Things To Know: - Chelsea is a pure Great Pyrenees, as confirmed by an Embark DNA test, and she embodies all the charming traits of her breed. - In May 2023, Chelsea was dumped at a Mississippi shelter by being callously shoved under the fence. At just 3 months old, Chelsea’s gentle demeanor and enchanting personality wouldn’t let anyone know the severity of her situation for weeks to come. After countless vet visits, urine & blood tests, x-rays, and scans, it was finally determined that Chelsea has a spinal malformation. In addition to her spinal trauma, Chelsea also has a congenital eye disorder and was born blind in her right eye. - Dr. Rosen, Chelsea's Neurologist at VRC told us that “After consulting with other veterinary specialists, it became apparent that a radical stabilization surgery was essential for her to experience a pain-free and improved quality of life.” Read more about this on our website: TLCrescuePA.com/BarkingBack- Despite a spinal injury that's left her with partial incontinence, Chelsea greets each day with enthusiasm, especially when it comes to wearing her diaper, which she wears with pride!- She's an absolute sweetheart, full of bounce and fluff, brightening everyone's day with her Pyr-like goofiness.- She has a goofy Pyr-like demeanor that brings joy to everyone around her- Although she often enjoys meeting new people, she can sometimes appear aloof when first approached- Great with kids of all ages and has enjoyed going to school visits - Chelsea's energy levels are low to medium, and she enjoys a playful, fun side with her toys and self-entertaining antics- Loves playing with toys and will self entertain - A true Pyrenees, she loves being outdoors regardless of the weather- She's doing well with leash training, occasionally displaying typical Pyrenees stubbornness.- Chelsea enjoys peaceful nights in her cozy, gated space, snoozing soundly with the soothing hum of her sound machine. This little routine ensures she wakes up bright and cheerful each morning! - Dog-friendly, Chelsea loves playing with other dogs and currently resides happily with multiple canine companions.- Chelsea shows her typical Great Pyrenees traits by being a bit possessive over her things and confidently asserting her leadership.
