Story
Hi, I’m April—a 7-year-old Great Pyrenees with a gentle heart and a whole lot of love to give. I weigh about 102 pounds, but don’t let my size fool you—I’m a big softie who’s all about kindness. I recently lost my person, and while that’s been really hard, I’m holding onto hope that there’s another loving family out there ready to make me part of their life. I’m friendly, sweet, and I walk nicely on a leash. I love car rides, gentle pets, and spending quiet time with the people I care about. I get along great with adults and kids alike, and I have a way of making people feel safe and loved just by being near them. What I’m really dreaming of is a forever home where I can feel safe again. A place where I can rest my head, stretch out in the sun, and be someone’s loyal companion. If you’ve got room in your heart (and maybe a little extra space on the couch), I’d love to join your family! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Hi friends, I’m Chevy—a 12-year-old Great Pyrenees with a heart as big as my 98-pound fluffy body. Life’s been a little tough lately; I lost my person, and now I’m searching for a new home where I can spend my golden years surrounded by love. I’m an extremely gentle soul who loves to lean into you for pets, and if you stop too soon, I’ll give you the classic Pyrenees paw to politely ask for more. I may be older, but I still have so much love to give. I’m great with both adults and kids. I walk nicely on a leash and ride calmly in the car—no drama, just a mellow buddy who wants to be close to his people. I’ve got the sweetest personality and the kindest eyes, even though one of them needed a little extra care. I had a cyst that made it uncomfortable, but I’m on eye drops now and our vet will be removing it soon. It may take a little while for the hair to grow back, but I’m already feeling so much better. All I really want is a loving home where I can relax and get all the affection I’ve been missing. If you’ve got room in your heart for a gentle older fellow who just wants to love and be loved, I promise I’ll make every day we have together feel like a gift. Story
Roscoe is a handsome 7 month old, 80 lb Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mix. His markings are extremely striking, and he is deliciously fluffy. True to his Pyrenees heritage, he is a little wary of new people but a total love once he gets to know you. He absolutely melts when he gets pet and loves snuggles! He will put his big head in your lap and look at you with his puppy eyes, and you will be instantly smitten. Roscoe loves his toys and likes to take them all out of the toy box to play with. This darling is still a pup and does occasionally need redirection from things he should not be chewing on. This big boy adores his canine friends and loves every dog he meets. He can be a bit anxious when alone but is fine if he has a canine companion, so he does need a home with another dog. He is great with children but is a big puppy, so it is best if they are used to big dogs! He is fostered on a farm and is also good with goats, donkeys, and horses! Roscoe is good on the leash, 98% housetrained, and sleeps through the night. He is smart, food motivated, and very trainable. Roscoe is great about coming when called and is eager to please. This charmer is sure to melt your heart!! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Sweet Beaver Cleaver would love the opportunity to be someone's furever best friend! Although Beaver came to us with unknown history, he has shown to be a very, very good boy, and definitely has the pawtential to be the bestest dog. Beaver has the loveliest floofy coat that comes in tri-color, giving him a uniquely handsome look. This young boy really shines when he is in the company of his four-legged friends, and while Beaver enjoys some good romping around in the safety of the 4’-foot fenced-in backyard, he is also content to just chill and watch the interesting shapes of the clouds or the critters having fun. These days, Beaver is working hard to learn about navigating the human world, and he is learning that there are many kind people out there looking out for him. He is shy and timid meeting new people, but we are pawsitive that he will thrive with a generous dosage of love, patience, and kindness. It would be great if he can have a confident canine sibling to show him the ropes (and perks!) of being loved and adored. Beaver Cleaver is truly a gem waiting to shine for the right person - will you be the one to discover his pawtential?
