Story
Meet Janis, the adorable freckle-faced girl who’s as sweet as they come and who knows how to make her presence felt in the most endearing ways. Born around March 2020, Janis is an affectionate girl who loves snuggles, won’t say no to a good belly rub, and just wants to be adored. She’s got a soft spot for humans and loves to stay close, ensuring you never feel alone—she may even climb into your lap to get closer! If you're looking for a buddy who’s all about those cozy moments, Janis is your girl. But as much as Janis loves her humans, she’s not big on sharing the spotlight—she’s on the lookout for a home where she can be your one-and-only. And spoiler alert, she’s very clear about her "no cats allowed" policy—cats are definitely not on her guest list! Janis is the perfect companion for a quiet home with adults only (she’s not into the whole kid thing) and would thrive in a calm, loving environment. Janis is a keen listener and will happily join you for a leisurely walk—though, full disclosure, she’s a bit of a distracted walker who has strong opinions about bicycles and mail trucks. She’s still learning the art of leash-walking, so some patience is required, but she’s super smart and eager to please. And speaking of her intelligence, this smart cookie is a Dentastix detective, and she loves the challenge of a treasure hunt in pursuit of those prized treats! With her affectionate nature (and those sweet freckles you can’t resist!), Janis is ready to give all her love and gentle kisses to the right home—could it be yours? Story
Meet Luna, the long-legged beauty with a playful streak and a knack for making every moment a little more fun! Born around October 2021, Luna is as sweet as they come, but she’s not shy about letting you know when it’s time for some love—she’ll give you a gentle “butt boop” to remind you she’s there and ready for attention. When she’s not initiating playtime with her resident canine buddy, you’ll likely find her prancing around the yard like a graceful (and slightly goofy) horse. Luna is an outdoor enthusiast who loves to run, explore, and even take on “guard duty” at night—possum intruders, beware! Luna is great on a leash, enjoys car rides, and politely ignores the cats at her foster home (although she doesn't hesitate to sample their food if given the chance!). Luna is tall enough to put her front paws on the kitchen counter, so you’ll want to keep snacks out of reach—she’s a clever girl who knows where the good stuff is! This sweet girl would thrive with another dog around to join in on her fun, and she’ll definitely keep you entertained with her playful antics. If you're ready for endless boops and a whole lot of love from this amazing pup, Luna is ready to prance her way into your heart! Story
Meet Giselle, the canine equivalent of a supermodel wrapped in a fluffy, cuddly package. With her stunning eyes and graceful demeanor, she turns heads wherever she goes—but she’s not just beautiful, she’s got a playful side too! This refined lady has impeccable house manners, knows how to keep things classy, and doesn’t need a kennel—she’s perfectly content being her well-behaved, all-around good girl self. On walks, Giselle is a dream—no pulling, no nonsense, just a dignified stroll. Unless, of course, she catches an interesting scent, then it’s time for a proper “sniff-ari,” and she’ll politely suggest that you follow her lead. But don’t worry, she’s a team player and won’t drag you along—just a gentle nudge in the direction of her choosing so she can embrace every delightful scent the world has to offer. Born around March 2023, Giselle is a world-class snuggle bug and will gladly curl up beside you for endless belly rubs. Giselle is the whole package: beauty, brains, and a sweet temperament that makes her a true treasure. Could Giselle be the perfect addition to your family? Story
Say hello to Frida, the fabulous floof with a sweet little face and big ol’ melt-your-heart puppy dog eyes that will have you smitten in no time. Born around January 2025, this little darling has mastered the art of looking innocent while plotting her next sassy move. Her foster mom has pretty much given up resisting her charms—hence the frequent smears of lip gloss on Frida’s fluffy face from all the unsolicited kisses. This independent little lady has confidence in spades and isn’t afraid to throw down in a playful wrestle with the big dogs in her foster home—she holds her own like the tough (but lovable) cookie she is. But she’s also the ultimate cuddle bug when the zoomies are done—always ready to snuggle up with her canine crew. Already potty trained and practically born with good manners, Frida is what foster dreams are made of. Her foster mom, who’s seen her fair share of dogs, swears that anyone lucky enough to adopt Frida will hit the puppy jackpot—she’s one of the easiest, most delightful pups around. If you’re looking for a sweet little lovebug who’s got beauty, brains, and just the right amount of sass, Frida is your girl. But be warned: once you look into those puppy dog eyes, there's no going back! Frida will need obedience training as she gets older and mature. There is a lot for a puppy to learn and like all small puppies, she will need someone who can be home with her a lot and provide her with love, patience and boundaries to help her become a loyal companion. She loves the companionship of other animals and requires another dog in the home to act as her mentor as she continues to understand the rules of her new world. ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206. PUPPIES ARE ONLY PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOGS WHO ARE AT LEAST 50 POUNDS. Our requirements for puppy adoptions are simple and necessary. Our puppies are not livestock guardians, they are family pets that live inside of the family home. Puppies must be placed in homes with a youthful, adult resident dog of similar size. This gives the puppy a mentor and a solid foundation for becoming part of the family. Puppies are only adopted to homes with someone at home at least part of the day. If no one is home for 6-8 hours at a time, please do not apply. Preference is always given to those with Great Pyrenees experience. Applicants must have secure, visible fencing and a socialization plan in place. The fastest way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. Adoption is not first come, first served. GPRS and its fosters work diligently to find the right fit for each and every unique dog and puppy. Applicant’s personal pets must be current on vaccines & heartworm/flea prevention and be altered. Adoption fee: $450 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel). Adopters pay the cost of transport services outside of Texas area. Transport costs depend on location and company used. Northeast transport fee is $200.
