Story
Hello, my name is: KehlaniDOB: 11/24/2023Sex/Breed: Spayed female Great PyreneesWeight: ~60 lbsFriends: Adults, dogs, cats, childrenTraits: Sweet, gentle, easy goingRescued From: Owner surrenderKehlani is looking for a new home after her previous owner did not have the means to properly care for her. We are thrilled about the opportunity to help this beautiful girl on her path to a loving home - she has really been fun to get to know! After some initial shyness due to the changes around her, Kehlani has really blossomed and become the forward-friendly, goofy companion she is meant to be! She has shared her foster home with other dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages and gets along great with everyone. She even did well with the cats she was introduced to! Kehlani loves to romp outside in the fenced in yard - bopping around and enjoying every moment of life. As you can see from her pictures, she is not afraid to dance in the rain and get a little muddy if it means she'll have a good time. Kehlani is an easy-going girl and would flourish in many different family dynamics - she just needs a little patience to feel safe. We can't wait to find her a home with a giant yard to enjoy with a family who will be committed to her and her care... could that be yours??All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? In time she'll get more confident - all she needs is some patience. Emily loves other dogs and enjoys hanging out with her pals. She prefers dogs more on the calm side, and has gained confidence from her canine pals. As is expected from her breed, she is protective, loyal, and gentle. Story
Introducing Mr. Handsome, AKA Bruce. Bruce is a gorgeous 4-year-old Great Pyrenees/Retriever beauty. He’s so gorgeous, he could make billions because everyone wants to feature him on the cover of their magazine. His sweet and friendly personality attracts everyone. Bruce and his friend Storm were found as strays in Kentucky. Who knows how long they lived on the streets begging for food. A very nice mail carrier saw them on her route and couldn’t believe how emaciated they were and started feeding them and coordinated a foster for them. A nice lady fostered and provided vet care till their journey to LaMancha. Thank you to his rescue team in Kentucky and LaMancha for allowing him to have a better life. Bruce is a genuine sweetheart. His Great Pyrenees/Retriever stunningly gorgeous coat blends so well together. He is an affectionate fellow and truly a beautiful gem—friendly and lovable—a leader in the sweetness category. He’s an all-around 100% pawsome dog! When you feel something special, you just know.  And we guarantee, that’s how you’ll feel after meeting Bruce. “In the heart of every dog, there’s the soul of a best friend.” Important Info: To adopt Bruce, please email Adoptions@LaManchaAnimalRescue.org *********************************   Four years old. Your stomach is guaranteed to feel like the butterflies when he looks at you with those warm gentle eyes, and a sweet feeling and happy moment for sure. Story
Meet Chelsea! Breed: Great Pyrenees   Estimated DOB: 03/01/2023   Sex: Female - spayed   Weight: 45-50 lbs   Up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations GUARDIAN OR WORKING BREED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO ADOPT Things To Know About Chelsea: - Chelsea is a purebred Great Pyrenees, as confirmed by an Embark DNA test, and she embodies all the charming traits of her breed in a petite "pocket pyr" build.- In May 2023, at just 3 months old, Chelsea was heartlessly shoved under a fence at a Mississippi shelter before arriving at TLC. Despite her hardships, including a spinal malformation and congenital blindness in one eye, Chelsea's gentle demeanor never wavered. Her medical journey has been extensive, with numerous vet visits, tests, and a crucial surgery to improve her quality of life. Dr. Rosen, Chelsea's neurologist at VRC, emphasized that a radical stabilization surgery was essential for her to live a pain-free and happier life. Read all about Chelsea's story on our website: TLCrescuePA.com/BarkingBack.- Due to her previous spinal trauma and comprehensive surgery, Chelsea is incontinent but rocks her doggy diaper! She even gets excited to put it on because it means she gets to do something fun.- Chelsea's surgery surpassed expectations and has been incredibly successful. She now lives a pain-free life—running, jumping, and moving like a typical happy pup.- While sometimes aloof at first, Chelsea is an absolute sweetheart and loves everyone she meets, especially kids.- She has been attending school visits since she was 3 months old and is now a seasoned pro.- Her pyr-like goofiness brightens everyone’s day.- Low to medium energy.- She enjoys playful times with her toys and self-entertaining antics just as much as taking naps.- True to her breed, Chelsea loves being outdoors in any weather.- She enjoys going for walks, though she shows typical Pyrenees stubbornness at times.- While she is crate trained, Chelsea enjoys sleeping through the night in her cozy, gated space.- Dog-friendly, she loves playing with other dogs and lives happily with multiple canine companions.- Typical for Great Pyrenees, Chelsea is a bit bossy and can be protective of her food and toys from other animals. With people, however, she is a total softie!- Cat-friendly.- Did we mention she is even pig-friendly and loves to spend time with her pig siblings?- Chelsea is looking for a forever home that can provide the love, care, and understanding she deserves, ideally with someone experienced in managing her breed's needs.
