Story
Arriving to Pittsburgh soon! Coming from a shelter, my history is a bit of a mystery, but here's what my shelter friends said about me: "Who wants a best friend??? Sophy is your girl and she isn't picky! She likes to say hello with a hug and kiss as soon as she meets you- this girl does not meet a stranger. She also greeted neighbors down the row with a wagging tail. She let me pick her up with no issues and had the cutest little freckles. Once in the run outside she was little barky, but I just think she wants to play and was excited (and there were also lots of barking dogs around). If you are interested in learning more about me or helping other dogs like me, please submit an application here: https://barkaboutit.org/apply/

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Harley - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Harley and it comes from the Old English origin meaning 'Hare Meadow', which represents a peaceful and serene image. Just nothing like seeing a Pyr laying in the yard watching! Unfortunately my elderly owner is not able to care for me any longer but I'm trying not to let it get me down as I look for another family to adopt. Did you know that I came from royalty? The Pyrenees breed came from France where we made our way up from being a peasant farmers dog to the royal court being named the royal dog of France in 1675. Even Queen Victoria had a Pyr. We are strong willed and can sometimes be stubborn but more importantly we are affectionate, patient, confident, fearless and gentle. It is said that we wouldn't make a good breed for first timers but if you're aware of the negative traits (sometimes stubborn & lots of hair) along with the awesome good traits, we could definitely make it work. As a youngster at only around a year and a half old, I do have some basic obedience training, am well mannered, I don't jump up unless invited and have a sweet, loving warm nature that just adores getting 'good boys' from my people. I am a big boy of snowy white fluff. I will need several weekly brushings to keep my royal self tangle free and looking dapper and the vacuum will be an extension of your arm with me around but the reward of my adoring love for you will sooooo be worth it!! A couple of daily 45 minute walks a day should be enough to keep me happy. With that daily exercise in I can do quite well in town with a yard or in the country. I fall into the 3 G category which is Gorgeous, Gentle and Giant. Instinctively nurturing with the flock or family, we do make great family members. Just make sure the couch is big enough for sharing!!! My breed tend to love being with the family and are content to lay at or on your feet or curled up with you on that big enough couch. I'm here to adopt me a family and since you're reading this you must being missing something special in your life too, could it possibly be...ME?!!

Hey y'all, it's Lenny here, as in Lenny Kravitz! Yep, I was named after the multi-talented performer as I have many talents of my own. 'I Belong To You' would be my ultimate dream come true. And, 'Are You Gonna Go My Way', where you can be 'My Cab Driver' so we can run thru those 'Fields Of Joy'! Oh my, yep, what dreams are made of!! I'm an energetic youngster of only around 10 months but I have a very gentle soul that does very well with the other foster pups here at the rescue even the young puppies and the itty bitty little ones. I play very gently with them. I am a very happy happy boy that is easy going but I do have a slightly goofy side to me also. The entertainer side of me is the happiest when I get to see smiles and hear chuckles from my people! I probably won't get much bigger then my current 55lbs which I might say is a pretty pawsome size. I am always ready and willing to tackle any and all of those action packed adventures we'll be going on but at the end of the day, I'm also a perfect size for getting my cuddles on! Oh yeah, you know what I'm talking about....belly rubs, ear scratches, a lap to lay my head!! Are you searching for a multi-talented fella? One that will gladly be by your side on action adventures along with your daily going on's? If you 'Believe In Me' 'U Will Know' I'm the boy for you!! You only need to stop what you're doing and fill out my adoption application and I'll do the rest!!

Story
Lila is such a sweetheart! She is a very gentle girl, and definitely a Velcro dog, she follows her Foster Mom everywhere and just wants to be petted and loved Lila and her siblings were left in a cardboard box by the side of the road in rural Mississippi with a note saying “free puppies.” Fortunately Wags stepped in and took the family in. One by one Wags has been able to send the puppies up to Adopter’s, and all of the adopters say the exact same thing—the siblings are all mellow, loving, quiet, family dogs Lila is still in Mississippi and we’d love to get her up to the northeast next! At the Rescue in Mississippi she gets along fine with the other dogs and iwith cats as well Lila is fine going potty outside although she is not familiar with walking on a leash, but she is a pretty slow moving girl so we think she’d adjust to it fine. Lila will make a loving and loyal member of the family.April 19, 2024, 5:00 pm

Story
Meet handsome Buddy, he is 7 years old.… Buddy is calm, and friendly. He is initially a tad nervous and would benefit from a family that has love and patience to give him. He is gentle with his treats and not very demanding of your time. Buddy came from a situation where his owner passed away - but even in life, Buddy was left to his own devices… he is now learning what it’s like to be part of a family, and enjoying the interactions. A calm home where he can be a couch potato would suit him just fine. Kids over 10-12 who know proper dog etiquette, Buddy would adore that. Buddy does need to make up for all the love he lost out on, so that’s only fair - we’re hopeful that in his later years we can find someone to offer him the loving companionship that he has been looking for.. Buddy will be an amazing addition to a family that gives him some time to come out of his shell and has a low key, calm household. He will be a super easy dog who would demand nothing more than a soft bed, two square meals and humans who love and adore her like he deserves. If you are interested in Meeting this wonderful boy.. please contact Sandy or The Great Pyrenees Club of Western Pennsylvania Rescue - thur www.swpapyr.org, or respond by e-mail - Buddy will LOVE you for it! We will also need you to fill out our adoption survey - Buddy will need an above ground fence for safe play and exercise. We are looking for homes in the surrounding Pittsburgh area.
