I recently had ear canal surgery in one of my ears, so you will gave to speak clearly when telling me what a handsome boy I am. I am potty trained and kennel trained and love to nap all day. I can sit and am working on shake, but if you share your snacks, I am a fast learner.I love my people and will be a great companion. I prefer not to share food or toys, so I will need to be the Lone Ranger in your home. I’m about 6 years old and weigh 70 pounds, I’m basically a big couch potato. Beau will soon be 4 years old. We took him in a year ago when his original family had to relocate to Hawaii and couldn’t take him. At the time we did not realize that our grandsons were allergic to his fur and will break out in rashes. He is such a loving dog and loves to protect his family and yard with his voice. He has never caused harm to anyone or anything, he just needs a much bigger space to roam and protect like a country home or farm. You must have a fenced yard so he can run around. Oh…and we are not asking for any money, just love for the big boy.

Bean is four years old, weighs 136 pounds, and has been with us since March 2023, when our daughter began serving in the Navy. Bean is very loyal, loves going for walks, and lounging in the back yard. He loves snuggles and tummy rubs - really any kind of affection will do. He is not a big chewer, unless it's a bone or food. He is very much house broken. Bean is a celebrity in our neighborhood. We are often stopped by neighbors who ask what kind of dog he is, and they always comment how beautiful he is. He loves to visit with people in our neighborhood - both children and adults - and is very friendly. Bean is not kennel trained. He does tend to bark when visitors approach or enter the house, but is not aggressive. He prefers not to be alone too much, so a home that has people around most of the time is best.

Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! And speaking of fur, well, you know I am a Great Pyrenees and we SHED great amounts, so you must love me more than my hair!!! Meet Duke! Duke was a sad stray found wandering a rural neighborhood in the 105 degree weather of July... Duke had very little fur so was sunburned and so skinny he barely had strength to walk. But let us tell you, he recovered very quickly! He loves other dogs and has so much fuzzy hair, he is one handsome dude! And he is a little silly and happy and just ready for his furever home! He wags his tail (ok, his whole body) is glad to see us and happy to play with other dogs- big and small :) Duke is ready for the home he longed for while he was starved and uncared for, you must be the best family ever!!
