Story
Mr Loyal! That is what describes this boy in one word. Romo was once owned by someone in Aruba who then moved to the Netherlands. They gave him to some friends that let him roam the streets. We found him strolling along at a bus stop with a huge hematoma on his ear. He jumped right in the car and we took him to the vet. He had surgery and has now recovered from it. We were asked to take him with us to the US as the new owners didn't have the means to take care of him. Romo is an extremely loyal dog, calm and quiet and at the same time friendly with people and dogs. He's is extremely well mannered. Call us to hear about him and learn why we think he is the most loyal dog. His previous owner says he is 4 years old ( the vet says 5) and if you look on our Facebook page you will see all his posts about him. Oh and yes he loves riding in the car with you. He is house broken, does not like the cage to much, but that's ok. He doesn't get himself in trouble in the house. This is a great big dog! He mostly looks like a Great Daner, but could also have some Labrador in it. He is not a drooler like the Danes are. He likes other dogs but will also do well when being just with his special person. We would like to adopt him out within 40 miles of Elgin. His adoption fee is $350 to help us with the cost for his plane ride and the associated vet expenses.

Hi, I’m Daffodil and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Daffodil Location: Waukegan, Il Age or Date of Birth: 02/04/2025 Gender: Female Breed: Great Dane Color: Dog's Weight: 35 Gets along with: Dogs?: Unknown Cats?: Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Car:  Rides Well in car After a long journey, sweet Daffodil has officially arrived — and she’s already capturing hearts! This calm and easy-going girl was a perfect angel during her car ride, quietly soaking in the world around her with grace and patience.  From the moment she arrived, Daffodil clung lovingly to her foster — as if they’d been best friends forever. She’s a true gentle soul, already showing just how affectionate and loyal she is. Daffodil has done amazingly well with children, having calmly and sweetly met her foster’s two-year-old and nine-month-old.  While she’s still a bit hesitant around the resident alpha dogs (totally understandable in a new environment), Daffodil is being given the time and space she needs to adjust — and she’s already starting to show signs of blossoming confidence.  With a little love, patience, and encouragement, Daffodil is sure to shine.  ##2422918##

Story
A few years ago, this sweet girl was found dumped along the fence of our rescue! She was skin and bones and needed immediate help, so we named her MayDay. Our best guess is she around 6 or 7 years old and a Great Dane/ Staffshire terrier mix. She is very gentle, loves people, and really enjoys car rides. Mayday gets along with males, but is not very playful with other dogs. She would do best as the only fur baby in the home. Since she has been a kennel dog her whole life, MayDay is not pot trained so she will need a family who understands that. This dear girl would love a chance to live out her days in the comfort of a home with a family who will love her! If you want to give MayDay that chance, find us at https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/ to fill out an application or on facebook (tails of the forgotten paws)

Story
Meet Bubbles, a sweet and playful 1-year-old Lab/Great Dane/Hound mix with a stunning white coat and a heart as big as her paws! Weighing 60 lbs, she still thinks she's a lap dog and loves cuddling up with you. Bubbles adores winter frolics, especially when playing with her two resident beagle pals, and her gentle, energetic nature makes her perfect for a family that enjoys outdoor fun and cozy evenings. Housebroken and well-mannered, Bubbles gets along great with other dogs. She would thrive in an active home with plenty of space—ideally a fenced yard—and lots of love. Please note, chases cats pretty relentlessly. Bubbles is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and ready to find her forever family. Could that be you? If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! Clicking the "Start your Inquiry" button is internal to Petfinder, and will only delay the process - please copy the link and submit the application. The adoption fee of $300 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family.
