Whatever breeds came together to create this handsome boy, they gave him the sweetest personality, the cutest floppy ears, and the perfect balance of playful puppy energy and laid-back cuddles. Flame is everything you'd hope for in a puppy. He's friendly, social, curious, and always excited to make a new friend. He approaches life with so much enthusiasm that it's hard not to smile watching him explore the world around him. Whether he's trotting around with one of his favorite toys, investigating something new, or simply soaking up all the attention he can get, Flame is happiest when he's included in the fun. Speaking of toys... this boy loves them! He enjoys chasing after toys, proudly carrying them around, and playing a good game of tug-of-war. He's still working on the whole "bring it back" part of fetch, but he certainly has the chasing part mastered. Once playtime is over, though, Flame is more than happy to settle down for some affection. He's a sweet, loving puppy who enjoys being close to his people and has a wonderful off-switch after he's gotten his puppy energy out. Flame is currently fostered in a home with two precious little girls and other dogs, and he's fitting right in. In fact, one of his favorite places to be is snuggled up in the girls' arms, soaking up all the love and attention they have to give. His gentle, affectionate nature makes him a joy to have around, and he loves being part of whatever his family is doing. He's already crate trained and generally does very well in his kennel. Potty training has also been off to a great start, and he's been learning where the appropriate potty places are. Like any young puppy, he'll likely need a little reminder once he arrives in a brand-new environment, but with consistency, patience, and routine, we expect him to continue making great progress. Flame is also a smart little guy who already knows how to sit and takes treats so gently from your hand. He's eager to learn, loves his treats, and has all the makings of a puppy who will enjoy continuing his training with his forever family. Like all puppies, Flame will need continued socialization, training, and guidance as he grows into adulthood. Dane was running out of time through no fault of his own. He found himself in a small rural shelter where space had run out, putting him on the euthanasia list simply because there wasn't room. Thankfully, Dane got a second chance. At around a year old, this stunning blue merle Great Dane mix is as easygoing as they come. He enjoys going for walks, hanging out with his dog friends, and taking plenty of naps in between. Dane gets along great with dogs of all sizes and with cats, making him an easy fit for many homes. Hi! I’m Joy, and yes, I’m here to bring a whole lot of it! I’m a 1 year old, 92 lb. Great Dane with a BIG heart and BIG personality! I may look all grown up, but I’m still a young girl who has lots to learn and lots of life to experience. I’m a total sweetheart, but I’m not the type who wants to sit around all day. I LOVE getting out, exploring, going on walks, and finding new adventures. My dream family would be one who wants to take me along for the fun and keep my busy brain and body happy! I’m also a big fan of making new dog friends! I can get a little too enthusiastic during playtime, though, and sometimes I forget just how big I am. I’d do best with dogs who enjoy a good, energetic play session and humans who can help me learn appropriate play skills. Since I’m still young, I’d really love a family who will continue working with me using positive reinforcement training. I’m smart, eager to learn, and ready to show you just how much I can grow! Meet Diesel! 🤍 Diesel is a stunning one-year-old Great Dane weighing in at 105 pounds of pure love, goofiness, and puppy energy. While he may look like a full-grown dog, he’s really just a giant puppy who’s still learning how big he is. Diesel is incredibly affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he’s with his person. He’ll gladly shower you with kisses, follow you from room to room, and do just about anything to convince you it’s time to play. If you’re looking for a dog who will be your best friend through every adventure, Diesel is ready for the job. Because of his size and enthusiasm, Diesel needs an active home with someone who is committed to continuing his training and ideally has experience with giant breeds or understands what it takes to raise one. He’s very mouthy when he plays—not aggressive, just expressive—and it’s simply part of how he communicates. He has never shown us any intentional aggression, but his size and puppy exuberance mean he isn’t the right fit for every home. Diesel gets along wonderfully with both big and small dogs. The only challenge is that he tries to play with little dogs the same way he plays with dogs his own size. He truly has no idea he’s over 100 pounds, so he’ll do best with someone who can help him continue learning appropriate manners. We also want to share a part of Diesel’s story. Before coming to The Asher House, Diesel was adopted from a shelter for just one night before being returned after an accident. While someone was eating barbecue ribs, Diesel excitedly jumped up to grab the food and accidentally caught the person’s face. There was no blood, no stitches, and no lasting injury. Sadly, because of the incident, the shelter was considering euthanasia before reaching out to us. Since arriving here, Diesel has been nothing but a gentle, loving boy. He has been wonderful with our staff, adores people, and quickly bonds with his favorite person. We truly believe the incident was just that—an accident caused by an oversized puppy who got too excited around food. Diesel would do best in a home with children 16 years and older, no cats, and a family that can match his energy while continuing to help him grow into the incredible dog we know he is.
