Story
Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! And speaking of fur, well, you know I am a Great Pyrenees and we SHED great amounts, so you must love me more than my hair!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Elmer, like the glue, you ask?? WELL MAYBE!!! I am a GREAT Great Pyrenees boy who had a rough looking life before I was saved in the rain, with big wounds on my face and front chest and legs :( Looked to the rescuers like I had been in a fight... So here I am, LIVING THE HIGH LIFE!!!! I am in a foster home with AIR CONDITIONING!!! And my foster momma and her momma love on me and keep me fed and happy :) I, of course, had heartworms when I was found. HOWEVER, those pesky worms are currently dying off and I am feeling better every day without those parasites!!! I am a couch surfer, have you ever tried to surf a couch?? NOT EASY but here I am, killing it!! (not the couch, the surfing life :) I am a big boy, about 95-100# when full grown- but GENTLE GIANT thoroughly describes me. I am easy going and happy and loving. As a late in life neutered male, I like the female dogs better than other males, unless they are submissive. And I am crate/house/everything trained already so you don't have to worry about that! ADOPT ME, I have SO MANY redeeming qualities... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Thunder is a darling, fluffy-soft Great Pyrenees mix puppy that came into a California shelter with his litter as a stray. He is a Parvovirus survivor but is all healthy now. - Approximately 14 weeks old and 27lbs. Thunder is going to be a BIG boy. - Littermate DNA tested 66% Great Pyrenees, 14% Border Collie, 7% Akbash, 3% Lab, 2% Maremma Sheepdog - Sweet, affectionate, gentle puppy - Loves other dogs - Good with kids - Good with cats (fostered with a cat) - Mild mannered, softer temperament with a nice medium to lower energy level for a puppy. - Learning potty and crate training in foster currently - Seeking a home with a fenced yard since this breed loves to lounge outside Thunder has received two rounds of puppy vaccines, rabies, bordatella and multiple rounds of dewormer. He is microchipped and it is free to register. His adoption fee includes his neuter surgery at our vet in Tualatin or Portland when he is 1 year old. We prefer our XL breed puppies to have ample growth hormones for joint health so we delay spay/neuter. Thunder's adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Portland, Tualatin, Milwaukie or Oregon City. $350 adoption fee Fostered in Milwaukie, Oregon Apply to adopt Thunder on our website www.agavedogs.org

Story
We think it’s high time for Maverick to find his wingman, or wingwoman. He was running loose and living under a vacant trailer for a couple of years and had to be trapped by the amazing Duck Team 6.  He arrived here with skin issues and very little hair.  He was standoffish and unsure of his new life style. He has made a huge turn around and not only sporting a beautiful coat but a wonderful personality.  He is very unhappy when cats or dogs come into his space and barks in hopes that they will leave. He will probably be happier as an only pet though he has had a couple of dog buddies that lived next to him. He would thrive in an all adult home. ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206. All dogs and puppies require VISIBLE fencing Adoption fee: $300 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel).
