Story
Florence is the sweetest girl. She is not a typical Great Pyrenees. She does not require land, does not roam, does not bark incessantly. She is welcoming to strangers and loves to be inside. She does need a fenced yard to run around but not huge. She loves people and other dogs. Florence does have a dominant dog personality, so it may be best for her to be an only dog. We have another dominant Great Pyrenees female, and have since learned that is a bad combination as two dominant female Great Pyrenees dogs are known to be impossible companions. If you have another female Great Pyrenees she would not be a good fit. It may be the same issue if you have any breed female dog, I don’t know. She gets upset if the other dog is threatening her food or attention from her people. However, she would never be aggressive toward a human. Her temperament is more like an older golden retriever. Very sweet and happy, playful for short amounts of time, and sleeps a lot.

Story
Meet Callie 🌸 Callie is a tenderhearted puppy with a sweet disposition and an affectionate, people-loving personality. This Great Pyrenees/Poodle mix is full of softness, fluff, and gentle charm. Born on October 11, 2025, Callie shares a remarkable rescue story with her siblings. Her poodle mama was found emaciated on a bridge and brought to safety, where she received the care she desperately needed. Just three weeks later, she surprised everyone by giving birth to three beautiful puppies — Callie being one of them. Callie adores people and does wonderfully with other dogs. She loves crawling into laps for cuddles, relaxing alongside her humans, and then bursting into playful puppy romps when it’s time to frolic and explore. She is expected to grow into a large, fluffy dog, so her forever home should be ready for a big companion with an even bigger heart. Callie has received all age-appropriate vetting and is ready to begin her next chapter with a loving family who understands the needs of a growing, large-breed puppy. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate pup who will grow into a loyal, fluffy best friend, Callie may be the perfect match. 🐾💕 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Meet Lyla 🤍 Lyla is a sweet, gentle girl who can be a bit timid at first but warms up with time. She’s respectful on leash, neutral around other dogs, and does very well around them. She simply prefers calm, respectful dogs who don’t get up in her face. She’s not an “all over the place” dog and truly thrives in quiet, predictable environments. New situations can still spook her, so a slower lifestyle outside of a busy city would be ideal. Lyla is currently on a weight-loss journey, making proper leash walks an important part of her routine. At home, she’s a total couch potato and happiest relaxing in a calm space. She may be shy around new people at first but is very sweet once she feels safe. A quiet home where she has a safe space of her own and a patient, supportive human would be the perfect match. Lyla is looking for peace, consistency, and someone ready to help her grow in confidence, at her own pace. 🤍 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Izzy is 100% sweetie pie, all day every day. This cuddly, curious girl has a heart of gold and absolutely no concept of personal space… or her own size. She’s happiest when she’s glued to her favorite humans, following them around, or flopping into their lap like she’s a 10-pound puppy. With her playful spirit, gentle nature, and permanently clueless expression, Izzy brings joy, laughter, and lots of love to everyone she meets. She’s ready to brighten someone’s life with her goofy charm and endless snuggles!

Story
Yuki is a 3 year old 86 pound Great Pyrenees! He is being fostered in Huntsville,AL and is available for transport and the approved adopter will be responsible for the transport fee. Yuki was primarily raised as an indoor pup without other pup playmates, so exhibits some stress when alone. He has loved being at his foster’s with a big yard and other dogs to play with. He does well with dogs of all sizes and has quickly realized and become sensitive to the fact that he is too large for some of his 20 lb playmates, which is really good. He has become pretty gentle in his few weeks at his fosters, primarily because he gets a lot of outdoor play time. He does need a pup playmate close to his size that provides him a since of security. He has been diagnosed with a seizure issue and takes daily medication, levetirace, for it. His foster is still learning about him, but so far, he is just a great happy boy. If you are interested in adopting Yuki please fill out an application on our website forrescue.net. He is being fostered in Huntsville, AL.
