Story
Meet Lavender Willow. She has a demeanor that is as peaceful as her name incites. She is like a gentle fresh breeze on a spring day. She is a dainty lady who just wants to be loved. We believe Willow is a great dane mix of some sort weighing approximately 50 pounds and is about 1 year old. Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. But that’s what makes rescue the best! She is a Texas special uniquely handcrafted for you and your family. :) Watch Willow in all of her elegance here: https://youtu.be/fLiYkLCWT8g The thing that makes Willow so special is that she is the poster child for being a gentle giant. Her soft eyes and demure personality makes her incredibly hard to resist. When you’re around her, all you want to do is baby her and give her kisses and let her rest in your lap. She is 100% man’s best friend and will thrive being with a family who wants to devote their love to her. Willow prefers people over cats and dogs alike. When she met Biggie, our house cat, she sniffed him, but was indifferent to his presence. She currently lives with cats at her foster home and incites play occasionally. If she were to be in a home with cats, they would need to be dog savvy and okay with the occasional puppy curiosity. When it came to meeting the dogs on property, she was peaceful with them, but chose to stay with the humans over joining the other dogs in play. She would be perfectly fine as a single dog! She wouldn’t attest to claiming all of the love for herself! But if there were another dog in the home, it would be best if it were with a pup that matches her soft, low energy. Wherever the people went, Willow was there to follow! She was my little shadow as we walked around the yard and inside she just wanted to be by Isabel the whole time. It was honestly nice to feel so wanted by her. If you are looking for a best friend that you can rely on to cuddle with you throughout the day and night, Willow is your perfect match! She hasn’t been around children, but we would be happy to see how she responds to the energy of kids if you have them in your life! Just let us know. We want to make sure she is perfect for you! She is a medium sized dog who has the potential to get a bit bigger as she grows to her full size. It would be best if she lived in a home with a yard over an apartment lifestyle so that she could get her daily exercise in. She did excellent on leash and would make a great walking partner! Willow is such an amazing girl and will be a huge blessing to whoever chooses to invite her to be a part of her family. Does Willow sound like the girl for you? We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. Story
Meet Aspen Breeze! With a demeanor fitting of his name, he is a big chill puppy boy who we have fallen absolutely in love with here at Rustic! We believe Aspen is a Husky Dane mix of some sort who is around a year old. He weighs approximately 60 pounds and is probably still growing a bit more! Due to him being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. But that’s the fun of rescue! You get a perfect pup mixed with surprise breeds. They’re an exclusive breed just for you and your family ;) Check out Aspen here: https://youtu.be/uX968HQdrAc Aspen is the definition of a gentle giant. His entire time with us, he remained calm and peaceful. He coexists beautifully with all living beings. He truly is such a special boy. His demeanor makes him the perfect work from home or patio companion. When you’re at home, he wants to be by your feet, seeking the assurance that he has somebody to love him. And he is so docile with others, that if you brought him out, he seems like the type that would just stay by you as you enjoyed your coffee or fresh draft pour. When we introduced him to the dogs on campus, he remained gentle with all of them. He allowed them to conduct their exploratory sniffs and joined them for little tromps around the yard. If he were to be in a home with other dogs, he would do well with other dogs that match his laid back energy. He isn’t the one to initiate play or stay in play mode very long. He would also do just fine as a solo dog soaking in all of the love for himself! Due to his size, it would be best if he lived in a house with a yard to stretch his legs for a bit daily. But his demeanor is so chill that he would do okay in an apartment with an owner that can offer him an active lifestyle of getting daily walks. When we introduced him to Biggie, our housecat, he was very cautious and respectful of this new feline friend. He offered some curious sniffs but ultimately stayed away. We consider him to be cat tolerant! If you have a cat in your home and are interested to see how he does for a prolonged time with felines, please feel free to let us know! We want to make sure he is perfect for your family! We didn’t get to bring him any children while he was with us, but he was very respectful when we passed by a bunch of kids volunteering at the property. He is a young boy and shows potential to be a great family dog! We are happy to introduce him to any age child that may be in your home to see how he reacts! Aspen is a 10/10 on the good doggo scale. He is literally man’s best friend. He is a sweet boy who genuinely wants to be loved by his people. His heart is huge and he is ready to devote his love and attention to those who want to devote theirs to him. Does Aspen sound like your new best friend? Dane is a stunning blue merle great dane mix. He is about 8 months old and great with dogs of all sizes and with cats. He was rescued from a small rural shelter where he was slated to be euthanized due to time and space. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Story
**All dogs are by appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, Adopt-a-pet, Rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org for the dogs questionnaire*** Hi, I am Ottis, I am almost 4yrs old, neutered male, Great Dane/Catahoula mix. I love humans, I am incredibly sweet, eager to please, love to lay in your lap. I have lived with adults and children. I am looking for a very special home, the shelter team has worked hard to help me with my dog reactivity, I would love a home on a property, with no dogs, I can now see other dogs and be okay with them, but I don't want to live with them or go to dog parks. I will love you with all of my heart, I am great with all kind of loud sounds, and am not scared of the riding lawn mower. I just need someone to give me a chance, the shelter team knows I am not perfect, but they saw my potential and saw how much heart I have, they think I deserve a real life and they believe there is a special person out there who will give it to me. My adoption fee is $200
