Story
Hi! My name is Daisy, and I am three and a half years old with beautiful Brindle Myrle markings. I need a new home, the sooner the better. I need a home where I am the only dog. While I have grown up with male dogs, one older and one younger and might be okay sharing a home with another male dog, I cannot share my home with another girl dog. My heart is big, but sometimes I just a bit jealous of your love and attention! I am also a little nervous about transitioning to a new home. I am hoping the person that falls in love with me will understand big loveable Great Danes, and can help me feel comfortable being in a new place with new people. In exchange, you will be my everything and I will give you all my love and undivided attention. I am still young, bouncy, and energetic so playtime is important to me. If you toss treats to me, I can catch them in the air. I know my basic commands, like sit, stay, down and lie down. If you happen to have some Beggin Strips, I will do just about anything you ask! Currently, I am alone approximately 8 hours a day. I have a giant doggy door that allows me access to the outside. I have never been in a crate and I do know how to behave myself when left alone. In fact, when the weather is nice, I will often find a warm sunny spot outside to pass the time. I travel well and don’t mind being in the car. I’m also good around cats! I really need to find a new home. I hope you will consider me; I still have a long lifetime of love to share with you. If you are considering adopting me, please reach out and get more information about me. MAGDRL adopts to eastern NY, eastern PA, DE, WV, MD, NJ and VA only. Please visit our website: www.magdrl.org for adoption procedures and fencing policies.

Story
Meet our lovely Blondie! She is a 4- year-old Great Dane mix who weighs about 60 pounds. Blondie is extraordinarily resilient and has a special rescue story, which we encourage you to read at https://www.crossingpathsanimalrescue.org/rescue-stories/blondie-and-her-litter. She was picked up by animal control while nursing her 10 puppies. Such a devoted mother, she nursed the pups while she was just skin and bones. Since coming to rescue, Blondie has grown to a more ideal weight! She was quick to show her foster how smart she is by responding to the commands “sit” and “shake!' She loves walking on leash but will need a strong hand to guide her. Blondie loves all sizes of other dogs; however, we are unsure of how she will respond to cats and children. (ME, 7/11/23)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption Fee/Transport Fee: $250.00  We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.    May 23, 2024, 12:56 pm

Story
Tall Titan, is a strong and remarkable  Warrior, a dog that has fought to be alive and walking  today on this earth.  He has willed himself to come from the depths of pain and starvation to become this handsome boy that you see right now.  He is our Super Hero Pup and our example of a creature that has never given up even when it would have been easier to just go to sleep and never wake up.  When Titan came to a rescue lady’s house that Critter Cavalry knows, this boy was malnourished and just a skeleton of the puppy he should be as a Great Dane.  The lady has a love for the Danes and she asked CCR to please take him into our rescue before she fell in love and couldn’t let him go.  She had enough dogs and just felt the temptation to keep him was too great.  We agreed and soon Titan was ours to raise and get prepped for a new home and family.  Shortly afterwards his foster family noticed he was struggling to walk and his joints were inflamed. Titan was taken to several vets before receiving the diagnosis of  Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD). He has been put on a regimen of medications, high calorie food and hydrotherapy and is now running, jumping and playing with other dogs. His favorite things to do are play with toys, run and nap in the sun. Titan is a large dog and will do best in a home with another large dog or two that he will be able to play with. He will continue to need medication intermittently for some time and to be followed by a veterinarian.  If you have large breed dog experience and are willing to take on this fellas special needs please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue. He is not house trained to hold longer than 4 hours.  He needs to eat separately at mealtimes and he needs to learn better how to play with his toys in a group setting if there are other dogs.  If he is the only dog then there is no special monitoring.  Titan rides like a champ in the car or truck and he is definitely crate trained with good dog/name recall.  He would be easier to watch in the yard if you had a real physical fence installed since he likes to wander off out of curiosity.   Please email Critter Cavalry at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  He is great with young children/boys that are rough and tumble and lots of noise. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 24, 2024, 9:18 am

Story
Laylah is a beautiful pure bred Great Dane that is 129 pounds and 4yrs young.  This girl lost her home because the other female Great Dane was jealous of her and jumping on her to create a fight.  The family could not afford for them to seriously hurt each other. It was best to have Laylah leave the home for her own safety. She is totally vetted and  spayed and is up to date on vaccines.  She came in scared and unsure of everything because of the turmoil she has been experiencing at her home.  After some work and socializing, she has come out of her shell and she loves to be by her person's side and will make a great companion for someone.  She would most likely need to be an only dog since she is still suffering from the fear of being attacked again by another dog.  She does not show fear to all dogs…but some of the larger ones she is defensive at the moment. She hasn't been off leash around cats but seems to not mind them walking by, even appeared playful through the glass with a cat in the cat colony. She has done well meeting new people but gets nervous if her secure shelter person leaves the room.  She shows this by waiting nose to the door until her person comes back. She walks great on a leash and hops right in the car and rides well. She loves to lay on her stuffies and play with her toys, just playing never destroys them. She will carry around the toy in her mouth just to show everyone what she has. In the mornings she gets the pony girl zoomies where she just yeehawws around the yard until she wears out then she is pretty reserved the rest of the day hanging out behind the shelter desk. When too many dogs are going in out it stresses her so she gets put up in an office until things settle down.  She doesn't seem to mind kids and she will greet them gently. Another plus is that she is also housebroken.

Story
LOCAL TN ADOPTION ONLY. The good.....He is kennel trained. Goes in very easily with treats. Will run right in if a treat is thrown in there. Will bark for a few minutes but settles. If he’s in a crate, in a room alone and he hears a lot of commotion, he will bark. If you’ve left and the house is quiet, he’s quiet. He’s great in the kennel if someone is in the same room with him though. He likes being with his people. He happily snoozes in an open kennel during the day if you’re working from home and the kennel is near your work area.Scooby is a goof! There’s not much he takes too seriously. Besides treats. Treats are serious business! He will do just about anything for a treat. Even stuff he really doesn’t want to do. But treats are life. He’s overall an easy dog that is sweet, happy, cuddly and isn’t overly energetic. He loves playing and is a bulldozer but he relaxes and naps a lot too. He doesn’t require mass amounts of exercise. He is more than happy to lounge around in bed and watch tv with his humans. The bad...He snores. It’s not quiet...He hates small dogs, if your neighbor has one he will make it his lifes mission to eradicate it. He is generally good on a leash until aforementioned small dog walks up, then he will happily chill with you while you recover from your rotator cuff repair.
