Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Snowman, a fluffy white Pyr boy whose sunny disposition will melt your heart faster than a snowflake on a warm day! This gentle giant was found wandering along the highway with his brother, and though their original owner was located, they were surrendered because these adventurous boys just wouldn't stay put at home. Now Snowman is currently in boarding, dreaming of a foster or forever home where he can finally settle down and spread his winter joy. Despite his wandering past, he's pretty good on leash and would do well with a 5-foot fence to keep him safely in his new kingdom. Snowman is an absolute sweetheart with people—his tail is always wagging like a happy snow flurry, and while he might be a touch shy when meeting new friends at first, he warms up beautifully. He's wonderful with other dogs, remarkably gentle with cats (giving them curious sniffs with his cold nose), and would be great with older kids who can appreciate his sweet, loving nature. This good boy adores pets and attention, and when he's not soaking up affection, you'll find him contentedly watching the birds as they fly the skies. His housebreaking status is unknown since he's been in boarding, but with those sweet manners and eagerness to please, Snowman is ready to be the perfect addition to a loving home that can give him the stability and warmth he so craves! NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Snowman in TN  Age: 3 yrs 2 mos old as of January 2026  Color: White with tan markings  Dew Claws: Yes, Double  Estimated Adult Weight: 90 - 100 lbs - best guess Current Location: NGPR approved boarding in Lebanon, TN  Medical: Neutered, dewormed, heartworm status is pending, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. This dog travels with an Interstate Health Certificate required by the USDA confirming that all the above criteria have been met. Housebroken: Unknown  Can Be Placed With: Dogs, Cats, Older Kids  Fencing: Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed. Fees: Adoption fees are determined on a sliding scale depending on age, location and transport. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. Fees for dogs adopted locally start at $400 and can range up to $700 for puppies under six months. Puppies placed on spay/neuter contracts receive $100 back when the dog is spayed or neutered. Fees for senior dogs (7 or older) and foster dogs will be adjusted accordingly. More Information: Questions? The fastest way to learn more about a dog is to fill out our Adoption Application. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. January 6, 2026, 1:55 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Snowball is a senior Pyr who embodies the perfect blend of majestic grace and sweet companionship that makes this breed so beloved. She has a wonderfully mellow temperament - she's equally content joining you for leisurely walks as she is lounging peacefully in the same room while you work, read, or watch television. When the mood strikes for outdoor time, Snowball loves nothing more than strolling around the yard before settling into a shady spot to observe her surroundings with the calm dignity befitting her guardian breed heritage. Already housebroken and crate trained, Snowball walks well on leash, and she's impressively well-mannered with a repertoire that includes sit, kennel, coming when called, and understanding meal times and outdoor cues. Being food motivated makes her a joy to train, and she's currently working on mastering stay, wait, and stop commands. Her foster mom describes her as incredibly sweet and affectionate, delighting in head pets, ear scratches, and brushing sessions, often doing a charming little wiggle dance when it's time for meals. Snowball gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes in her foster home and would thrive with a canine companion to play with and keep her company. She doesn’t dig and is content with a 5-foot fence, showing no interest in escape attempts, preferring to chase the occasional squirrel or bunny in the safety of her own yard. Snowball would flourish in a calm, patient home with a female human who can provide consistent love and attention. She's looking for someone special who will cherish her golden years and help her discover just how wonderful life can be when you're truly loved and wanted. NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Snowball in NY  Age: 8 yrs 7 mos old as of January 2026  Color: White with tan and golden markings  Dew Claws: Yes, Double  Estimated Adult Weight: 85 lbs  Current Location: NGPR approved foster in North Tonawanda, NY  Medical: Spayed, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Snow Bear is a big, fluffy love-bug with a heart as soft as his fur. Despite a very difficult start to his life, Snow Bear has endured and retained his sweet spirit. He is currently in boarding, so he would love either a foster or furever home. He’s happiest lounging in the sunshine, getting brushed, and hanging out with his dog friends. While he enjoys attention, he’s a laid-back guy who’s also perfectly content to hang out in your vicinity with the occasional ear rub. He’s a bit of an independent spirit—he knows what “no” means (especially when digging holes), but listening…? - As for all Great Pyrs, that’s optional! Snow Bear walks well on a leash but prefers to take care of business off-leash in his own time. His perfect home would include a 5’ fenced yard, a patient and kind pyrent or two, possibly a canine friend to pal around with, and a comfy spot outside to soak up the sun. His overall gentle nature indicates he’d likely do well in a calm, loving environment for his forever home. Does Snow Bear sound like just the missing piece for your family? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ted, best known as Teddy, is a wonderfully affectionate Great Pyrenees who embodies the phrase "lover boy" in every sense. This silly, lovable gentleman is completely housebroken and enjoys a medium activity level, making him a delightful companion for the right home. Teddy is currently working on his crate training and leash walking skills and will need a secure 6-foot fence to keep him safe. What makes Teddy truly special is his enormous heart—he views every person he meets as an instant friend, whether it's children (with whom he's fantastic), adults, or even complete strangers. He has zero interest in cats and is friendly with all female dogs. He requires another dog in the home, preferably a dominant female, who can provide him companionship and structure. Teddy’s greatest need is simple: he wants to be with his people. This velcro dog experiences separation and confinement anxiety when left alone, which means he thrives best in a quiet home with someone who works from home or can take him along on car rides. And if his humans have to leave the home, he’d be content making friends with the doggie sitter! He's happiest sleeping in bed with his humans and following them from room to room throughout the day. While he does whine and will bark to come back inside, he's otherwise quite quiet and doesn't dig. Teddy prefers being indoors and is motivated entirely by attention and affection rather than treats—though he does enjoy soft boiled eggs, chicken feet, and cheese as special favorites. His ideal forever home would include patient people who understand his need for constant companionship, has a large female Pyr already, and is committed to continuing his training journey. If you have the time, love, and canine companion that Teddy needs, this sweet lap dog will reward you with unwavering devotion and endless affection. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Samson, the Fluffy Blanket Fluffer who is blind but full of love! This handsome boy may be blind, but that doesn’t stop him from being the sweetest companion you’ll ever meet! Samson's journey started when he showed up at an elderly woman's house. After a few twists and turns, he found his way to NGPR, where he's now in boarding and ready to find a foster or forever home. He needs to gain 15-20 pounds, but that will soon be cured with plenty of good meals and love. Samson is a master blanket fluffer and loves to make his bed just right before settling down. He's gentle on the leash, enjoys walks, and loves to lean on you for guidance. He's a friendly guy who wags his tail when meeting new people and is very gentle. Plus, he has no interest in cats or most other dogs, making him the perfect solo pet or a great addition to a multi-pet household. Overall, he denies the request to play from other dogs, with an exception made for little miss Ruby - check out the videos to see them playing together! Samson is currently behind a 5 ft chain link fence but has tried to escape. A 6 ft wooden privacy fence or a leash walk-only home would be best. He's not a barker unless he needs to go out, and is terrified of loud noises like fireworks, but does fine if he is inside with his people. Samson would thrive in a home with a family that is around. He can be an only pet or live with a cat or dog sibling. He doesn’t need a large yard and would do fine in a leash walk-only situation. Samson is a happy boy who loves attention and will give you his companionship in return. If you're looking for a loving and gentle companion, Samson is the perfect match for you!
