Story
Meet Castle, also known as my big baby. She’s sweet, affectionate, and always ready to play. Fetch is her favorite thing in the world, followed by walks and hiking. Castle is truly an incredible dog with so much love to give. Castle was raised with an older dog who had some aggression issues and developed some toy aggression of her own, mainly around her ball. This has been manageable, and we avoid dog parks and situations with other dogs. With structure and consistency, she does very well. Rehoming Castle is an incredibly difficult decision. As a single dad with a 5-year-old daughter, I don’t currently have the time and resources she deserves. If my situation were different, this wouldn’t be my choice. I love her deeply. Castle would thrive with an active, experienced person who wants a loyal adventure buddy. She’ll benefit from continued training, but most of all she needs love, consistency, and fun. With the right person, she’ll be an amazing companion.

Story
Polaris' former owners were heartbroken to give him up as he's just the sweetest and most loving dog! Sadly, Polaris came to the shelter because one of his former owners is facing some serious health issues. They wanted to keep him, but they knew it wasn't possible, so they brought him to the shelter in the hopes that someone special would find him and give him a good home. Polaris is very friendly. He's a little overwhelmed to be here at the shelter because it's a big change, and he loves to be with his people, but he's been lovely with everyone here. He is a bit jumpy currently, but that can be helped with training and plenty of exercise. He just needs to have his needs met. Polaris is sweet with people, but since he's somewhat of a "bull in a china shop," we think he wouldn't do well with little kids; only sturdy older kids for this guy! A big dog might be a match (pending a dog meeting here at the shelter), but he'd be too much dog for a small dog). No cats for this guy! Polaris is so deserving of a good home. Are you the one that could bring a happy ending to this story? Polaris is looking to start the next chapter of his life. If you're interested in our special boy, please call the shelter at (603) 472-3647 and press 1 to schedule an appointment.

Story
Rodger (approximately 84 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. With enough wrinkles on his forehead to rival a ski slope, this boy's good looks will get your attention while his sweet & goofy nature will keep you coming back for more. His foster mama reports that Rodger is a lover boy who ADORES being in his humans' personal space. He thinks he's a lap dog and will lay his head in your lap for petting. Rodger is a (mostly) gentle giant with good manners; he is a medium energy fellow who likes to go on walks but he also enjoys a good nap or some time to chill with his dog siblings. He would thrive in a home with other dogs that like to play with large dogs. Rodger has the tail of a Great Dane - if you know, you know - as well as the ability to somehow be a baby while also being a full grown man. Rodger has other Dane-like qualities, including an initial reservation with strangers...but he is easily won over with treats & praise. If you love a big, goofy, fun-loving dog who has the ability to chill while also being the cutest man to ever play with toys, Rodger is your guy!If you'd like to meet Rodger and all his friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). Have questions? Call (603) 772-2921 ext. 110 or email info@nhspca.org today. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 38.2 Age: 1yrs 3mths 2wks

Story
Meet Mochi and Tofu — two incredibly sweet pups with hearts as big as their comeback story. Once sick, terrified, and nearly furless from mange and severe infections, they fought their way back to health with the help of devoted veterinary care and a loving rescue team. Their brother sadly didn’t survive, but these two little survivors spent a month in the hospital proving just how strong and determined they are.Today, Mochi and Tofu are happy, playful, and full of life. Their coats have grown back beautifully, with only a couple of thin spots still catching up — a reminder of how far they’ve come. Now in their foster home, they’re discovering that the world can be safe, fun, and filled with love.Life for these pups is all about routine and joy: breakfast and outdoor play in the morning, cozy crate naps while foster mom is at work, and then dinner followed by more puppy antics before bed. Because they came from a place where food wasn’t guaranteed, they’re still learning to trust that every meal will come — they eat separately to avoid arguing over who gets more, though they show no aggression with people.Mochi and Tofu would thrive with an active couple or family, especially one that enjoys adventures like walks, runs, and hikes. Older children would be a great fit for their energy and enthusiasm. After overcoming so much at such a young age, Mochi and Tofu are ready for the best part of their story — a forever home where they can continue to grow, explore, and be cherished every single day.
