Story
Hi my name is Duke and I am 4 years old. I am a Great Pyrenees/German Shephard mix. I am a very lovely dog who is very protective of my owners. Unfortunely I am not good with other dogs and or children. I love cuddles and having someone full attention. My favorite thing to do is to be outside and run in the backyard. We are looking for him to go to a good home. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Story
A Great Pyrenees mix, George came to rescue after being found on the side of the road in rural Missouri with his brother Lennie. George is happy, playful and vocal. He talks to you when he wants something or gets excited. A charmer, George sits pretty waiting for food or attention. He likes to chew on carrots, ice cubes, and the occasional shoe. Among George's favorite things are chew toys, being outside, laying in the dirt. He will alert you to loud vehicles that drive by. An active puppy, George likes playing with his brother, our foster pup Zita, and the resident dogs in his foster home. He tends to chase cats so we think he needs a feline free home. George loves every human he meets and sometimes gets so excited he jumps up. Ornery and independent, George is potty trained, however he is not yet a fan of the crate and will let you know. *Being fostered in Independence, MO* George is up to date on vaccines, up to date on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and microchipped. George will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract with adopter promising to spay/neuter at a later date, and must show proof at that time. Adoption Requirements: A secure and visible fence. In order for your application to be approved, you must pass a home check and a vet check which includes having at least a two year vet history. Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to transport to those states.

Story
We rescued Roscoe from euthanasia when he was surrendered to a Kansas shelter by his owners. After being at the shelter for 2 months Roscoe found himself on the euthansia list due to lack of space. His owners did not fill out any paperwork on Roscoe so not much was known about his history. What we do know is during his time at the shelter all the volunteers fell in love with him! Roscoe is one of our six sanctuary dogs. He has been with us in rescue since 2021. Roscoe has been in his foster home for such a long time now that we feel he would not do well transitioning to a new home. So we will continue to love and care for him in rescue. We appreciate donations towards his food/treats, monthly preventatives, and routines vet care. Hi my name is Roscoe. I'm not sure what mixed breed I am but I'm a giant love bug and weigh in at 100 lbs. I'm tall with a long, lean body and maybe I have some Anatolian Shepherd in me. I love attention from my people, especially being petted and getting belly rubs. You might even call me a velcro dog. When my foster dad gets home, I happily greet him. Still playful at my age, when I get excited I spin around. I enjoy being outside and like to go for walks. When we first set out on a walk I pull a little and I'm a little nervous around cars. I enjoy the companionship of other dogs, but I'm not sure about cats. Because I have some chronic inflammation in my knees, I take a daily anti inflammatory and joint supplement. I am up to date on vaccines, up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. Requirements for adoption: A secure, visible fence. Applicants must pass a home check and a vet check which includes having at least a two year vet history. Roscoe can be adopted in Missouri and surrounding states: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Arkansas.

Story
Leo is one of our six sanctuary dogs. We rescued him in July 2020. Leo has been with us for such a long time that we feel he would not do well transitioning to a new home. So we will continue to love and care for Leo in rescue. We appreciate donations towards his food/treats, monthly preventatives, and routine vet care. My name is Leo. Don't you just love my beautiful golden mane and my amber eyes? I came into rescue after a Kansas Humane Society adopted me out twice but I was returned both times. My adopters didn't pay enough attention to me so I kept escaping my yard and went looking for friends. I'm a pretty chill guy and like being petted, but I'm not in your face about it. If you scratch my neck I will close my eyes and lean on you. I am very gentle with my Pyr Paw. Sometimes I even put up two paws and I almost fall over backwards in the process! I LOVE being outside observing my surroundings and am happy in a rural setting with a large yard to watch over. I'm house trained, like to go for walks, and like to play in the water. I am treat motivated and will sit for treats. My foster dad says I'm dog friendly but also like getting all the attention when other dogs aren't around. I was introduced to cats at the vets office and I paid them no mind. I am microchipped, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Our Adoption Requirements: A secure and visible fence. In order for your application to be approved, you must pass a home check and a vet check which includes having at least a two year vet history. Our adoptable dogs can be adopted in Missouri and surrounding states: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to transport to those states.

Story
Lennie came to rescue after being found on the side of the road in rural Missouri with his brother George. A Great Pyrenees mix, Lennie is a chill guy. In fact he is so chill that one of his absolute favorite activities is napping. Lennie has many napping spots which include: the couch, big dog beds, the air conditioning vent, and outside. He even naps on car rides! When he's not napping, he enjoys playing with his brother and the other dogs in his foster home. He hasn't shown much interest in cats. A happy boy, Lennie loves every human he meets and sometimes gets so excited he jumps up. A puppy after all, Lennie is not lacking in puppy antics. He likes to chew on carrots, ice cubes, sticks, and apparently favors the right shoe over the left as he recently chewed up two right shoes! Lennie also enjoys being outside and barking at loud trucks and delivery vehicles that drive by. Lennie still has some growing to do and maybe just maybe he'll grow into those Dobby ears we loves so much. Pretty independent, Lennie is potty trained, however he is not yet a fan of the crate and will let you know. *Being fostered in Independence, MO* Lennie is up to date on vaccines, up to date on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and microchipped. Lennie will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract with adopter promising to spay/neuter at a later date, and must show proof at that time. Adoption Requirements: A secure and visible fence.
