Story
Leo is a wonderful 6 year old Great Pyrenees who I adopted from a local SPCA in Delaware. He spent the first 3-4 years of his life with me in Philadelphia and since then we’ve spent the last two years outside of Seattle, WA (larger home with yard, space, etc.) having recently moved back to our old neighborhood in Philadelphia in June of this year. Since moving back Leo has had a really hard time readjusting to city life again and we've had a mixture of ups and downs with a few aggressive outbursts involving family members (lots of barking and a couple of bites). With my partner and I thinking about our future and starting a family, we are having to make the difficult decision to rehome him to an environment better suited to his needs and breed. He is a wonderful boy with a sweet tempermant and would make a great addition to a home with space and room to roam. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Thanks!

Story
Through no fault of his own, Momo needs a new home. Momo came to us as a four-month-old puppy in 2021. He is a true family dog who gives his whole heart to the people he loves. He is fully housebroken, walks well on leash, and has thrived in doggy daycare. Momo is also a sensitive soul. He has anxiety that has increased as he has aged. Momo’s anxiety expresses when he is alone, and when unfamiliar people come into the home, particularly unfamiliar men. He is protective and managing these instincts requires a calm and steady person. Overall Momo does best when a confident adult is present to help him feel secure. Momo is best suited for an adult-only home, or one with older teenagers who are comfortable and experienced with dogs.Momo can be home alone, but after about 30 minutes he goes on high alert when left by himself, sometimes howling when something startles him. In the right environment: somewhere quieter, more spacious, and with people who understand him, he will thrive.

Story
Clifford's Story Clifford is a handsome 3-year-old Great Pyrenees/Australian Shepherd mix with a gentle heart and a loyal spirit. Arriving at the shelter as a stray, Clifford has shown just how resilient and loving he can be. Weighing around 62 pounds, he’s the perfect medium-large companion—big enough for adventure, but easygoing enough to settle in by your side. Clifford walks beautifully on a leash and truly enjoys getting out to explore the world with his people. He’s friendly, affectionate, and eager to connect, making him a wonderful match for someone looking for a devoted canine companion. Clifford would do best as the only dog in the home, as he prefers to have his space all to himself. Because of this, he’s looking for an experienced adopter who understands his needs and can provide structure, patience, and plenty of love. With the right home, Clifford will thrive and form a deep, lasting bond. If you’re ready to open your heart to a loyal, one-of-a-kind companion, Clifford is ready to meet you. Please apply for Clifford at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER :   Mr. Popular! Max/Cottontail gets along with everyone! Except chickens!   HISTORY : Max (FKA Cottontail) was the biggest pup in Bunny’s litter and was raised using the Puppy Protocol with proper socialization. He was adopted by a wonderful family with other dogs, cats, kids and a farmette with chickens. He went to an office with the owners every day and enjoyed time with visitors between naps. Max enjoyed playtime until he met the few chickens that he could catch and play a bit rough with. The adopters thought it best to return him to us to find him another home.      PERSONALITY : Max is friendly, laid back, curious, brave and loving. He is very food motivated so he would be easy to train for any advanced tasks. He knows sit, paw, come (in his own time). He goes to a dog friendly office every day and is not reactive, sleeps, greets with a tail wag and is learning not to jump up and hug new friends.  FAVORITE ACTIVITIES : Meeting new friends, chewing all types of gullet sticks, antlers, kong, filled bones, treats and surgically removing squeakers from stuffies between naps.   MEDICAL ISSUES : NONE. Up to date on all vaccines.  Neutered, rear deux claws removed. Max has been exposed to all types of proteins with no issues. Like most dogs, consistent food keep his tummy happy.  He eats 2x per day. He is not a picky eater.  WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME : He would be best around his people and another dog. He has manners and is a gentleman but still needs some structure and guidance. He is still a puppy but a mature one. He would love to be active and have a job to do. Boredom is his nemesis. He enjoys a schedule and his naps. He loves riding In the car so would be a fabulous travel companion. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS : Max just had a first visit to the groomer and did well. Not a fan of the noises of the dryer or the cremel on his nails but, he would get used to it with more experience. He is shedding a bit now in the spring but has not been a big shedder like his Pyrenees momma. His DNA Test came back with 53% Pyrenees from his pure bred momma as well as chow, lab, and lots of others mixed in.   Click here to watch a video of Cottontail (Max).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
