Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Max is a big mush who will brighten your life with his smiles and big paws. He's a sweet guy who's eager to please. With medium energy, he enjoys a day full of attention from his people, and many naps. He’s good with female dogs - he’d adore having a lady Pyr in his furever home! He knows "sit" and is more than willing to do so at your command - just watch his videos! Max is a very smart pup and a little training will go a long way to making him the perfect Pyr companion. Max is housebroken and learning to walk on leash. This pup is good-natured and happy to oblige your commands, but having treats on hand will make him sit faster. He prefers to be inside, and is a cuddle-bug who will hang on your every word. He’s a breeze to groom, as he loves being brushed (it’s just more attention, after all!). Max’s ideal home will be in a quieter setting, have a 6-foot fence, a female Pyr to pal around with, and strong, loving leadership from people who are experienced in working with large, intelligent breeds - he needs a dog/Pyr-savvy human to provide him structure and routine. Fill out our online application below if you'd like us to arrange a meeting with Max! NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Max in CT  Age: 3 yrs old 11 mos old as of January 2026   Color: White with tan markings  Dew Claws: Yes, Single  Estimated Adult Weight: 100 lbs Current Location: NGPR approved boarding in Bethlehem, CT  Medical: Neutered, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. Housebroken: Yes  Can Be Placed With: Female Dogs Fencing: Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed. Fees: Adoption fees are determined on a sliding scale depending on age, location and transport. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. Fees for dogs adopted locally start at $400 and can range up to $700 for puppies under six months. Puppies placed on spay/neuter contracts receive $100 back when the dog is spayed or neutered. Fees for senior dogs (7 or older) and foster dogs will be adjusted accordingly. More Information: Questions? The fastest way to learn more about a dog is to fill out our Adoption Application. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.  January 6, 2026, 1:34 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Jose, a magnificent Great Pyrenees gentleman who's ready to find his perfect home! This gentle giant is currently staying in boarding while he waits for a foster or forever family to fall in love with him. Jose was picked up as a stray and came to us already neutered, and we've quickly discovered what a calm, easy-going, and genuinely nice boy he is. His extremely fine, fluffy fur is absolutely gorgeous and begs to be petted! Jose walks well on leash and gets along with both dogs and cats, making him a flexible addition to many households. While his housebroken status and experience with children are unknown due to his time in boarding, this sweet boy has shown us he's an indoor dog at heart who just wants to be with his people. He'll need a home with at least a 5-foot fence where he can enjoy some outdoor time while spending most of his days lounging inside with his loved ones. If you're looking for a mellow, friendly companion who'll bring warmth, fluff, and joy into your home, Jose could be just the pup for you! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Snowman, a fluffy white Pyr boy whose sunny disposition will melt your heart faster than a snowflake on a warm day! This gentle giant was found wandering along the highway with his brother, and though their original owner was located, they were surrendered because these adventurous boys just wouldn't stay put at home. Now Snowman is currently in boarding, dreaming of a foster or forever home where he can finally settle down and spread his winter joy. Despite his wandering past, he's pretty good on leash and would do well with a 5-foot fence to keep him safely in his new kingdom. Snowman is an absolute sweetheart with people—his tail is always wagging like a happy snow flurry, and while he might be a touch shy when meeting new friends at first, he warms up beautifully. He's wonderful with other dogs, remarkably gentle with cats (giving them curious sniffs with his cold nose), and would be great with older kids who can appreciate his sweet, loving nature. This good boy adores pets and attention, and when he's not soaking up affection, you'll find him contentedly watching the birds as they fly the skies. His housebreaking status is unknown since he's been in boarding, but with those sweet manners and eagerness to please, Snowman is ready to be the perfect addition to a loving home that can give him the stability and warmth he so craves! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Snowball is a senior Pyr who embodies the perfect blend of majestic grace and sweet companionship that makes this breed so beloved. She has a wonderfully mellow temperament - she's equally content joining you for leisurely walks as she is lounging peacefully in the same room while you work, read, or watch television. When the mood strikes for outdoor time, Snowball loves nothing more than strolling around the yard before settling into a shady spot to observe her surroundings with the calm dignity befitting her guardian breed heritage. Already housebroken and crate trained, Snowball walks well on leash, and she's impressively well-mannered with a repertoire that includes sit, kennel, coming when called, and understanding meal times and outdoor cues. Being food motivated makes her a joy to train, and she's currently working on mastering stay, wait, and stop commands. Her foster mom describes her as incredibly sweet and affectionate, delighting in head pets, ear scratches, and brushing sessions, often doing a charming little wiggle dance when it's time for meals. Snowball gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes in her foster home and would thrive with a canine companion to play with and keep her company. She doesn’t dig and is content with a 5-foot fence, showing no interest in escape attempts, preferring to chase the occasional squirrel or bunny in the safety of her own yard. Snowball would flourish in a calm, patient home with a female human who can provide consistent love and attention. She's looking for someone special who will cherish her golden years and help her discover just how wonderful life can be when you're truly loved and wanted. NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Snowball in NY  Age: 8 yrs 7 mos old as of January 2026  Color: White with tan and golden markings  Dew Claws: Yes, Double  Estimated Adult Weight: 85 lbs  Current Location: NGPR approved foster in North Tonawanda, NY  Medical: Spayed, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Eaton is a lovable Great Pyrenees boy who’s ready to find his furever home! This gentle giant came to rescue from Tennessee after being found wandering as a stray, and he's been winning hearts ever since with his affectionate personality and gloriously soft fur. Eaton is wonderfully well-rounded—he's fully house-trained, kennel-trained, walks well on leash, knows "sit," and is a perfect gentleman indoors. While he enjoys moderate activity and will happily romp in the yard with doggy friends, he's mostly a laid-back fellow who loves leisurely strolls and plenty of nap time. You'll often find this charming boy snoozing in doorways or right where you're standing, just to stay close to his favorite humans! With other dogs, Eaton is absolutely delightful! He gets along beautifully with canines of all sizes and greets potential playmates with an adorable play bow and happy dancing paws. When strangers arrive, he may bark initially but warms up quickly. He's happiest as an indoor dog who can shadow his people everywhere, though he needs a secure yard with at least a five-foot fence—fair warning, he's proven himself quite the escape artist! Eaton is easy-going about grooming and car rides, and has a fondness for chew toys and bones. This devoted boy would thrive with another dog companion in his forever home. He adores head scratches, gentle words of affection, and simply being near the people he loves. With his combination of loyalty, sweetness, and adaptability, Eaton is ready to become someone's faithful shadow and beloved companion for life!
