Story
Elsa had a pretty rough start in life, as she was rescued from living in deplorable conditions with no access to food or clean drinking water in the Dallas, Texas area. From her extremely fearful behavior, it was evident that Elsa did not receive the proper socialization that dogs require at a young age, as the sight of a any person left her cowering and shivering in fear. However, after months of dedication to her behavioral training, and a second start at life in the Texas hill country, Elsa has started to blossom and become more confident, especially in the presence of other dogs. With continued time and patience, Elsa, though still fearful, has made incredible progress, often greeting her favorite staff members excitedly at the kennel gate, eager to go outside and play. Elsa is looking for a calm and quiet home, as well as a patient adopter, likely female, to help her continue on the journey of being the best pup she can be!

Story
Hank is a sweet and silly boy. His birthday falls appropriately on Valentine’s Day (he just turned 2 this year). He plays really well with other dogs, he’s curious but obedient and loves affection. We are sadly looking to rehome him because with a toddler and an infant we do not have enough space in our home for him to roam freely. He is good with children in that he has never shown any amount of aggression or reactivity towards them, but he is quite clumsy and has accidentally stumbled over them or knocked over the toddler. If you have children but you also have space, he could still be a good fit for your family. Otherwise I might recommend a single person or a couple who has the time, space, and capacity to give this sweet boy the attention he truly deserves. I am heartbroken to be writing this post, but as a new mom I have struggled greatly with my mental health and I know that has an immediate impact on Hank’s quality of life. He is a gentle soul who deserves to go on adventures!

Story
Talk about a dreamboat! Forest is ready to be your fluffy, full of life best friend! As one volunteer put it, “He’s a goofy floof with feet too big for his body”. Probably because this nearly 6 month old guy is still growing into his mixed Great Pyrenees and Labrador Retriever body. But that doesn’t stop him from playing and enjoying a quality stick or bone to chew on. He’s proven to be a sweet and affectionate cuddler. For a puppy, he’s happy to chill out and keep things low key. Which has been really helpful to allow him to recover from a surgery on his front left foot. He’s healing very well, and could benefit from a family willing to support him through controlled exercises to build up his strength. This loving guy has been happy to get love from all people. He walks easy on a leash, enjoys a good treat and seems like he’d get along well with other dogs. And did we mention how smart he is as he’s been learning his commands :) Forest is ready for his fur-ever home.

Story
Macy is a sweet, fun loving, happy dog. She is a blue healer/ berenese mountain dog mix. She is 5 years old and still has the energy of a puppy. Macy loves kids, grownups and anyone who will give her some love. She has serious FOMO. Always wants to be with people. :) Macy is potty trained and always goes to the door when she needs to go. She has a healthy diet and is current on all her shots. Macy would love a home where she will get lots of attention and a big place to run around and chase squirrels.
