Story
A few years ago, this sweet girl was found dumped along the fence of our rescue! She was skin and bones and needed immediate help, so we named her MayDay. Our best guess is she around 6 or 7 years old and a Great Dane/ Staffshire terrier mix. She is very gentle, loves people, and really enjoys car rides. Mayday gets along with males, but is not very playful with other dogs. She would do best as the only fur baby in the home. Since she has been a kennel dog her whole life, MayDay is not pot trained so she will need a family who understands that. This dear girl would love a chance to live out her days in the comfort of a home with a family who will love her! If you want to give MayDay that chance, find us at https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/ to fill out an application or on facebook (tails of the forgotten paws)

Story
Mr Loyal! That is what describes this boy in one word. Romo was once owned by someone in Aruba who then moved to the Netherlands. They gave him to some friends that let him roam the streets. We found him strolling along at a bus stop with a huge hematoma on his ear. He jumped right in the car and we took him to the vet. He had surgery and has now recovered from it. We were asked to take him with us to the US as the new owners didn't have the means to take care of him. Romo is an extremely loyal dog, calm and quiet and at the same time friendly with people and dogs. He's is extremely well mannered. Call us to hear about him and learn why we think he is the most loyal dog. His previous owner says he is 4 years old ( the vet says 5) and if you look on our Facebook page you will see all his posts about him. Oh and yes he loves riding in the car with you. He is house broken, does not like the cage to much, but that's ok. He doesn't get himself in trouble in the house. This is a great big dog! He mostly looks like a Great Daner, but could also have some Labrador in it. He is not a drooler like the Danes are. He likes other dogs but will also do well when being just with his special person. We would like to adopt him out within 40 miles of Elgin. His adoption fee is $350 to help us with the cost for his plane ride and the associated vet expenses.

Story
Meet Beefcake, a goofy and HUGE 1-year-old male Great Dane who's looking for his best human buddy. Beefcake is a big guy with a big heart. This giant is affectionate at home and adoringly leans on his humans, but he's still learning to navigate his size. Beefcake is deaf, which means he relies on visual cues for communication. He's nervous meeting new people on leash, but is friendly once he gets to know them. Beefcake has some territorial tendencies and is currently working with our professional dog trainers to address these behaviors. He needs someone who’s willing to be consistent with training, work with the tools he requires and be patient as he learns and progresses. He enjoys being around other dogs, but cats are not his thing. Beefcake must go to a home with someone who has experience with very large dogs and is willing to continue his training journey. His ideal home is with a single adult or adult couple — no children, please, due to his size and training needs. If you're ready to give Beefcake the guidance and attention he needs, he'll be a loyal companion in return. This beefy boy needs an experienced owner and a lot of love, structure and patience—could it be you? Ready to meet Beefcake? Come see how this big bundle of joy can fit into your home. Story
Meet Nala! Age: Adult Weight: 85lbs Breed: Great Dane Good with: Dogs, cats and older kids House trained: Yes Crate trained: Not required Special needs: Hypertrophic Osteo Dystrophy, needs a home without stairs Nala is a sweet and loving pup who has been through some difficult physical challenges and is looking for a patient, compassionate forever home. Nala was confiscated by Animal Control due to neglect. She was born with Hypertrophic Osteo Dystrophy that went untreated. This rare condition affects bone growth in affected puppies that require steroids to treat painful flare ups and in Nala caused some deformation in her limbs and joints. Despite this condition, Nala is an incredibly gentle and loving dog. She has yet to meet a stranger and loves all the dogs and people she has met. Because of her size, it is recommended that she live with older children. She is housebroken and does not require a crate when left alone. Because of her condition, a home without stairs would be best for her. Nala is looking for a cuddle buddy as she is super snuggly and a Velcro pup in her foster home. Sadly, we do not know what the future holds for Nala due to her medical concerns. She is looking for and deserves a home where she can be cherished despite the challenges she faces. Nala radiates love and affection, are you the person who can share your heart and home with a pup in need? **Nala is fostered in Brookfield **Nala’s adoption fee is partially sponsored!! Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $200, ($550 for a pair). Story
Venus is an adorable, Great Dane mix who weighs about 109 lbs. She can be a little shy and timid at first, but once you give her a few treats, she is sweet and affectionate. She knows basic commands like `sit`, `down`, `paw`, `leave-it`, `watch` and more! She is potty-trained and crate trained. She is considered a medium energy dog, who is food motivated and very bright because she is picking up training fast! She would do best in a house without other pets. She is a sensitive girl who is working hard on her dog reactivity training during walks! She is a good dog who will stare into your eyes lovingly and give little kisses. She is also a good office companion while her foster mom works from home!
