Story
Smidge is a very happy, smart little girl. She came to us when she was 12 weeks old from living outside with no shelter and no human contact. She had no idea what it was like to be held or pet or loved by a human! Since she has been in her foster home, she has blossomed into a loving, sweet and friendly girl. Now, her favorite place to be is with her people! She loves to sit with her foster family and accepts getting pets, and especially loves belly rubs! She is already housebroken (when kept on a schedule); she walks on her leash, and responds fairly well to some basic commands. She is even great in her crate at night and never cries or barks. Smidge will benefit with continued training, she is very smart and we know she will catch on quickly to so many new things. Someone home during the day would be best for her as she still needs a lot of socialization to continue the progress she has already made bonding with humans. Smidge gets along great with other dogs and would benefit with another young and well trained dog in the home. She loves to play and running is her favorite pastime, a fenced yard would be best for her so she and her fur friend(s) can play together. Smidge is just a beautiful, smart puppy with so much love to give. She has overcome so many fears in such a short time; she is going to be a loyal and loving best friend! Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! And speaking of fur, well, you know I am a Great Pyrenees and we SHED great amounts, so you must love me more than my hair!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Mummy is an absolute goofball! She is incredibly playful and keeps me laughing non-stop! She will also stay outside with Blade all day long if you'd let her. They are both very stubborn, but she definitely wins if it's a competition we are working on our listening skills. She is house trained and we are working on basic commands, she knows how to sit- but only if she feels like it. She is also a natural guard dog, but mixed with some nervous/anxious energy. She barks A LOT and it takes some work to get her calmed down. She has some resource guarding issues when around other dogs, but not Blade or my cats. Food, toys and myself are off limits to anyone else besides "us". We are working on this and interacting with other dogs. She follows Blades lead on most things, and is attached at the hip with him. She needs walks and enrichment to succeed!!! We are going on 3-4 walks a day, and if she doesn't get that time to explore and exercise it shows in her behavior. She will chew things around the house out of boredom if she doesn't get that time in, otherwise she is great! She is also fantastic with my cats and loves people, children do seem to make her a bit nervous though (she is not aggressive at all just runs away if they are too fast or noisy). I can't see her being separated from Blade! They truly are partners

Blade is such a good guy! He is house trained and we are working on basic commands, so far he's got sit pretty well. He LOVES to be outside and would prefer to lay in the backyard for as long as possible (rain or shine) and it can take some work to get him to come in. We've been going on 3-4 walks a day to burn off some energy and this seems to be the best way for him. He is a guard dog by nature and loves to bark and keep his home safe. I have 3 cats and he is SO good with them. He is such a gentle boy! He absolutely loves all people and children. We are working on being friendly with other dogs besides Mummy (Male dogs have been questionable). He is so attached to Mummy and they do absolutely everything together and it's adorable.

Story
WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Harley - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Harley and it comes from the Old English origin meaning 'Hare Meadow', which represents a peaceful and serene image. Just nothing like seeing a Pyr laying in the yard watching! Unfortunately my elderly owner is not able to care for me any longer but I'm trying not to let it get me down as I look for another family to adopt. Did you know that I came from royalty? The Pyrenees breed came from France where we made our way up from being a peasant farmers dog to the royal court being named the royal dog of France in 1675. Even Queen Victoria had a Pyr. We are strong willed and can sometimes be stubborn but more importantly we are affectionate, patient, confident, fearless and gentle. It is said that we wouldn't make a good breed for first timers but if you're aware of the negative traits (sometimes stubborn & lots of hair) along with the awesome good traits, we could definitely make it work. As a youngster at only around a year and a half old, I do have some basic obedience training, am well mannered, I don't jump up unless invited and have a sweet, loving warm nature that just adores getting 'good boys' from my people. I am a big boy of snowy white fluff. I will need several weekly brushings to keep my royal self tangle free and looking dapper and the vacuum will be an extension of your arm with me around but the reward of my adoring love for you will sooooo be worth it!! A couple of daily 45 minute walks a day should be enough to keep me happy. With that daily exercise in I can do quite well in town with a yard or in the country. I fall into the 3 G category which is Gorgeous, Gentle and Giant. Instinctively nurturing with the flock or family, we do make great family members. Just make sure the couch is big enough for sharing!!! My breed tend to love being with the family and are content to lay at or on your feet or curled up with you on that big enough couch. I'm here to adopt me a family and since you're reading this you must being missing something special in your life too, could it possibly be...ME?!!
