Story
KENNEL ID #01658&#226&#128&#139 Meet Timmy! Timmy has come a very long way in the past 9 months, he just needed someone to work with him on his confidence and socialization. He is currently in doggy daycare and training and has made some impressive improvements. He is a gentle giant who is shy at first but will immediately be your friend if you give him a few minutes and some treats. He absolutley loves his lady dog friends and would be suitable with respectful kids. All around Timmy has proved that he is an amazing pup looking to run on someone's large property, go on hikes and walks and be active. He went from being abandoned, starved and unsocialized to being a big love bug who wants to climb in your lap. Will you give Timmy a chance? Please submit an application to adopt Timmy via our website www.ddpets.com. *If you are applying and have a male dog, this would not be best fit for Timmy or his brother Marius* Thank you for your interest in rescue. If you would like to be considered for adoption please submit an application to adopt. APPLICATION TO ADOPT: https://form.jotform.com/240606049335150      If you have any questions regarding the adoption process please email:  dianespets1486@gmail.com April 14, 2024, 1:38 pm

Story
KENNEL ID #01658&#226&#128&#139 Marius is a cross between two livestock guardian breeds. Marius and his sibling's owners decided a vacation was more important than caring for their 8 dogs. Marius has not been socialized very much and takes a while to warm up to you.  He is already a fantastic watch dog. He absolutely loves being outside and keeping an eye on things. He did come from a working farm so he needs an experienced owner that has prior experience with dogs that missed out on early socialization. He is affectionate to the staff that he knows, but it does take some effort on their part to win him over. This is pretty typical for guardian breeds. He will do best in a home without small children who may not understand that he needs some space and time to feel comfortable.  Marius deserves a chance at having a happy home. He just needs the right happy home. He is not an apartment or condo dog. He simply would not do well in a situation where there is a lot of commotion or new people. He would love hanging out with his besties and getting all of their attention all day. Thank you for your interest in rescue. If you would like to be considered for adoption please submit an application to adopt. APPLICATION TO ADOPT: https://form.jotform.com/240606049335150      If you have any questions regarding the adoption process please email:  dianespets1486@gmail.com April 14, 2024, 1:38 pm

Meet Chelsea! *BREED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO ADOPT Breed: Great Pyrenees Estimated DOB: 03/01/2023 Sex: Female - Spayed Weight: 45-50 lbs Things To Know: - Chelsea is a pure Great Pyrenees, as confirmed by an Embark DNA test, and she embodies all the charming traits of her breed. - In May 2023, Chelsea was dumped at a Mississippi shelter by being callously shoved under the fence. At just 3 months old, Chelsea’s gentle demeanor and enchanting personality wouldn’t let anyone know the severity of her situation for weeks to come. After countless vet visits, urine & blood tests, x-rays, and scans, it was finally determined that Chelsea has a spinal malformation. In addition to her spinal trauma, Chelsea also has a congenital eye disorder and was born blind in her right eye. - Dr. Rosen, Chelsea's Neurologist at VRC told us that “After consulting with other veterinary specialists, it became apparent that a radical stabilization surgery was essential for her to experience a pain-free and improved quality of life.” Read more about this on our website: TLCrescuePA.com/BarkingBack- Despite a spinal injury that's left her with partial incontinence, Chelsea greets each day with enthusiasm, especially when it comes to wearing her diaper, which she wears with pride!- She's an absolute sweetheart, full of bounce and fluff, brightening everyone's day with her Pyr-like goofiness.- She has a goofy Pyr-like demeanor that brings joy to everyone around her- Although she often enjoys meeting new people, she can sometimes appear aloof when first approached- Great with kids of all ages and has enjoyed going to school visits - Chelsea's energy levels are low to medium, and she enjoys a playful, fun side with her toys and self-entertaining antics- Loves playing with toys and will self entertain - A true Pyrenees, she loves being outdoors regardless of the weather- She's doing well with leash training, occasionally displaying typical Pyrenees stubbornness.- Chelsea enjoys peaceful nights in her cozy, gated space, snoozing soundly with the soothing hum of her sound machine. This little routine ensures she wakes up bright and cheerful each morning! - Dog-friendly, Chelsea loves playing with other dogs and currently resides happily with multiple canine companions.- Chelsea shows her typical Great Pyrenees traits by being a bit possessive over her things and confidently asserting her leadership. It's all part of her charming, protective nature!- Cat friendly - coexists with the cat she has spent time with - Did we mention that she is also pig friendly and lives with pet pigs!? - To maintain her health and growth, Chelsea requires a balanced diet and regular veterinary check-ups.- Chelsea is looking for a forever home that can provide the love, care, and understanding she deserves. She adores fetch and engaging with toys, sitting instantly for treats.- Her love for food makes training a breeze, already mastering 'sit' and showing promise in basic obedience.- Excelling in housebreaking, Kate has proven to be incredibly smart and efficient outdoors.- Comfortably crate trained in a larger dog kennel, she's calm when alone and more excitable in the presence of her people.- Kate isn't destructive or anxious but finds enjoyment and mental stimulation in puzzle toys and snuffle mats.- Dog Friendly - Kate exhibits a confident, perhaps dominant personality, eager for interactive play.- Considering her athletic ability and strong character, a home with Great Pyrenees experience and a fenced yard is ideal to let her spirited personality flourish.
