Who can open their heart and home to Misty? Misty is an 8 yr old 68 lb great pyr/lab mix and through no fault of her own, the only family she has known since she was a puppy can no longer care for her. We need to find her a foster/foster to adopt home as soon as possible. Misty does great with cats and with other dogs. She is 8 so she would appreciate a dog who respects her space and would be content to just be there (vs one who wants to play all the time). Misty would love a nice yard or patio to lay around in when it is nice, and to be your couch or dog bed buddy when it is too cold and you just want to curl up and watch TV She is spayed, microchipped, and healthy! She is housebroken and has very good manners If you can open your heart and home this season please consider Misty.. You can foster her for a few weeks to make sure it is a good fit. A Heart as Big as His Paws Arlo is a gentle, loving, affectionate, 1 ½ -2 year old, 55 pound, Great Pyrenees mix with a heart as big as his paws. After surviving serious neglect, he’s now blossoming into a gorgeous, playful dog who loves to run, explore, and play fetch. Squeaky and crinkle toys are his favorite—he’ll happily chase them, toss them around, or quietly chew on one while resting beside you. He thrives on being around people and loves to stay close, whether you're working around the house or relaxing on the couch. Arlo would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can run safely and freely. Because of his size and energy, he’s best suited for a home with children over 8. He is an incredibly loyal, loving addition to the right home. This sweet boy craves your companionship. He’s shown a strong interest in playing with the resident cats in his foster home, although they haven’t returned the enthusiasm. While his interactions with other dogs haven’t been directly tested, he seems eager to engage with other animals and would likely enjoy a home where he isn’t the only pet, or where he gets plenty of quality time with his people. Arlo is both housebroken and kennel trained. His cue to go outside is subtle. He’ll quietly wait by the door, so you do have to pay close attention, but he’s very reliable when given regular opportunities. While he’s already well-mannered, Arlo would benefit from formal training classes to help him build confidence and improve his obedience skills. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, tested for diseases, provided treatment for skin conditions, dewormed, neutered, and microchipped. Dexter is a handsome young Great Pyrenees mix who came to us as an owner surrender when his family's landlord wouldn't allow dogs and they no longer had the time to take care of him. Now this big sweetheart is ready for a new beginning and a family who loves him for his joyful spirit! Dexter is incredibly friendly with people of all ages, but due to his larger size and enthusiastic greetings, we recommend a home with older kids who won't be easily toppled by a happy tail wag and a full-body wiggle. In his previous home, Dexter loved visiting the dog park. He enjoys running around in the yard, going for walks, and soaking up as many belly rubs as he can get. If you're looking for a loyal, playful, affectionate companion who's ready for fun, Dexter is your guy!

Story

Jack is a loveable guy. He sometimes thinks he is a lap dog. Jack is great with older kids and gentle people. Unfortunately, he is reactive to other dogs and babies/small children when in close proximity. He is pretty good at ignoring them if they ignore him. He loves to play outside, he loves to run, and he loves being loved. Jack is pretty good on a leash and knows some basic commands. Due to our small living space, limited yard, and the neighbor aggressive dog, we have made the painful decision to rehome him. This other dog is the reason Jack is scared, as the other dog got loose and attacked Jack three different occasions within a 6 week time span during when Jack was 1. He lost half an ear from these attacks. This is also a huge reason why we have found it difficult to find a groomer that can tend to his needs appropriately and within budget. Please know we love Jack and want him to be able to thrive in a better environment. One that we arent able to provide now.
