Isla is eager to learn, active, knows a few basic commands and loves to herd her people. Isla needs an active couple who is aware of the temperament that comes with her breed. She would do best with an adult only home who will keep her active.

Story
Nola is beautiful white angel that is a young 1 year old that only weighs 70 pounds. This Great Pyrenees mix girl is totally healthy and has the biggest brown eyes and a wonderfully calm personality.  Easy going comes to mind as we watch this girl move through the farm yard at her foster home.  She was found at an Alabama gas station where people who worked there said she had been begging for food in the parking area for 3 days.   Foster mom Cissie, brought her home to her small farm and did social media and advertising on Lost and found sites.  The owner contacted Cissie but said he did not want her back, so this girl immediately became a Critter Cavalry Rescue girl.  She fit in immediately with all of Cissie’s dogs and there are quite a few too!  Nola most enjoys long walks on the farm and romping and playing with everyone there! She is curious of the cat but doesn’t bother him and Nola is good with the horses and donkeys,  but does bark at the pig.  Nola is good on a leash and in the house with kids and dogs.  Her favorite things are getting hugs and going for car rides!!!!   This gentle soul is ready for a lifetime commitment from someone with fenced containment and time, love and attention to give her.  She must be an inside and outside dog.   We do not want her to live outside as only a working dog.  If you are interested please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com \PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 6, 2023, 6:56 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) NEEDS FOSTER HOMES Your help is needed to save dogs' lives. National Pyr (NGPR) is a coalition of rescuers that rescues Pyrs and Pyr mixes from Southern kill shelters where these large breed dogs last only a few days. After dogs are pulled from shelters, they are assessed, vetted, spayed or neutered and quarantined for two weeks or more before going to a foster home. There are not enough foster homes in the places the dogs come from so dogs are transported to foster families around the country where they can live in a home environment and interact with kids, cats, people and other dogs. Every dog that goes into foster home allows us to pull another dog from a shelter. Please go to National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) to learn more about the breed. Then if you are interested, please read about fostering, then fill out our volunteer application if you can help and we will get back to you shortly. We thank you and our beloved Pyrs thank you too. If you can't foster or adopt at this time, please consider helping our Neediest Cases or making a tax-exempt donation by visiting our Donate page.  June 6, 2023, 4:22 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. You can see more beautiful dogs by visiting our Adoptable Dogs page. This big handsome boy is Frosty and he is a gem! Frosty is a sweet boy, good with other dogs and cats, too. He really likes people and is a really friendly guy. Frosty came into rescue after he was found injured lying under someone’s porch and went unclaimed. He had some very deep puncture wounds but he has been treated at the vets office and he is healing up nicely now. They appeared to be bite marks but thankfully he is on the mend. Frosty walks well on leash and he is a bouncy happy guy - always happy to see his human or dog pals :) He would love a great home of his own and a family to love him. Frosty may have had a rough start but he has turned out to be such a great dog. He is currently in boarding sure could use a home or foster home to go to. We just love this big happy boy and so will you. We are not sure what his life was like before he came to rescue. Not sure if he lived indoors or out but he adores people so he should do just fine with a kind family to teach him all he needs to know. Please consider making this big happy boy a part of your family!  NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Frosty in TN Age: est 5 yrs 4 mo old as of May 2023 Color: All white fluffy coat Dew Claws: yes double Estimated Adult Weight: 100+ pounds Current Location: NGPR approved boarding in Lebanon, TN Medical: Neutered, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. This dog travels with a Interstate Health Certificate required by the USDA confirming that all the above criteria have been met. Housebroken: unsure but he is neat in his kennel Can be Placed With: Kids, Cats, Other Dogs Fencing: Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed. Fees: Adoption fees are determined on a sliding scale depending on age, location and transport.  Fees for dogs adopted locally start at $400 and can range up to $700 for puppies under six months. Puppies placed on spay/neuter contracts receive $100 back when the dog is spayed or neutered. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. Fees for senior dogs (7 or older) and foster dogs will be adjusted accordingly.. NYS Registered Rescue # RR102 Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. If you can't foster or adopt at this time, please consider helping our Neediest Cases or making a tax-exempt donation by visiting our Donate page. Please complete the adoption application and visit nationalpyr.org to learn more about Pyrs and our adoption process. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. We are a non-profit, tax-exempt rescue who has been rescuing the breed for 15 years.  Visit nationalpyr.org to learn more about us, our mission and our breed. More Information: Questions? The fastest way to learn more about a dog is to fill out our online application. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply.  We have many Pyrs and Pyr mixes who need homes and not all of them are posted. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ivy is looking for a special family. Not just any family- a VERY special family that will understand she’s had a difficult and scary life. Ivy was rescued from a puppy mill. She arrived at NGPR very unfamiliar with human interaction and scared of almost everything. Despite her fears, she is a very sweet girl. She is making progress but has a long way to go. Ivy prefers to be indoors, where she knows she is safe. Once she is comfortable, she'll lay with her humans for short periods of time, but her new family will need to be very patient and give her lots of time to adjust. As a result of Ivy’s fears, house training had taken awhile but she is now doing well. Her new family will need to help her understand that she is safe going to the bathroom outside. Ivy seems more comfortable going outside at night than during the day as she is fearful of daylight. She is good on a leash but is too nervous to go out for walks in the neighborhood or to meet people. Ivy doesn’t have any basic obedience training. Due to her anxiety, bad behavior hasn’t really been an issue as she doesn’t venture anywhere she could get in trouble. Ivy’s perfect home is a quiet home, perhaps out in the country, as loud neighborhood noises make her very scared. Ivy would benefit from another confident dog to help her feel more secure and show her the world is not so scary. She's looking for a family that doesn’t need immediate love and affection from their dog, but Ivy will thank you for your endless patience in different ways. Watching her very slowly come out of her shell will be the best reward for her new people who have experience working with traumatized dogs. We understand that a dog like Ivy is not for everyone, this special girl requires a special place to live. We know the perfect family is out there for her. If you have a quiet home filled with patient, understanding and loving humans--well then maybe it’s the pyrfect retreat for sweet Ivy.
