Story
Meet cuddly Mario. He is a brown, dusted with black, and white Great Pyrenees mix born 12/25/2022. He is going to be big! He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and has been given a ProHeart 6 for heartworm protection. His adoption donation is $450.00 and the transport fee $165.00. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Snowy Noel had been sighted for a couple of weeks around Christmas hanging out in a remote wooded area, occasionally standing in the middle of that lonesome 4 way stop where she was presumably dropped off to fend for herself. People noticed and posted about her, occasionally leaving her some leftover fast food, but nobody wanted to take her in. Her foster Mom put the time in, kept driving by the spot where she had been seen and finally one morning saw her standing on the side of the road. Noel was skittish and shy, but very hungry, so she proceeded to eat the can of food that was set out for her. A leash was gingerly looped around her neck and chaos ensued! Noel had never been on a leash before and was not having any part of this one. She was finally wrangled into the car and after a few minutes, she let herself relax. By the end of the ride to her new foster home, she was calm and accepting of touches. This gentle giant only weighted 57 lbs upon intake, basically skin and bones for a girl her size. She has quickly adapted to life in a home. She gets along with dogs, cats, females and males and now has a pep to her step and enjoys lounging in the sunroom. She has lots of love to give, has a regal bearing, and will make a wonderful companion. We would suggest a fenced yard as this breed is prone to wandering.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Has a spay scheduled with Timberview Veterinary in Dillsburg onMeet Delilah, a beautiful Great Pyrenees Mama of 12 that is now ready to find a family of her own.  She requires a family willing to walk her on a leash and/or a very secure fenced in area, as her drive to wander off comes natural to her like the Pyrenees breed.   She now loves playing with other dogs, lying on the couch, toys, snuggles and giving and getting love from her Foster family.  She will need a home willing to continue patiently sharing these with her as she came to us as a very timid Mama of 12.  She loves the colder weather, snow and being outside.  She is not super active as is the Pyrenees nature, but time outside especially in the cooler weather makes her very happy.  Once she fills out she will be about 85lbs.  She is in love with her Foster's 4 yr old daughter and will do well with kids that are gentle and understand that she needs them to quiet and respectful of her.  She will thrive in the right environment and be an awesome addition to the family. She is HW positive and has begun her treatment and is scheduled for spay in February.  Her treatments will be explained in depth to all potential adopters and is paid for by Homeward Bound as long as she is taken to our Vet in Dillsburg, PA.   If you have an approved application and are interested in more information or possibly adopting Delilah, please reach out to her Foster Mom at thatsme963@aol.com Applications can be completed on our website:  HtTPS://homewardbound2u.rescuegroups.org Homeward Bound Animal Rescue is licensed and inspected by the PA Dept of Dog Law. Story
**Must have an approved application to meet** Meet Tyberious! This handsome, nine-month-old pup came to us in November 2023 and is looking for a patient home that will continue teaching him that the world and new people are not so scary! There is reason to believe that Tyberious was not treated the kindest in his previous home and will need to go into a home where only positive reinforcement training is used and where the people in his home can provide a structured environment for him to continue building his confidence. In his time with us, Tyberious has been very neutral and curious about other animals. He pays no mind to the other dogs in the kennel and has been friendly with with the office cats he has met! He is a very smart and food-motivated dog and has made a lot of progress even with his basic training since coming to us. Ty currently knows 'sit' ,'down', 'off' and is working on 'leave it' and his leash manners. There is nothing he is not willing to work on as long as he is given a treat in return! Tyberious is an extremely goofy pup once he gets comfortable with you! He is an absolute cuddle bug once he has bonded with you and wants nothing more than to snuggle He is always ready to play a game of tug whether he is lounging around with you inside or hanging around outside. Tyberious loves exploring the outdoors and going on car rides as long as he has someone there to reassure him that everything is fine. He gravitates more toward the women he has met but with patience (and treats!) does warm up to men as long as he is provided the time to get to know them. Once he has all that puppy energy out, Tyberious settles well and enjoys having a chew or Kong to entertain himself with. Squeaky toys and stuffed toys are his absolute favorite to play with and he will keep himself endlessly entertained by tossing them around or playing fetch. All this big boy wants to do is find a home where he can grow into the wonderful dog staff knows him to be! If you are interested in visiting Tyberious and have an approved application, feel free to contact us about more information or a time to meet. Applications can be submitted online or in person here at the shelter if you have yet to have an application submitted. Feel free to share so we are able to find Tyberious a home best suited for this handsome boy!
