🐾💛 DOUBLE THE LOVE, DOUBLE THE LOYALTY 💛🐾 Some dogs are happiest with their people. Zeus and Zora are happiest with each other. 🖤 This bonded pair has built a quiet little world together, and they’re looking for a home willing to open their heart to both of them. While their personalities are different, they balance each other beautifully. ✨ Zeus is the more sensitive of the two. New people and sudden movements can make him cautious at first, especially around larger men, but once he feels safe? He turns into a complete love bug. Zeus loves to follow his people from room to room, curl up close, and be part of whatever you’re doing. He still has a playful side too and enjoys tug toys and roughhousing around with Zora. He’s learning that the world isn’t so scary and continues to gain confidence every day. ✨ Zora is the calm, steady presence in the pair. She’s more laid back, happiest lounging nearby or curling up on you like a giant teddy bear while you relax. She’s not much for playtime and would prefer a peaceful home without younger, overly energetic dogs. Zora can be sensitive to noises and unfamiliar sounds, but once she settles into a routine, she relaxes beautifully and becomes incredibly affectionate. 💛 Together, they: ✔️ Are bonded and rely on each other for comfort ✔️ Love spending time outside with their people ✔️ Walk wonderfully together ✔️ Are eating well and adjusting nicely in foster care ✔️ Enjoy a calm routine and quiet companionship ✔️ Are affectionate, loyal, and deeply loving once they trust you Zeus may occasionally react when seeing other dogs on walks, but he redirects well with guidance and continues to improve. Both dogs thrive with patience, consistency, and a calm environment where they can feel secure. These two don’t need perfection. They just need someone willing to give them the chance to stay together. 🐾 And once they trust you? You’ll never question whether it was worth.

Story
Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Barney ❤️ Barney may only be six months old, but he's already proven that he's one tough little survivor. Shortly after entering rescue, Barney was diagnosed with Parvo and spent three weeks in emergency veterinary carefighting for his life. Through it all, he never stopped wagging his tail or showing everyone just how determined he was to make it. Today, this handsome Great Dane/Terrier mix is healthy, happy, and finally ready to find the forever family he's worked so hard to meet. Barney is everything you'd hope for in a puppy. He's playful, affectionate, curious, and always ready for his next adventure. He absolutely loves other dogs, does wonderfully with cats, and adores children. Whether he's romping around the yard with canine friends or snuggling up after a busy day, Barney is happiest when he's surrounded by the people and animals he loves. Because Barney is a recent Parvo survivor, he is not yet vaccinated. His veterinarian has recommended waiting until the appropriate time so his vaccines will be fully effective. He is also not yet neutered, and his adopter will need to work with MMAR to complete his remaining veterinary care according to our adoption agreement. Barney has already overcome more in six months than many dogs experience in a lifetime. Now he's ready for the easy part: being someone's beloved best friend. If you're looking for a joyful, resilient puppy with a heart of gold and a lifetime of love to give, Barney is waiting to meet you. ❤️. Physical fence requiredVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm.  Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.   Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.   Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.   MMAR is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c) 3, non profit organization. Without your donation, wonderful pets like these have to be passed by because we cannot afford their care.   If you would like to donate please send donation to: MMAR Box 180155 Utica, MI 48318   Donate online at https://www.sanilacscoopers.org/   Please email us at mmarpaws@gmail.com for additional information or to set up special appointments August 14, 2026, 8:03 am

Story
Mukluk A18660573 lb. neutered male, approx 1 year old -She is a big, squishy, absolutely hilarious puppy who apparently believes that personal space is just a suggestion. 😂 This girl is pure fun and has enough enthusiasm for about three dogs!-She’s very treat motivated, knows “sit,” and takes her snacks beautifully. She does have some puppy manners to work on—when she gets excited, she may launch herself into you with all the grace of a flying couch cushion. She’s also still figuring out just how large her body and tail actually are, so her new family may want to secure anything breakable… and possibly anything shorter than her. Small humans beware! 😂-She was a strong puller on leash and was convinced we should be going somewhere much faster, but she did significantly better when I switched her to a harness for the walk back. She wasn’t interested in toys today, but she has plenty of other ways to entertain herself. Her favorite place is right beside you, preferably sitting on your feet while soaking up pets and handing out big, slobbery kisses.-She’s got a goofy, lovable personality and the heart of a giant puppy. She may need some help learning to navigate the world with a little more finesse, but she’s going to be an absolute blast for someone who enjoys a big, silly, affectionate dog with a whole lot of personality!-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
Belle is the sweetest most loving 2 year old baby. Belle loves hard and will always greet you when you get home. She does love to give hugs and kisses by putting her paws on your shoulders. Belle loves tug of war with her toys and chew toys are a must. She will lay around and chew on them everyday. She is super smart and will let herself outside if you leave the door unlocked. Belle loves to run and play with her sister Charlie and is very inquisitive with what’s going on in the neighborhood. Belle has become less tolerant of little dogs as she has gotten older and gets nervous around little kids due to their sudden and quick movements. Belle would love to be re-homed with her sister Charlie but would be ok being separated as well.
