken except for a few accidents when she was first adjusting to her new environment. Charlie needs some basic training. She is smart and very food motivated so she picks things up quickly with treat rewards. She can be shy with new people at first, but she warms up to them easily after a little time and a treat or two. Given her size, she would do best with older children. She likes to lean on people and her play style may be too much for little humans. Any adopter needs to be prepared for how big Charlie is, and she will go for food her reach - she can reach the top of the refrigerator! She only goes for food when her foster is out of the house. She is a good girl when her foster is home. Her foster feels confident she can be trained out of her refrigerator surfing. She has already gotten better with a little training and her human putting everything away when going out. Charlie is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and spayed.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are  based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/  Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events.  Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop! August 19, 2026, 11:15 pm
